  1. I have recently helped a few foreigners in a similar situation (wanting the lowest cost funeral). Where the actual death happened at the hospital where the person was rushed to at the end stage, a death certificate was easily issued, and on the basis of this, a police clearance was issued. Where the foreigner had died at home, the police came for a routine enquiry and spoke to the neighbours and concluded that there were no suspicious circumtances and the autopsy was waived and police clearance issued.

At the administrative office of local temple, we informed them of our requirement for low cost funeral and submitted the originals + copy of police clearance. For a sum of 11,000 Baht, a few monks chanted prayers for 10 minutes and the body was cremated thereafter. An official cremation certificate was issued.

Next day we collected the ashes/bones in a ziplock bag and immersed it in the river. Last bit was going to the embassy with police clearance + cremation certificate to get the passport cancelled. Pension was automatically stopped on passport cancellation. This was at a temple somewhere in Onnut Road in Bangkok.

Oh... here we go...    this one's an absolute lightening rod to a the Brit-hating bigots....

I'll start... Why is always the British Causing Problems ?

I reckon his phone charger caught fire, he used his fire-extinguisher, distinguished the fire thus preventing the spread of flames and protecting numerous residents of the hotel...  the damage was caused by the power of the extinguisher...    the guys a hero !!!!....

Oh... can we have a 'quality family destination comment' too pls....

Perhaps also a 'good guys in bad guys out'...

... a few 'deport him' comments wouldn't go a miss...

... ah yearh.. 'a few years in the hilton will learn him' !!!!

    :giggle:

I don't know what I'm more cynical of... the frequency of my countrymen behaving in this utterly chavy-trashy-low-class manner... or the obvious comments such actions draw...

What are a vast majority of older western men in SE for? A better life!

    Yes its the MOI interview.

They are inviting 2020 applicants now, so you maybe called as stated by your SB Officer.

The usual wait time from NIA to MOI interview is 18 months but it varies considerably for many applicants.

Standard wait times include 18 - 30 months

Getting worried in case the documents go missing somewhere. It will be too much of a pain to start all over again -

Thats not the case, all the documents are handled responsibly by the SB Police, NIA, MOI.

I have never heard that the Ministry lost documents of a particular applicant, So dont worry in this regard.

Thank you @Dr. Joy, this is really comforting!

  5. I took a walk on a few roads during the last 4 days (Thonglor, Ekamai, Onnut, around Phra Khanong). There were some groups on open pickup trucks and outside shophouses with water hoses and guns, but no one bothered me when they saw me dressed in smart casual clothes with leather shoes.

Another Thai nationality Interview was held on 30-MAR-2023

    17 Ladies

    44 Men

March turned out better for the applicants. 2 interviews in a month.

I assume that the 'Thai Nationality interview' you have referred to is the MOI big committee interview. Any idea when this batch would have completed the NIA interview and had their documents submitted by the SB to MOI?

I had my NIA interview in September 2020 and got a confirmation from my SB case handler that all documents were sent to MOI in October 2020. I am still waiting for the MOI interview call. The SB case handler told me to expect it by end of 2023 or early 2024. Seems abnormally long to me. Although I am in a stable job with a PR and not in a hurry, getting worried in case the documents go missing somewhere. It will be too much of a pain to start all over again.

Normally, I'd disagree and give the guy the benefit of the doubt.

He only has two posts, which means it is LIKELY a troll.

It's a non-Spanish name, and I don't know ONE American who would ask TVF a question like this.

He is getting married (looking to married and not "marry") and wants to ask us instead of using the normal channels.

    More TROLLish evidence.

Hey, I want to get married to a ladyboy and bring them back to the States.  I wonder what paperwork I need..................I know, I'll ask TVF!!!!!

    yea, no.

"...and bring THEM back to the states."?? Is he planning to marry a bunch of ladyboys?
