  1. In view of all the misbehaving foreigners, I hope that Immigration will not think: "We must increase the documents that tourists and resident foreigners must show to get a visa (extension)." Perhaps they will require a certificate as proof showing that you have attended classes on moral education and ethical behaviour.
  2. I don't have such land. Having said that, I didn't know that the practice is illegal.
  3. I hope this doesn't mean MORE documents to renew the Marriage Visa. Will Immigration now require proof that you have no criminal record anywhere in the world? It takes an officer 50+ minutes at least to go through the 2 piles of documents as it is, including typing the same information provided each year and which they don't save. The whole process can be done online and followed up by a visit to Immigration to sign whatever. However, the coffee at Immigration in my province is nice, and the drive there and back is through lovely countryside, so it's not so bad.
  4. 105th Job Interviewer in New Zealand: Can you explain this 5-year gap in your resume? NZ Tourist: I spent 5 years in a Thai prison after breaking multiple laws and attacking a policeman to get his gun, which fired as we struggled, but the bullet didn't hit anyone. 105th Job Interviewer in New Zealand: Why should I hire you in view of this? NZ Tourist: Because I'm a good person. 105th Job Interviewer in New Zealand: Thank you for coming. We'll let you know our decision soon. Good luck finding a job!
  5. Giving them 5 years in a Thai jail would be suitable I think.
  6. If I were in your situation I would ask a car repair mechanic whom I know to inspect the car. Pay him for the service and his time.
  7. The son is the Big Idiot in this story. You don't take a pitbull home for your mother to look after unless you want her dead or mauled one day.
  8. This crazy Swiss man should be jailed for attempted murder for 10+ years perhaps. His attack was unprovoked and violent. As for the other Swiss man on the beach, I think it's too much to kick him out of Thailand. Jail him for a couple of months maybe instead.
  9. Why do some European men feel the need to hit a woman? If someone bumped into me, I'd apologize because it was probably my fault. If it wasn't, the apology will smooth things over. The man shouldn't despair though because he will lose his fat stomach while in jail.
  10. I disagree with the idea of kicking him out of the country. He made a silly mistake. If you watch the daily news at midday, the incident is minuscule compared to what Thais are doing to each other. I mean extremely miniscule in comparison. He regrets what he did. In a month everyone will have forgotten what happened anyway. Leave him be to look after the elephants.
  11. I think that is all you need. At Nakhon Pathom that's all I needed back in the days before I started to use the online system. But it would be safe to phone up the IO and ask if you speak Thai.
  12. I recommend you use the online Thai Immigration website for the 90 days matter. It's an excellent service and they remind you 2 to 3 weeks in advance when you need to do the renewal.
  13. I've renewed my annual marriage visa here 38 times. I assure you that the 400,000 baht must be in a Thai bank. Also you will need a bank statement on the same day as you go to Immigration.
  14. Expecting an improvement at Swampy Airport is like expecting the annual renewal of the marriage visa to be simplified. It's not going to happen because of the mentality and culture at the Head Office of Immigration. The oldies there still think like 20th century people.
