A combined force of personnel in Khun Satharn national park has put out the forest fires on about one rai of land in Nam Lee Tai village, about 20 rai of land in Nakha village and some land in Huay Phee Luang village and set up one-kilometer-long fire barriers. Meanwhile, a third seminar on a Thai-Japanese cooperation project for the management of Bangkok’s air quality was organized on Tuesday. Samples of air were collected at three spots where traffic congestion was usually heavy as well as dense communities including Din Daeng, Bang Na and Soi Ari Samphan. The samples will be sent to Japan for analysis on the original cause of the pollution. Results of the analysis, which are expected by the end of this year, will be studied in effort to find solutions to Bangkok’s PM 2.5 airborne particulate matter. -- © Copyright nnt 2019-04-25

  13. he is toxic no matter where he goes, Sir Alex got it right the first time, a very talented player but unless he is the center of attention he brings it all down round him, how many chances has he had at Manu, he hasn't realised after all this time that football is a team sport - he never will, I can tell this just by looking at him, he should have taken up tennis or athletics, he is not a team player - good riddance Ole needs to tell him - don't get on the bus - you're done, and if there was a way to sue the spoilt brat I would - suspend his salary - let him go looking for it through court - I suspect there would be many willing to testify against him - he got many chances under 2 different managers
  14. EC: Future Forward leader has seven days to submit evidence on media shareholding BANGKOK, 25 April 2019 (NNT) - The Office of the Ombudsman has accepted a petition calling for the nullification of the March 24 general election and will consider the issue this week, as the Election Commission (EC) has accused the Future Forward Party leader, Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit, of violating MP rules on media shareholding and he has seven days after being informed to submit evidence against the accusation. Mr. Thanathorn posted a message on his Facebook page while he was in the Netherlands that he had been informed about the EC’s decision and will quickly return to Thailand for the unexpected situation. The EC Secretary-General, Pol. Col. Charungwit Phumma, said the EC had received a complaint about the New Economics Party, headed by Mingkwan Saengsuwan. According to the complaint, the New Economics Party allowed outsiders to have influence over its political activities. Pol. Col. Charungwit said the EC will verify the allegation before carrying out an investigation. The EC Secretary-General added that the commission is ready to prosecute MP candidates who contested in the general election even though they are aware that they are not qualified. If found guilty, they can face up to 10 years in prison and a 200,000-baht fine, and their electoral rights can be revoked for 20 years. The Secretary-General of the Office of the Ombudsman, Raksakecha Chaechai, said his office had accepted the petition calling for the nullification of the March 24 poll. The petition was submitted by a former member of the now-dissolved Thai Raksa Chart Party, Ruangkrai Leekitwattana. Mr. Raksakecha said the EC has been given until April 25 to defend its handling of the general election. He said the petition has to be considered, as it is an issue of public interest. After receiving an explanation from the EC, the Office of the Ombudsman will process all the information and will deliberate the issue within this week, before the commission will announce the official election results on May 9. The Secretary-General said the Ombudsman Office will have to thoroughly consider the issue and be able to answer all questions once it has made the decision. -- © Copyright nnt 2019-04-25

  18. Trump Jr enthusiastically welcomed an offer of help from the Russian government. He loved it. Manafort provided detailed campaign polling data to a Ukrainian oligarch linked to Russian Intelligence. These are hardly rejections. By all means, investigate the investigators. Keep the topic hot through-out the 2020 election year. Constantly remind voters of the criminals Trump employed in his 2016 campaign. Go for it.
  19. I live in Singapore (working, have a Non O "Retiree" Visa) but have a Condo in Bangkok... Pay Rent via Internet/Mobile Banking (Have a monthly reminder in my calendar) Pay Internet via Internet/Mobile Banking (They email me 1st of the month) My friend's GF normally pays my utility bills as I can't seem to get these electronically, I did ask the Condo Management what would happen if I missed 1 month (rare that I'm not there twice a month) & they said it would be no problem if I missed 1 or even 2 payments. All paid from my Thai Savings Account (You'll struggle to open a "Checking " account) would be a PiTA & expensive to pay from any of my SG/UK accounts. Not so easy to get a Thai Bank account nowadays & a bit Chicken & Egg when going down the Non-O Visa route, would advise you to get a Non O-A in the US before coming over & using that to open the account. If all else fails, contact Siam Legal (Offices are near T21 at Asoke) & for 3,000 THB they'll complete all of the paperwork and accompany you to the Bangkok Bank branch across the road to help you to open an account.
