  2. Thai wear helmets? You see them riding bikes without insurance with 2-6 people on one bike most of them children and nobody does something about that! Even children just over 10 years are riding bikes and they have licenses? But your are right as a foreigner you need to be carefull as the law in Thailand is hard on them. Maybe because that is were the money is?
  3. The Israeli government's claim is duly noted. Now from independent NGO Refugees International, based in Washington DC, 7 March 2024: Siege and Starvation: How Israel Obstructs Aid to Gaza Despite its claims to be facilitating humanitarian aid, research and analysis by Refugees International shows that Israeli conduct has consistently and groundlessly impeded aid operations within Gaza, blocked legitimate relief operations, and resisted implementing measures that would genuinely enhance the flow of humanitarian aid into Gaza. [...] Israeli policies and conduct are causing a man-made humanitarian crisis. Refugees International found routine and arbitrary denial of legitimate humanitarian goods from entering Gaza; a highly complicated Israeli inspection and approval process without clear or consistent instructions; frequent denials of humanitarian movements within Gaza; clear indications that Israel has failed to establish functional humanitarian deconfliction; and persistent attacks on Gaza’s humanitarian, health, food, power, and other critical infrastructure that have simultaneously debilitated the aid effort and escalated needs. https://www.refugeesinternational.org/reports-briefs/siege-and-starvation-how-israel-obstructs-aid-to-gaza/
  4. The little Russian has some fighting skills! Funny how that bloke in the black t-shirt thought he was tough and kept getting knocked over with ease 😆 I suppose being short, stocky and almost naked (like a greased pig) helped the Russian keep going. Would love to know the back story to this.
  5. I would have thought that you have gotton bored with talking about it by now .
  6. I just want to say that if Bob wants to come back and start posting again at some point, either under his same account pseudonym, or a new one, he is more than welcome by me. I enjoyed all of his posts for what they were and I didn't take any of them seriously or personally. I also assume nearly everyone else feels the same. Nobody truly disliked Bob or wished him any ill feelings. He was providing great entertainment for anyone who cared to be a part of it. And as fantastical, fictional, and of a trolling nature as his posts were, I think we all enjoyed the irony and sarcasm in them. Bob also dished out a lot of anger and distaste towards many people on the forum and pretty much everyone and everything else in the world for that matter. But that was the nature his online character that he created. He also used an avatar of Brick Top, a character from the movie Snatch who was a murderous London gangster. So Bob set the stage for rough and tough banter through both his avatar and the nature of his posts. And what he got back from others was merely the same. But I can say that anything I posted that seemed negative towards Bob was only mirroring the sort of dark humor that he was dishing out. Many of his posts also seemed insulting and hurtful towards other members, thus it makes no sense for him to suddenly point fingers at others and claim he's suddenly the target of an online conspiracy. He also started this thread to claim he was being stalked. Really? How? He intentionally posted unwarranted negative topics everyday in order to trigger people and to stimulate blowback and a surge of online banter. Then suddenly he's claiming he's a victim of negative feelings. But if you dish it out to begin with then you got to be able to take it. And that's what Bob did. He started it, but then didn't seem to like the negative sounding posts that came back. But it's just horses for courses. So, Bob, if you want to, please come back whenever you like. If you continue to act the same you will likely continue to get more of the same in return though. But if you change your tune then the way that people respond to you will also change. Bob, either way, wishing you all the best and hoping you find more joy and happiness in your future, whether that be here or anywhere else in the world. Stay well and stay great.
  7. As expected, crickets from the moron anti ev crowd, error 404 fault not found…
  8. Why does the date matter? An overnight fall of 10% in the £/$ exchange rate and 7% against the Euro on 23/6/16 is still a collapse, not a managed correction.
  9. The avarage income in Thailand is 10.000 baht a month. So 3,5 months without work? If this was a Thai/Thai accident my best guess is that it would have been settled at max 10.000 baht in total. But it's a "thai/farang" accident. They act and think as if they hit the jackpot in the casino? But the main thinhg here is that the farang who hired a car was mislead by the insurance he thought he had. And where is the Thai law to protect him? I am greatfull to the one publishing this that he is warning people against another scam which can take place. Thank you!
  10. And that would be before anyone found out the reason this individual was so angered. Yes?
  11. Thank you OMF, I will take your wisdom onboard. This is what I have noticed too. “I’m under so much pressure with this heavy debt” she said more than once to me.
