  2. Well well well Myanmar / Burma is the second-largest county to produce Opium..... Is Clown face going to do a deal with Junta, to help fund his Murderous Coup, he helped to get the Junta's money out, so nothing would surprise me with this Govt. anymore.
  3. The fake electors are such bozos they actually filmed the meeting where they signed fake certification letters, which they subsequently sent to Congress and the National Archives. They did the deed in Dec 2020. One of the indicted members of trump's staff, who was involved in the fake production, is named Cristina Bobb. To give an example of 'you can't make this stuff up', Ms Bobb was just appointed chief of the Election Integrity Committee of the Republican National Committee. trumpers...LOL
  4. I've been to this place many times and OP's story is so much BS. They are very professional doing facials only and can only wonder what is going on in his head about what was happening 😞
  5. I was in Tesco Lotus yesterday, and a Russian seemed to be complaining loudly that ONE apple that he had brought to the cash out till from the fruit and veg dept didn't have a price on it!
  6. I have now narrowed my 'Credit Eating' down to 2 TXT which come in regularly. They tell me I will be lucky if I keep Silver Fish etc, etc. Names Taiduang TamnaiChock Problem is it seems to be hitting the Credit by maybe 20 Bhat a time. From outside Thailand is there any Control Code to stop all txts - best for the moment. Control Codes like #123# work fine from my location. I would put a STOP on them but No Tel for the Txts
  7. very well done Poland, Putin will be pissssed but you shouldn't back up and after Ukraine you could be next Poland ready to host NATO members' nuclear weapons to counter Russia, president says https://au.yahoo.com/news/poland-ready-host-nato-members-201800585.html
  8. For how long? A few seconds? My 12000 BTU Mitsu Normal usually takes just over a kilowatt when running. Does that mean SEVEN kilowatts to start up without tripping a 20 amp breaker.
  9. is anybody surprised with Russia veto, I am not Russia vetoes UN vote on stopping arms race in outer space https://au.yahoo.com/news/russia-vetoes-un-vote-stopping-045033496.html
  10. Post a serious thread. Clearly the Ed visa is just a means to stay in Thailand. There are better options. You could obtain a METV giving 9 month stay and learn Spanish privately, perhaps online.
  11. I assume he was correct! PS; What was the sentence?
  12. Same as many say to you now on this forum!
  13. Despite what many would like to think, it isn't just Russians.
  14. Have they released the number dying due to the smoke (or dust as they seem to prefer to call it)?
  15. So? The National Enquirer is a rag that tells porkies all the time, I’ll give you that. But Pecker is under oath, if he starts telling lies on the stand he’ll commit perjury, which the judge probably won’t take very kindly to. So I’m pretty sure that what Pecker is saying is what actually happened, a.k.a. the truth.
  16. Samui is now absolutely full of the same types weather Russian Ukrainian brit Aussie Israeli ext ect . Doesn't help that the bib here or on the other islands are the most corrupt going. Was told years ago (15 +) buy Aussie and pommie consulates ( embassy officials) that bophut police station the most corrupt they have to deal within thailand. Wake up old samui expats (decent ones anyway) . This place is going same way as phuket.
  17. No censorship. It's about forcing a CCP controlled Chinese firm to sell its shares to private non-Chinese investors.
  18. I thought I'd try and post something whilst sitting uncomfortably in my computer chair, although I haven't been out in the evenings in Patong, I have been out a few times to Bangkok Phuket hospital, accompanied by my daughter and her mother and also been to Big C here in Patong on about three or four occasions, clinging onto their shoulders whilst I shuffled along, trying hard not to fall over. And they have been great. As regards Big C, I went along today and the long queues at the checkouts have disappeared, almost as if by magic, and many of those folk in those queues were Russians, with a few Chinese thrown in, so it would seem there has been an exodus, and coupled with the fact that the traffic has improved somewhat, I would appear to be right? On that subject, whilst coming out of Big C there is a machine in which you put your parking card, and pay a fee so that you can exit the car parking area, but things were not going smoothly for a Russian woman this time! She was shouting at an employee, who I have to say handled himself very well, suggesting that the amount of 120 baht which was showing on the machine for her to pay to retrieve her card, was wrong and it wasn't her card!! No matter how much she shouted at this guy, he basically said they could review the camera in the area and that would show if she had inserted her card and what the time of it was, therefore showing if the card was hers or not. He handled it well, and I had left before it was solved, but kudos to the Thai guy in this situation because he tried to explain what happens and she just wouldn't listen. Staying on that nationality, the restaurant at the entrance to Nanai 6, "Santorini on Nanai" which was bought by Russians about three months ago, is now back on the market at a quite remarkable price of 2 million baht!!!! For this one gets a small restaurant type place which would seat probably eight people at best, and two chefs and a helper, according to the advertisement on Facebook! It is being marketed by Russian estate agent and at 2 million baht is far and away in cloud cuckoo land, especially seeing that it is in a row of about five similar sized "shops" in which one would be lucky to be able to "swing a cat", one of which was a laundry and has been closed because of lack of business, but is now open again and bought by some other Thai lady hopefuls, and the only price point is that one of the shops of the same size sold for around 250,000 baht a short while ago, so the asking price for Santorini is either a joke, or they are hoping another desperate Russian will buy it? Not only that, the recently refurbished and renamed hotel and restaurant just metres across the road from this, offers a substantial menu with different cuisines available, whereas Santorini has just Greek food. It will be interesting to see what happens to this. Whilst my Thai daughter and her Thai mother (my ex-GF) were taking care of me, we would often discuss current events around the dinner table and according to them, the "word out on the streets" from the Thai community was not very favourable for the Russians here, with a number of instances being that the Russians ordered the Thai food in a café, ate a great deal of it and then suggested that it was no good or too spicy and refused to pay for it. This as well as a few of these folk doing a "runner" before paying the bill did not endear them to the Thai community in general by the sounds of it. As I have not been out and about much at all, the above is all I have as regards the latest news in Patong!
