Agree except for the teacher bit. No teacher should be at school, no students should be at school and all schools nation wide should be closed.
Last time I said that I was bashed around... likely by lazy sods with kids around the house that are bored of having to take care of their brew... I totally agree with you... as a teacher myself I do not want to be around kids, or students at this time... It is bad enough when their is no pandemic kids are virus generating machines... now with the pandemic... OMG rather not be in contact with hundreds of virus factories...- 1

I and my 11 year old son started the difficult journey from Hawaii through the morass of documentation and expense to get to Thailand 10 days ago.
Just out of curiosity... you come from Hawaii which is, in my opinion, way better than Thailand except for the girls... why on earth would you want to come here?

Teachers in the Netherlands don't want to open up yet (some do some dont) so its not as if all teachers want to open up. Quite a bit resistance in the Netherlands. So i believe you when you say there are plenty of teachers who don't want to open. I am sure there are also those who want to open up. Especially those who don't get paid as much now.
The thing is... many teachers have the choice to teach from home as my wife does... or some have the choice to teach from the school facilities... either way most teachers get paid the same salary. Personally I would rather teach from home... or the school without the kids... experienced teachers will tell you that it is super easy to get sick from the kids... every year I get a nasty flu or cold and usually it came from the kids... so anyone who says they rather be facing the kids is suicidal or has a death wish...

I would have no issue if I was a teacher.
All the teachers I talk to want to get back in the classroom, not stick with online learning. I guess you are a little out of touch with your old profession these days.
Yeah... it would be good for the kids to have a young incompetent and otherwise unknowledgeable wanna be in front of the class...
BTW I am sure you have a great circle of friends who are teachers... or maybe invisible friends...

Seems a ridiculous decision due to the very low numbers in Chonburi.
Well... why don't you roll the dice and go work in a school yourself?
As a teacher, fortunately not working now due to convalescence, I am glad I don't have to face 1 000 people a day in closed quarters.

They should cut the rate and hold it there to help folks. However, that would ensure interest rates for savings account go to almost zero which is the downside.
Hmmm that wouldn't change much when I look at the menial rate they offer me on my 800 000 in the bank right now...

US expats plead for vaccine help in viral Thailand
This was the title of an article not too long ago... seems to me it was being scoffed at...
Yet no sycophantic as the West is... they will 'help' Thailand... Seems to me they should clean their house before trying to clean others' houses.... and even China will be helping their own stranded here...
Were the foot on the other shoe I am not sure Thailand would help the US and it seems to me the US... and Canada where I am from should take care of their own rather than be philanthropic with the taxpayers money.
If I had a rocket launcher... (quote Bruce Cockburn)

Thailand has one of the highest (if not the highest) disparity between the obscenely rich and the poor
something like 80% of the wealth held by 1% of the population.
Isn't that lower than the world statistic where 95% of the wealth is owned by the 1%?

Too bad for them they can't find a way to capitalize on traffic... cos even if it is bleak for businesses the traffic there on Sukhumvit and the road to Central and near Foodland are still congested as usual. There must be a way to make traffic pay... ; (

Today on the Krungsri currency exchange the Greenback and Canadian Loonie jumped ahead again... happy days...
Guys stop putting these forecasters and bankers down... they are doing a wonderful job. Maybe we will see a 30bht to the dollar Loonie and maybe a 35bht to the dollar Greenback if these guys keep doing their jobs as well as they have so far...
Happy days!!!!

Legalize marijuana and pardon and release those in jail for simply enjoying what should be legal in the first place... I bet that would free up at least 50% occupancy right then and there...

"Female motorcyclist, 51, seriously injured after crashing into SUV driving in the opposite lane in Pattaya area"
Hmmmm

Looking at the heading... reading what a poster wrote and then double checking the caption I am finally understanding what the writer of this article is trying to say...
"after crashing into SUV driving in the opposite lane in Pattaya area"
This sentence is terribly misleading ... Who is driving in the opposite lane?
Sometimes TV reporters really ... muffle things up... they should do some proofreading before posting... utterly confusing article...

Thai borders to open up after mass vaccinations
in Thailand News

Will they ever make up their minds?
Is it more important to make money or save lives?
Right now a 4th wave is imminent with the new variants... why talk of opening borders until we know where we are going?
