  2. If he really cared for his children, he wouldn't have them living in a foreign country, cut off from extended family (on both parents sides) and denied the charmed upbringing that he was afforded. I wonder how they will feel when they grow up and realize what the selfish acts of their parents cost them in terms of loving grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins etc. all surrounded by oppulence and public adoration. I wonder how they will feel when they read Spare and hear his father talking about cocaine use, losing his virginity and his frostbitten todger. I wonder how Archie will feel when he sees his name being used for a bogus charity set up as a tax dodge and to provide private jets and luxury accomodation to his grifting parents as they fly around preaching about saving the planet.
  3. The son of a deputy minister was given a suspended jail term, had his driver’s license suspended for six months, was ordered to perform 12 hours of community and fined 4,000 baht after he was found guilty of drunk driving. The suspect, whose name was not disclosed by the police, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, after he refused to stop at a police checkpoint on Bangkok’s Ratchadapisek Road and rammed his BMW into road barrier early this morning. At about 3.30am today, police manning a checkpoint at the mouth of Ratchadapisek Soi 31 indicated to a BMW to pull over for a check, but the driver refused to stop and rammed his car into the barrier, after which the police made the arrest. 4. Wonder if they also informed the police as to whom he was purchasing drugs from ?
  5. I think they arrested him because he's on the lam from a drug charge in Samui. Police checked Hartas’s criminal history and found that he had escaped arrest in a drug case in Koh Samui and sought refuge in Koh Pha Ngan. Hartas confessed to fleeing from the arrest in Koh Samui, stating that he resorted to begging for food. Not sure I agree with your assessment.
  6. As I've stated many times over the years, a lot of posts get removed that don't need to be, simply because they quote posts that break the rules. Stop discussing moderation. Stop quoting discussions on it.
  7. When was that and which country issued those "identically-numbered passports"?
  8. Thank the gods for the rain, this year! This past hot-season's heat, this 2024, has been one record books. I know that I feel better, right now, looking outside my picture window at the buckets of rain now pouring down and cascading off my roof. It's a new day! Things can only become better. I plan to do a lot more exercise this raining season. How will you, too benefit? Best regards, And, now in the rain....., Gamma Note: I do not even care if the power fails for awhile!..... Coming down in BUCKETS!
  9. That alone confirms that any remittance done in a year someone is non-resident for tax purposes is tax-free, regardless of tax residency when the money was earned.
  10. Xi is a modern day Mao, though at least he is not murdering his people by the millions, nor causing massive famines. The man is very dangerous, Chinese politics are super toxic and the last thing Thailand wants to do is being indebted to these guys, who appear to want to take over the entire Pacific region if not the world. The irony is that Thailand desperately needs help with its railways, as it's making very little progress and what progress it is making is taking forever. They spent 70 years ignoring the fact that the nation desperately needed rail transport for cargo and it has resulted in some of the most choked highways in Southeast Asia, with trucks of all sizes constantly clogging both lanes. Getting on the highway here is just no fun at all.
  11. what country? US passports are ALL new numbers when new passport issued regardless they can see ur travel history Same for UK, renewed passports always have a new number.
  12. OP, this is a very black and white topic. To put it simply the stamps are Real and genuine. However the financial requirements have been avoided. In many instances the stamps are not issued by immigration office where you live. Suggest you read up on discussion of this topic and make your own call..
  13. And the biased CNN did not report the part when Hillary organised a "stop the steal" protest and sent her supporters to assault the Capitol in order to block the certification of Trump's victory! 😆

  15. Yes its always sad to hear how many fatalities there are and as other members have pointed out these numbers are deaths at the scene of the accidents. Unfortunately the authorities do nothing sensible to educate Thai drivers, there is no real consistent policing of law breakers, for motor bikes which are the largest fatality's ie not wearing helmets, actually having a licence to drive a motor bike, driving on the correct side of the road observing road lane lines painted on the road, waiting until there is no oncoming traffic before over taking, looking both ways at an intersection before making a turn, maximum 2 on bike etc etc. So I blame the department of transport and the Road police for failing in what they are paid to do. Tourists hiring motorbikes should have to have a valid licence from their own country, everyday I see newbies who have no riding experience what so ever so another accident waiting to happen. For car & pickup drivers again do licence checks, educate drivers that those lines painted on the road are actually there for a reason, if you want to cross lanes check the way is clear and indicate prior. A red light means stop but everyday I see vehicle and especially bikes running red lights. At roundabouts you must give way to traffic on the roundabout, give way to vehicles on your right when turning. Over loaded pickups is a common sight but the police do nothing. An indication of Thailands third world status and peoples greed where money takes precedence over the law and common sense, Its not going to change anytime soon!