  12. So so few have spent a Friday evenin in an Irish Pub in Ireland ?
  13. A 15 year old boy was savagely beaten and murdered by a group of five teenagers, who then concealed his body by throwing it into a reservoir in Chiang Mai. The assailants, aged between 15 and 17, admitted to the crime, citing a dislike for the victim’s character as the motive. Law enforcement officials apprehended five youths responsible for the brutal murder of a teenage boy in Mae Chaem, Chiang Mai. The victim, known only as A, was discovered yesterday in a water drainage pipe at the San Nong reservoir, following a search that began after he went missing on Tuesday night. Initially believed to have drowned while fleeing from an altercation, the subsequent investigation revealed a more sinister cause of death. An autopsy conducted by the local police and a hospital medical examiner found that the boy had sustained severe head injuries inflicted by a blunt object. This evidence, alongside witness statements, led to the conclusion that the boy’s death was a case of murder rather than an accident. The young victim’s body had been intentionally concealed in the water to cover up the crime. The investigative team from the Mae Chaem Police Station swiftly traced and detained all five suspects involved in the attack. During interrogation, the teenagers, whose ages range from 15 to 17, confessed to the crime. They expressed animosity towards the deceased, alleging that he had a disagreeable personality and had been a school dropout, which might have fueled their contempt. According to the suspects’ confessions, the group confronted the victim, which led to the boy fleeing in panic. The chase ended with the victim being caught and viciously attacked, and his body was carried and discarded into the water, reported KhaoSod. The police have since conducted a reenactment with the accused at the crime scene. In related news, two suspects were apprehended in connection with the fatal shooting of a village headman who was killed outside his home in Surat Thani province. -- The Thaiger 2024-03-29
  14. Thank you for the info.......That BYD plastic battery cover sounds a real no-no and obvious cost saving venture......
  15. Can’t complain about that ! Doesnt work that way in Oz ! Good luck.
  16. Well, who would have known there was money in smuggling coconuts.
  17. View Talay 5D only has VDSL, which I think is the equivalent of fibre-to-the-node in Australia, ie fibre to an equipment room on the ground floor of the building, and copper to each individual condo. Although it would be great to have fibre all the way, I was impressed with the speed when I was there last month - enough to stream 4K from Amazon Prime to my 4K TV with no interruptions. Amazing what can be done with copper.
  18. A combination pragmatist and fatalist, urgh, messy.
  19. Ok. You have so simply eliminated any consideration/contemplation of any genuine measure of intellectual validity or, in my estimation. entertainment.
  20. If you're friend wants to rent a bike next time - tell him to check out the travel insurance companies in his home country. Many don't cover biking but some do. All Clear's Gold policy (UK Company) covers biking and doesn't specify an engine size limit. It also gives you £15,000,000 (GBP) worth of emergency medical cover - much more than the amounts shown in the OP's example. The policy holder must hold the correct licence to ride the bike though and must be riding fully legally in all other respects (helmet etc.)
  21. Actually it does. Nissan Leaf being a fine example of a POS, hopefully corrected over the years. The Toyota, major recall, as couldn't keep the tire on. Leaf, way overpriced in TH, and only an idiot would buy, besides their horrendous track record if doing minimal research. The Toyota, just arrived or will in TH, AND hopefully they tweak out the issues, although it's also overpriced. Charging network, confirmed by EV owners, it's excellent an inexpensive in TH. Weekenders might hit a Q, though I haven't had that experience yet, just returning from driving 2 Sundays, and a Saturday & Friday, south of us. Typical app & options issues, as all cars seem to have when newly released, and most fixed OTA. No major drivetrain issues reported yet, from AN members, and we seem to own a variety of EVs from CH manufacturers. Some driver assist options can be annoying, especially in TH, as dependent on properly painted roadway, but can be disabled, as I did in our ZS. Probably would no matter how good it worked, as thought it was just annoying the way implemented, little nudges on the steering wheel, while it makes adjustments. Can't think of any other annoyance members have reported, though I'm sure you read them all also. One design flaw with BYD, the battery pack encased in plastic, and possible vulnerable to road hazards, causing a hole/breach that water/moisture may enter. After market fix is available for that. All ears, what you got that I didn't mention, appropriate to TH, and EVs on the market here.
