Disagree mate, IMO we have a big squad and this comp is important to give players a run out and blood youngsters.
Keep Maguire out of the team and we seem to do alright!
And a shot at CL qualification

Nice attacking line-up but Fabio not up to it yet. Tepid first half. Firmino came on and we started looking dangerous as we build momentum, Klopp brings on Milner at right-back, and Robbo at left, Tsimi was having a good game. These subs killed that impetus.
Best this team can hope for is top 4 and a run in Europe. <deleted>
Dreadful, boring, <deleted>, <deleted>, <deleted>, <deleted>

Not overly impressed with the Newcastle display, but it's hard to expect more from what's on the park. Elliott and Carvalho, 20 & 19 best players on the park again and being looked to for creativity. Can't expect them to wear that pressure every match. And yet another midfield injury, with Hendo now out with a muscle injury.
They thought they where getting Tchouaméni, Real Madrid scuppered that. Apparently there was no alternative so they stick with AOC and Keita. AOC has been out for 2 months already with a hamstring, and Keita has been one of he worst injury prone signings in Klopp's era.
I don't think they were going to go after anyone, even a week ago. It was. only after Hendo got injured they dipped in to the market. He's another Ozan Kabak. last minute desperation body in. One who has had 15 injuries in 4 seasons. Completely uninspiring.
As Klopp said, we need to take greater risks in the market. Can't keep cutting corners and expect Klopp maintain pace with City, year on year. Chuck some money at it!!
Interesting to see how we will line up in midfield tonight, another start for Milner I guess. <deleted>.
Dioga back is great news, Thiago next week.
Will Nunes start.....

We were terrible the first half. All bitty with no cohesion and they scored from 2 set pieces. In fact that was the only shots Palace had all day. We need to address that.
Second half was a different story. Absolutely dominated and Haaland in the right position for 3 well worked goals after Silva got us back in it. I'm also loving Alvarez. Even though he's only having minor roles, the energy he brings is contagious to the rest of the lads. We need to try and stop going 2 goals behind
Haaland looks incredible, the final piece. If only Silva would leave!

Klopp and his "seven year itch"
"There is a temptation to see the current travails at Anfield as part of the natural life cycle of a Klopp team"
"In Klopp’s seventh season at Mainz they were relegated from the Bundesliga after a stirring period of ascent. In Klopp’s seventh season at Borussia Dortmund there was a dramatic collapse that left them in the relegation zone at Christmas and eventually precipitated his departure from the club"
Fortunately there is no correlation between any of these events, a bit like Klopp losing finals rubbish, he went and won how many since....
The reality is, we've had a bunch of injuries, new systems, and knackered players, complacent players who needed a rocket up their <deleted>.

What a horrendous start, you really can't account for the amount of injuries we had, but it's not good enough from the players on the field.
I'm not sure these new patterns of play, positioning are working. It's like they've not played with each other at times. The set up is very much for a proper number 9, who still has 2 games of suspension to go. It's pushed Salah much wider and I don't see the benefit of pushing him further from goal.
Against United there was a bigger problem, no fight. A complete lack of urgency, leadership, no cohesion. Not what we are used to seeing, but it needs to change quick.
Klopp has come out and spoke about having money and needing players, this has never happening before. I hope there is time to get someone decent in to that midfield.
This club will drop to mid table when Klopp leaves. FSG need to back him now.

Poor Jimmy. He still has the heart but not much else.
Yeah he is not meant to be starting football matches for us, his part is supposed to be late on in a match experience support.

what an absolute shower of <deleted>.
Henderson and Milner, it's like 2015 again. 69 years between the 2 of them, the slowest midfield pairing in league football, no creativity, no pace what the <deleted> did we expect.
Spend some <deleted> money you pack of Seppo <deleted>!

We really need to buy some players, too many are knock/injury prone. Attacking mid, central attacker.....Now!!!
And for the first time in his Liverpool career Klopp has said it;
"We have more injuries than we would have imagined and it would be cool to have another midfielder in, of course. Then there is also another fact that I am not in charge of what we can spend. That's the situation."

It's going to be like playing at Goodison Park on Monday. United are more likened to Everton than United in Ferguson's reign. To be fair to United this is what they generally were before Ferguson. Maybe they are just settling back in to their natural state.
Mad time to be playing them, both teams need to get their season on track only 2 games in. Both need to win, we've got issues, they've got issues.
I've no idea what United we will be playing, is he going to keep with the new style or will they close up shop and counter?
If we can get an early goal it could get messy. Don't fancy us if we go behind.
We really need to buy some players, too many are knock/injury prone. Attacking mid, central attacker.....Now!!!

It's a bit of a worry when James Milner and Nat Phillips start. Is it a coincident that the head doctor leaves the club and then every one starts pulling up with muscle injuries.
Anyway to the game, we should have been 3 or 4 up in the first 20 minutes. A lot of shots not on target, but many from scoring positions.
I thought Harvey Elliot looked brilliant in that first half.
Nat Phillips was caught so badly by Zaha for the goal. How we are already down to our 5th choice centre back is beggars belief. Again though, we know which lads are injury prone. It's no surprise Matip or Gomez are injured, it's a surprise that Nat Phillips is even at the club still.
Darwin Nunes is a complete <deleted> for rising to the taunt, you must understand the importance of the situation, Firmino out, Jota out. We have no recognised central attacker now, for at least 3 weeks. And he can't train with the team to help integrate as he won't be part of the plan.
So again, we sold Mane, Origi and Minamino, and brought in Nunes. and I don't think it was the intention to thrust him straight in to the limelight. He looks like he needs more time, but because we got rid of players and the other 2 are injured he's been left with the responsibility and it looks to be weighing on him. And now he has <deleted> us further.
After the send off we looked better, and to be fair that's not easy with 10 men.
Luis Diaz goal was incredible, and I hope he continues his rise, absolute beast of a player.
Fabio Carvalho looks a star in the making, calm, confident and skilled. Nearly put the winner away.
Football wasn't bad, but injuries and suspensions are ready to ruin our chances already, such are the margins when up against City.
Couldn't be a better time for United to play us.

EPL shake up this season. World cup on any player's minds?
Next up; United v Reds. A draw would do nicely.
EPL shake up, if we hadn't give the Money City a run this league would be like the German. At least we are pushing them.

More like 6 weeks for Thiago.
I'm not sure there is only one player that could contribute to this team at this point in time. Jude Bellingham appears to have deal in place for next season is the apparent reason we would not buy another midfielder. Or maybe is the 3 kids Jones, Carvalho, Elliot who are entrusted with the task.
Considering the regulatory of injuries between AOC, Thiago, Keita, Fabinho, and Hendo surely we need another.

Another planned protest by not going to the match Monday week?

Filling in for the much missed Wilai, it seems Alcantara will miss about 4 weeks with hammy knock.
Big loss that and I don't think we are going to dip in to the market again.
