Thai scooter tales - add yours
richard_smith237 replied to gomangosteen's topic in Motorcycles in Thailand
I think you are getting a bit defensive there.... A Gold Wing on a 750km ride is going to be 100% more comfortable than Scoopy !!!... Of course we each have our preferences, but a lot of opinion is limited to backing the choices we made rather than being truly honest with ourselves. In the same context, a Gold Wing is going to be useless around Bangkok, but then for a similar reason but to a lesser degree so are the Maxi-scooters with bathtub design. IMO - Larger bikes, i.e. real motorcycles, are more comfortable, have better brakes and better suspension - I don't think there is much doubt about that at all... anyone suggesting otherwise is perhaps bias for other reasons. Scooters of course, are simply bucket loads more convenient and thats why most of us who ride, have one. Those who have larger bikes will nearly always also have a scooter as a run around. -

*Generally* 2 week teenage drunks spend big money whereas pensioners spend much less *Generally* Therefore pensioners are well down the pecking order. Powers that be probably think its cute to have farm girls sponsored by old foreigners but doubt much if any of that money reaches their pockets so it is what it is. -

Its not 440V it's is 380V. 220 x Sq root of 3. As an induction motor is 3 phase and most will only be supplying a single phase then obviously you have to generate a 3rd pase. This is done with a capacitor, the uF value is set to give the 120 degree variation between phases to give the best torque. The capacitor is normally the first thing to breakdown. You hear any motor making humming noises but going nowhere then the chances are it's the capacitor. Applies to a lot of washing machines pumps etc. It's the capacitor wots failed! -

no, they shouldn't. but how many rich kids in DT's position skipped the draft back then and nothing is said?, it only used politically now when digging up any dirt possible. if he didn't go to fight a fake war for some other rich men then bravo to him, all for that, certainly not a negative in my book! Muricans are so brainwashed by the patriotism/military/war propaganda it's unreal, just look at the hollywood movies!!, back in the day people didn't know better, with only a few TV channels and newspapers, but now, with the internet and world news you can see through the mainstream BS easily, people are wising up. Enrolment figure have slumped in the US i believe, soon it will be bye bye murican empire! -
He charged me 900 for vacuuming both ears. I'd say about 10 minutes max. And the problem (itchy ears) remained totally unresolved. It was a fungal infection. At that price might as well go to Bangkok Pattaya hospital. But don't let them use the monster microscope. They charge you an extra 400 THB. And try and see a lady specialist. They're a lot more pleasant. And buy your meds at Fascino, just 50m away.

I have my suspicions but they don't include a 'big bang' as that *theory* is retarded. Ever asked yourself who or what made your bang so big? If not, you've been indoctrinated through consistently repeated lies just as you were through the 'covid' nonsense which you also took at face face value and went along with. -

Do you still have the paperwork with your breaker? Buy one in the box and it often comes with a graph. You would have to know what your liading is to see if it's the correct breaker. If it hasn't tripped then it's obviously big enough. Pm me with make and model No. And I will see if I can find anything. -
Thailand Enters Low Tourism Season: Hopes Rest on Chinese Visitors
Poseidon replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I hope for a long and very quiet low season. Sadly I can't get out to Thailand this year during the low season. But it would be good to help pricing come back down to reality as they are asking high season prices in the hotels. Also just after COVID which I got stuck in as I booked during the pandemic thinking COVID would end earlier so I would not get caught up in the rush. I never want to be in Thailand when it's crowded again. Hated it -
