  1. Moderators may be redundant too. Artificial Interlligence could be used. Not only for moderation but to write articles.
  2. Exactly what I've just had done in the last few weeks at Thantakit in Bangkok. Excellent service. Their pricing is here as a guide for the OP. Prices may well be somewhat cheaper in Pattaya.
  3. I arrived back in "The Land of NO Smiles" a few days ago. Nobody, in real life here believes inflation is down. Nothing but price rises everywhere from utilities to food to fuel prices. Anyone who thinks that interest rates are coming down (more than a token .25%) is deluded. More pain to come I'm afraid and with that the s.h.i.t.e shows of London mayoral elections in a few weeks and a UK general election before December. Add in geopolitical events and conflicts and the US elections then it's going to be a rough year. Good luck everyone!
  4. Free pass for the Shinawatras nowadays. Simply "when" will she return? Anyone want to open a book of odds on what illness she will suddenly be stricken down with that requires a VIP suite at the Police General Hosptal in lieu of jail?
  5. Quite amazing really that the driver didn't become unconcious too. Very, very lucky that there was no loss of life in this incident.
  6. So this tells us a lot about life here that many beleive already. Life is valued very cheaply. I'm sorry for your loss @petermik especially, when commenting on that which must not be spoken, will guarantee a sentence of at least 15 years. 4 years for cold blooded murder is an insult and should have been a minimum of 20 years and no parole or pardo!
  7. If you want to renew now, you will have to use the agent again. Best option, visit another nearby country and let your current visa/extension lapse. Reenter Thailand visa exempt, go direct to immigration and apply for Non-O retirement and then do extension properly. That's what I did. You now qualify - just make sure that you have the FIT incoming document for at least 800,000k Baht from overseas from your Thai bank. You do not have to go back to the UK.
  8. Google translate is your friend. Download as an app for all phones. Take a picture or hover over the text and it will trasnslate. I would never sign anything I did not understand.
  9. I hate the way the airlines here add and preselect options. The advertised price should be available for all payment types. Sneaky and misleading.
  10. I've walked the whole length of the beach road twice in the last few days. Some areas are so narrow between the trees that a wheelchair user would struggle to pass. Other areas are wider but there just seems to be so many obstructions along the way. Also, some areas it looks like they narrowed the walkway to add parking spaces on the beach side of beach road. Removing the trees is the last thing that should happen as it wouild spoil the look. Better to extend the walkway out a few metres onto the beach and unclutter. I'll also add that the whole length of beach road is dirty and smelly. They have put rubbish/garbage dumpsters every 30 metres or so on the beachside walkway (which is to be commended at this busy time), however at 7am today the smell was awful like walking through a garbage tip. The dumpsters did not appear full but really they need sanitizing once emptied. Quite horrible really and puts me off walking tomorrow morning.
  11. In my experience, it really doesn't matter when you do a TM30, so long as it is filed BEFORE you need to go to immigration. Much has been said about need for a new TM30 but why take a chance? Simply file before any interaction with immigration. It is easy to file.
  12. To see the real agenda, follow the money.
  13. The Welsh and Scots I know often beg to differ. Regarding the OP topic. I would really be curious to know why he returned to the UK and what "intelligence", if any, the UK authorities had on Burrows. Hopefully this wqill be reported in the UK press at some point.
  14. Pay a roadside "fine" of 20,000 Baht is typical (5,000 Baht for Thais). Barber was talking with me about this today - 3rd road checkpoints. Agree with others above. It is so easy with Grab and Bolt that there is no reason to drive.