  16. Any indication of day/night usage split - To size your battery pack? Peak load - To size your inverter? Do you actually want to be off-grid or maintain a PEA supply for backup? Finger in the air: - 40-50 x 340W panels @ 2,500-3000 Baht each - say 150,000 Baht (that's 100m2 of panels!!) 30kWh battery pack - say 4kUSD (as a kit from China) so about 150,000 Baht 10kW hybrid inverter (2 x 5kW) - 90k Baht the pair. So, a ballpark 400k Baht for the kit, add 50-100% if you use a contractor to install.
  17. While the number of deaths and injuries on Thai roads is unexceptable , there are wider complications ,some of these people that have ded , would have been breadwinners for families , workers in positions that will now need to be filled, these peoples deaths & injuries are going to cause a lot of problems for Thailand .....RIP those that have died and a swift recovery for those injured , regards worgeordie
  18. I made the mistake of getting out on the road the day before Songkran started and it was a nightmaret. There was a lot more traffic on the highways during the holidays, so of course there's going to be more accidents, of course there's going to be more fatalities. This isn't really news.
  19. Really? You know every member of the British Public? We are? Who is we? The easiest thing to do to "stop hearing about him and his trashy wife" it to stop reading the articles about them. Yet, here you are. Strange. He isn't and never was a tax pilferer.
  20. Almost everything has become progressively worse since then....but perhaps that was a joke?
  21. who is panicking? or perhaps it's in your head, just like your 'i know how the Islands work' post
  22. A road accident claimed the lives of five family members when their Isuzu D-Max pickup truck veered off the road and collided with an electricity pole in Nakhon Phanom province. The incident, which occurred at 12.30pm yesterday, involved a vehicle carrying six relatives from Amnat Charoen province. The driver, 42 year old Kanchai Sarakun was among the deceased. The latest developments in this tragedy unfolded at the Wat Thatthi Khun funeral hall in the Na Kae district, where authorities and public health officials facilitated the identification and handover of the deceased to their relatives for funeral rites. The fatalities included the driver Kanchai Sarakun, his 62 year old mother, Somsri Sarakun, his niece, 16 year old Kanakorn Sarakun, and his aunts, 82 year old Som Jandawong and 77 year old Saen Panichkul. Kanchai’s wife, 42 year old Paichit Boochaphan survived with minor injuries. Saen Panichkul’s daughter, 40 year old Piyaporn Panichkul revealed that she had argued with her mother, attempting to dissuade her from the journey due to its length and the fact that her mother was not accustomed to such long-distance travel. Despite the disagreement, her mother had hastily packed and left with the others. Upon hearing the news of the accident, Piyaporn’s husband, 48 year old Pisit Rinthong quickly gathered some clothes and left with four other relatives from Amnat Charoen to visit the injured at the hospital in Na Kae. While en route, they received a call informing them that Pisit’s mother-in-law and aunt had succumbed to their injuries, reported KhaoSod. Ambulances from the Petch Kasem Foundation in Amnat Charoen, Yasothon-Pa Tiu, and other foundations from Sakon Nakhon were on hand to transport the bodies to their hometowns for the final farewell. In related news, a tragic accident occurred on Wednesday at 2.45pm in the Hod district of Chiang Mai when a six-wheeled truck’s brakes reportedly failed, causing it to crash into a procession of revellers. The incident resulted in the death of two individuals and serious injuries to two others.
