    I did mine recently at the office in the bottom floor of the Sunee Grand. Quick, painless, and no waiting. I needed the medical form, old one year license, and yellow book. I had work permit and passport, but was not asked for it.

    You mean City Mall right? (The mall next to Sunee). Is it the corner room at the basement where also TOT has an office?

    I just went there last week to renew my drivers license.

    They gave me 5 years, everything was prepared and ready. But then they saw that i had a tourist visa. Then they started to discuss internally about the rules. There were two ladies who were supiriors, one said 5 years and the other said 1 year. But the ended up giving me 1 year. If i had a non-O or non-B, then they would have given me 5 years.

    Thank you for the warnings. I have experienced songkran in Ubon, Yassothon, BKK and Pattaya. My experience of songkran was best in Ubon, this is why I am taking Jr to Issan rather than Pattaya where I used to live.

    I am not planning on driving, rather we will be using the death race bus network. :ph34r:

    My understanding is that the "official" days vary with locations like Chiang Mai being the earliest about 11 April and further south being the later. In this thread; http://www.thaivisa....ive-to-pattaya/ the town was having their festival on 17 and 18 April. My hope was to have an extra day or 2 of silliness with a little planning.

    I have promised a lady I will be in Kalasin for a few days or so over songkran, so I was trying to do a little forward planning to avoid getting trapped in the village. :whistling: Another part of the plan was to visit the temple my brother spent a year or so living in, it is out of Ubon. All part of Jr's education.

    I am looking into starting an IT consultancy company in Thailand, and are looking for the price level of these services offered to customers.

    What is the normal rate that IT consultants charge companys per hour.

    The work field is to offer knowledge on infrastructure; Network, security, servers, virtualization, etc. And to small and mid-sized companies.

    You MUST have a TAT License to handle inbound tours [100,00 baht for inbound/200,000 baht for outbound], beside that, it's the regular paperwork to setup any Co.,ltd. in Thailand.

    Thanks steppenwolf. Can you be more specific about the TAT license? What you mean by inbound/outbound? I also heard about those fees, but that was regarding to 100k for having a thai only website and the 200k was for having an international website. I also heard some people mention that it was a deposit you will get back (some day).

    I am looking into the possibility of starting af travel company in Thailand.

    This company will arrange day tours for farangs with a local driver, not a certified tour guide.

    My question is, how is the Thai law on this matter?

    Must i specify that its "only" a driver and not a guide? And will that give any problems?

    Must i register with TAT in this setup? And if so, how about the expense?

    Are there any advantages in making this company registered in another country?

    Are there any other issues that is worth mentioning?
