  1. "Thon-Sohn" are trees, not shrubs and thus totally useless for your purpose. I have about 35 Rai of these trees growing on our farm in Kabin Buri, BTW, "Thon" means "Tree" (Thon Sahk = Teak Tree, etc.)

Much more suitable for your purpose, would be "Cha-Daaht", which IS a shrub, which is very easy to grow and consists of a dense 'togetherness' of small, shiny, dark-green leaves.

You have seen Cha-Daaht shrubs, but you may not have realized it: whenever you see a "garden-sculpture' say of a Deer, Elephant etc., (how I hate these, by the way !) this consists of a light steel-wire frame over-grown with a shrub: that is the Cha-Daaht I am referring to.

Cha-Daaht can grow up to a couple of meters in height, on its own merits and is very easy to trim, manipulate etc.

These can be purchased from most nurseries, but if you need a lot of them, it's worth traveling to the actual growers, located just East of Bangkok. This is where most Garden Centers buy their stock and thus you will be able to save a lot of money, by going direct.

If you would like directions, just drop me a PM, okay ?

    Cheers,

  2. "The Democrat politician said he rejected the offer, as the requested sum was too high."

This clearly infers that, had the 'demand' been lower; the authorities would have paid for this information to these killers ? ? ? ?

He said they had told him that those who hired them promised a car and Bt1 million cash for each of them after they completed their operation. However, they each ended up being paid only Bt100,000 after finishing work.

Now: WHO does THAT sound like ? ? ? ? - They have (unwittingly) already answered the big question, haven't they ? !

    I am certain that full written confessions are forthcoming within a very short period of time . . . . . . . . . . .

  3. This action (if successful) will certainly alter the very character of this S-Pattaya area.

We lived in this area for 10 years and the way I look at it is this:

I know it's there and that it is very difficult to use that sidewalk for getting yourself from A to B.

So; unless I need anything from that vibrant market, I would avoid it and take an alternate route (like "across the road").

Why do some of these changes have to be made ? ? Isn't this one of the many reasons why we love Thailand; the total 'chaotic order' which

enchants so many of us ? ?

  4. ""We have to realise that this government has only one year in office, not four as other elected government, so the policy will be completed within a year," he said. "Democracy is the goal, ridding the country of corruption is another goal. We will do what we can to reach the objectives of having a new Constitution and a newly elected government."

If this really is the aim of the Junta then why are they spending so much time on minutia?............ basically at present it looks like all they are doing is re-arranging the deck-chairs on the Titanic. (or Pattaya to be more precise)

Wilcopops: Of course you are entitled to your opinion, but don't you think that Thailand should give the good General a proper chance ? ? ?

  5. Isn't it now time to deal with this issue once and for all?

As opposed to throwing large sums of money at the problem, which then simply disappears, or is frittered away on projects such as boats pushing the water out to sea (!!!), Thailand should seriously consider calling in experts from countries that have had to deal with major flooding problems, such as the Netherlands.

Surely anyone can see that if a full-scale flood prevention program is not put into place, these headlines will simply be repeated year after year...!!

You're so right, GeorgeO: this is a typical case of "A problem 1,000 Windmills could easily solve" and this would be a very 'green solution' as well.

Windmills have been around since the end of the 13th Century; maybe it's time to introduce them to Thailand (700 years later ?!?!).

  6. Henk; I read this race-report with increasing astonishment, admiration & "goose-bump-sensations". I was NOT surprised at the incredible skills displayed by your pit-crew members, because I have seen them in action in "normal" races - as well as my familiarity with "my" B-Quik boys (B-Quik Pattaya-Branch) who take care of my family's cars. - Your guys are not just there because it's their job; your guys are there because they recognize the unique individual that you are; showing respect & kindness to people in your organization, be they Management or the Janitor ! That's why they go that 'extra mile' [in your case "literally"].

Wishing you and your Team all the luck for the future and I'll end this with something someone ever wrote and which I think is appropriate when it comes to the B-Quik Racing Team:

"The journey of a thousand miles begins with a broken fan belt and a leaky tire"

  7. I used to see people immersing their bamboo furniture in the sea, when living in the South--apparently this killed the powder beetles--but, you're a bit far from the sea up here--sorry.

Hey Haybilly: You are so right: - Many years ago, I came upon a very old man, living on the beach, in a very old Bamboo hut. When I told him that I was surprised at the excellent condition of his Bamboo Hut, he smiled a toothless smile and told me that the secret was to immerse the Bamboo in the salty sea-water for about 4 weeks, before starting the construction of said hut. - He went on to explain that 4 weeks in salt water was a sufficient period of time for the the salt to penetrate through the segmented-chambers inside the bamboo. Apparently this is the only sure way to prevent any type of wood-consuming little bugs from gaining an interest in this thus treated bamboo, as a possible food-source, because they certainly hate "salt".

Goes to show you what valuable lessons can be learned from an old man sitting on a beach, huh ? ! ? !

  8. But why a fold-able electric bike ? - By the time I get to a new port, I am always welcome an opportunity to 'flex-my-muscles', after an extended period on my sailboat, where things are not set-up for jogging, let's face it ? ? ?

  9. This man is clearly a creep of the highest level, with a totally subservient wife, who doesn't say a word (probably because she's unable to grasp the English language) !

I would not even trust this man with my (female) cat, for 1 minute.

Where's King Solomon when you need some decent Justice ? ? ? ?

The authorities MUST remove that baby from this people immediately ! ! !

This man is clearly an unbalanced human - and he will ALWAYS be a pedophile !

    May God help that little baby-girl . . . . . . .
