  1. Is there anywhere to buy a crust so I can make my own meat pie?
  2. Tha ks. It's not really the water, I can use dechlorinated tap water to replenish the tank. It's the original source material which contains all the microbes living in the water column, plant roots, bottom substrate, etc. That's what I'm after. I ended up going to a local fishing pond about 20 minutes out of town, and got fantastic water and plants materials for the aquarium.
  3. Hi. I'm a microscope hobbyist living in the Thonglor area. I have a very small 25L glass tank that I want to use to create an environment for pond microbial life -- a couple freshwater plants, some bottom muck, and water. Can anyone point me to a spot nearby where I can collect some stuff? Pond/stream, not Khlong. I think it would be strange to walk out of Lumphini Park with a few full jugs. If anyone knows of a more roadside spot, or if anyone close by has a natural pond on their property, I'd appreciate the info.
  4. Can anyone give me some options for fun mini golf in hua hin? Years ago we played at Black Mountain, we'd like to try something else. Thanks.
  5. Just to bring this full circle -- I had a few of these delivered today. They do fit between the grates so they're perfect for the grill. Thanks again.
  6. You know what? I have one, I use it when torching creme brulee. Good idea.
  7. Thanks. Yes, I'll get a few of these for indoors. If you read my other reply you'll see my need for matches to light my gas grill.
  8. My biggest need is to light my very old char broil gas grill. the ignitor has long since stopped working. I guess I could try to source parts for it. I'm not sure if a long-stem gas lighter could get through the grates. Now I turn on the gas and drop a match between the grates, but when it takes 2 or 3 matches to get one lit I can very easily lose my eyebrows LOL. For indoor use (candles, etc.) of course I could use a gas lighter, I'll order one to at least make life happier indoors. Thanks.
  9. We've always used a brand of matches that really sucks. Half of them in any box don't have enough powder, and the strike plate is smooth. I'm adding a screen shot of what we use. Can anyone recommend a brand that I can order online that just works? Thanks.
  10. "Not currently out of control" is not the same as "under control."
  11. Thanks. I contacted Hafele Thailand asking what temperatures their power levels correspond to, buy by the time they replied we had ordered an Electrolux.
  12. Thanks. I agree about a double. The ones we saw wouldn't have fit two pans anyway.
  13. I'm looking for a double induction cooktop to use on a countertop (not built-in). Searching Lazada, I see a brand called Hafele, which I assume is a German brand but I've never heard of it. Can anyone recommend a double induction cooktop available in Thailand? Thanks.
  14. Cool, hope it works out for you. I'll probably give my doses to people who need it now, and work out a booster in 5 or 6 months.
  15. The chart you're referring to does not indicate when they will give you your vaccine, they are using that chart to show the public when they should seek a vaccine based on their vaccine history. The October 8 deadline is specifically so they can use that information to prioritize their 4th quarter doses, it was not intended to allow people to shift from the Q4 block of vaccines to a future block of vaccines. I work with the Marketing Team at Samiitivej and I'm fairly certain of this understanding, at least at this point in time. Now that there has been an announced delay, I'm trying to find out whether the October 8 date will be delayed, I'm awaiting a reply. Note that last week I contacted the Samitivej online communications team asking whether I could retain my paid vaccine for use next year as a booster (I recently had my 2nd dose of Pfizer). They initially said "you can keep it for booster in the future sir" however, after I asked how this would work, for example will I be put at the top of a list of the next batch of Moderna coming in Q2 2022, or will I be behind everyone who has paid for Q2 vaccines already and rightfully expect to receive them, they could not answer. They merely said put in your vaccine history now and after you receive your Q4 appointment you can inform us for further discussion. As you can imagine, that isn't a policy, it's an answer to a question they probably hadn't considered. It's possible that the hospital will work to delay the paid vaccines until they can be used by the purchaser, but as of now there is no official policy guaranteeing it. And according to their official policy, once we put our own information into their system, we cannot later transfer the doses to a third party -- the decision to transfer has to be made by October 8 and before we put our own details into the system. Anyway, I'm sure this is more detail than most people care about. Thought someone might be interested.
  16. Were you originally confirmed for the 4th quarter batch of Moderna at Samitivej? If yes, can you tell me how you confirmed that they would hold your Moderna booster for 6 months? This contradicts the SMS I received from Samitivej last week that lists an October 8 deadline for me to either complete my personal COVID-19 vaccine history (to assist in their management of the Q4 doses) or transfer my doses to others. Nowhere in the documentation, or in my communication with Samitivej through online channels asking about this, have they indicated that my Q4 dose can be "managed" to become a booster next year.
  17. Thought I would show you the result setting up with the 10L container you found. Thanks again.
  18. Well, if 2 expats find themselves opposing each other in court, one of them would probably have a good result :-)
  19. Thanks. I have tons of hydroton and nutrients, just missing the medium size containers. But I will check out that shop.
  20. Update to my comment below: Since initial communications that I received when I purchased my Moderna reservation, Samitivej has seemingly modified their policy about transfers, saying now that they will allow transfers with 7 days or more advance notice. That's good news. Perhaps they changed the policy after I messaged them about it ???? Interestingly, Samitivej Hospital has announced that they will not allow Moderna vaccines to be transferred. While they might change that position when the time comes, I imagine there will be many who show up and force the hospital to pour their vaccine down the drain rather than allow the hospital to sell it again once the original purchaser decides not to take it. I'd love to be a fly on the wall when the first person shows up making that demand and the staff refuses.
  21. Your comment here, and later comments in this thread, seem to ignore the fact that COVID-19 variants are more likely to come into existence in the unvaccinated due to virus replication happening much more quickly. While children may have little risk of serious short or long term health issues if they get the virus, their ability to spread it quickly to others through daily interaction greatly increases the risk of mutations and serious variants arising. As usual, there are much larger public health issues that those making specific, targeted arguments seem to miss or ignore.
