I've lived in Phuket for 22 years and always found the vast majority of Thais here to be pleasant and respectful. Maybe it's a reaction to you and your whinging attitude Bob. Just saying.

'Assisted passage' is a service offered by the airlines, not the airport. It's specifically to help older people. Why not use it?

Use the age card and ask for 'assisted passage' when you check in at the airport. It was offered to me last time I flew (I'm 79). I was plonked in a wheelchair and taken to the front of the queue to check in etc. Wheelchair waiting for me when I landed and again straight through immigration, no problems. Good luck. 100 baht tip to the guy pushing the wheelchair.

You may think you're everybody, but you're only a few. Because I'm some of them, so there!

Just to clarify for everyone. My wife enrolled at one of these 'easy pass' driving schools. She had 3 'lessons' and now has a legitimate driving licence to drive a car! One small problem - she can't drive! This why I'm asking for information from anyone who has experience of a good, professional driving school in Phuket.
I've already Googled but I would like to hear from anyone who has first hand experience.

Unfortunately Thais do not learn how to drive competently. I had to teach my gf how to drive after she had completed her lessons in Koh Samui and passed her test, the test being a total farce.
That's the kind of driving school I want to avoid. Many Thais are competent drivers, having learned at a good driving school. I'm not looking for a 'paid for' guaranteed pass.

I should have mentioned, this is for my wife, I'm not looking for an easy pass driving school. I want her to be a totally competent driver after the course. Thank you for your input Schlog.

IMHO I would do it yourself. Renewed mine last year and did 2 trips from Pattaya. Stayed overnight each time and got hotel and nice meal. Made a nice change. Or you could just give the money to an agent.
I'm in Phuket

I have used a locksmith in Kata. Does house call. His small shop is in Kata along the Patak Road (main road), 20m after the Dome Kata Resort on the left towards Karon Post Office. Sorry, I don't have his contact number because I went directly to his shop to ask. He speaks some English.
Thank you for the information Kopitiam.

What mucus thinners are you using? Also has anyone checked your sputum for fungal disease?

It depends on your mindset, my brain still works at 18 years old, but my age of my 75 year ole body at times does not agree. I spent 6 months in the USA Hubing out of Orlando driving an RV throughout North America and the other in Thailand Hubing out of our house in Ubon where we also travel. Family's genes are pretty good and 83 is out of the question. I'll be pushing my life into the 90's looking at 100. I am "LUCKY and BLESSED!" Happy Travels and GOOD LUCK TO ALL!!!
PS: georgegeorgia you need an "Attitude Check and should be a little more Positive!"
Hubing??

Would be helpful if you'd actually mention what country's passport is involved. If you're talking about renewing a US passport, there isn't anyway an agent can do that for you (read the embassy/consulate website as what's required is plainly spelled out).
UK passport.

Are there any agents in Phuket who deal with passport renewal?
