katnip
Perhpas this should be in the "looming disasters" thread, but according to Chiang Mai Mail, haemorraghic fever shares the top 10 list of common diseases in Chiang Mai with diarrhoea . (That's a nasty spelling test in one sentence , not to mention the poor grammar. ) I gather the h'c fever here is the Dengue type - correct ? If so, seems there's not much you can do about it other than eliminate mosquitoes and standing water. My question : what do you do about pools of standing water on places like upstairs balconies ? Is there some way to treat it or do you just try to sweep it away ?

chownah
I'd solve the standing water problem by leaving some chairs out....the water will get tired of standing eventually...and....voila...the standing water problem is solved.
katnip
Where do you buy the "Abate" stuff ? The birds like to bathe in and drink from the water, though. I guess this substance would harm them. So perhaps I will just try to sweep it away.
