  1. My rear wheel has a little bit of a blip, not much. Its just vertical in one spot and not horizontality. I felt all the spokes and some rattled a little. I stopped by the local GreenWing but they wanted the bike for 3hrs, I was planning on a little exploring so I had the guy give the wheel a quick tightening up and will go back tomorrow. They have a truing stand and I'm an avid cyclist so I know how important a good truing is. I usually do my own on my road bike.

So what should I expect to pay for this fairly minor blip?

  2. Briefly... I bought a scooter second hand in Chiang Mai, with Chiang Mai plates, the owner gave me the green book and signed 2 thai documents and gave me copies of his passport and visa.

I take the bike to Chiang Rai and try to change the ownership to my name in green book ..they said I can only do it in Chiang Mai because that's where it was registered.

Is this true? Do I really have to return to Chiang Mai? I was told if I change the plate I can also change the ownership in the green book and not need to return to Chiang Mai

I do not want to change the original Chiang Mai plate..I like it.

  3. Thx...I think that there is a certain amount of generic info in all the manuals. Of course year and engine size/type will determine some specific info, along with tire sizes etc. I called Yamaha in Singapore and they say that the Mio is imported from Thailand and hence the manual is in Thai. The fellow there took my number and us going to call me back about hopefully a PDF that is somewhat generic.

  4. Can't believe your searching for medical advice here...your doctor or a local community health center should have tons of info for you. You will not die..you will not get cancer..you may or may not transmit it to others in the early stages. You may or may not develop antibodies. You will have antigen markers that you have had the disease. Your liver is now weakened. You should not drink alcohol..and you certainly should not drink hard alcohol for the rest of your life. Eat well.. rest and recuperate... You can get reinfected. After a few years where your body has stabilized and your antigen count is normalized you should consider vaccination. Carriers may or may not have symptoms. Not everyone who has HepB is a carrier. Only blood tests can determine if you have been exposed.

  5. When you say prospects..do you mean their likeliness of advancing in work or opportunities in life? Or do you mean their effective English skills? I personally feel every person is unique, some may run with it and move to a city or town and seek a better education or employment. Others might stay close to home and family. The fact these children are getting an education greatly appreciates their prospects in life.

  6. I just received the above noted visa.

I plan to volunteer while taking TESOL course and teach English. After a while I plan to get work as a teacher. Or maybe some other type of work. I'd also like to study Thai and possibly work at the same time.

A few questions..what can and can't I do with this type of visa?

Will I need to exit and re-enter the country every 90 days? Those are my initial questions...any website or link on this visa type and its responsibilities appreciated. I'm Canadian.

As well my visa is dated a week ago and is valid for a year from that date,

I will enter Thailand in 1 month.. When's my year over? From date of entry or expiration of visa?

  7. Just an update to the faint type issue in dark theme...actually its more to do with the disappearing/faint icons that are present in the forum topics view. By that I mean the generic chat bubble icon on each of the major forums before you select the forum....I get the feeling a screenshot is needed to show what I mean.
