The BKK US Embassy replied with a canned response. Nancy Pelosi's office (my congress person) never even responded.

In a nutshell... we are nothing to them...

Next time I see people putting down the Chinese, the French and the Australian I will have cannon fodder to shoot at them... our beloved first nations in standing throw us to the wolves and the even feed the wolves by giving them millions of vaccines. A/hole Trudeau said he would give... hmmm 100 000 000 vaccines or so... I need to fact check that... but it is somewhere around those numbers... screw Canada and the US... I am really peed at my two countries... neither of which seems to give a hilt for us...

Canada during the 2004 tsunami couldn't even be bothered to assemble and dispatch staff or help to the affected places... I REMEMBER!

  2. Wife says... 555... this was not a government decree but a voluntary shut down by the shops themselves. Were it a government decree the gvt would have to pay compensation... something they don't want and this is why there is no lock down even if it is really needed. The almighty Baht rules...

  3. In University, while doing my Bachelors of Education, a professor once told me that one day learning will be done online... I was angry at his proposal thinking it would kill the teaching jobs... However, today in view of the situation, I fully agree with his prophecy and I find appalling when I see parents crying to get their kids back in schools. I wonder whether they realize or not that they are playing Russian roulette by having their kids back at school at this point and time. For now, until the situation is safer I fully support online teaching and keeping the kids safe... anyone who disagrees better have some darn good arguments.

  4. Since when is Thailand an emerging economy?

The same was said about China (emerging economy) a few years back... China is dispensed of controlling their emissions and watching their pollution of our planet...

Is China still considered an emerging economy considering that they own more greenback in their reserves than any other nation in the world except maybe the US itself?

  5. When I read this and think about the post here recently about letting schools open and how the TV members chewed me out for saying that I thought schools should not open any time soon, the only thing that comes to mind is that it has been lucky so far that the juvenile population has not been hit as hard. However, the fact that they are carriers and that not much attention is drawn to them worries me. Parents are in a rush to send their kids off to school... unprotected... and at risk of bringing home the virus by having been exposed to their schoolmates. Being a teacher myself, but not currently working, I would not want to risk my life for the greedy and selfish parents who want business as usual when obviously it is not.

I am just waiting in fear of the day where the variant starts to do to kids what it has been doing to adults and then I will unfortunately be in the 'I told you so bleachers'. I really am worried that the virus will mutate and start to affect the kids... and isn't it strange that we have had sci-fi movies warning us of things to come now we are on the verge of actually living it?
