Anutin Pilots Plane to Deliver Heart Transplant Team
HuaHinHim replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
That’s a bit OTT mate. I have been a commercially rated helicopter pilot since the 90’s and know a few people lucky enough to have plenty of money so they can have the fancy sofisticated non turbine powered aircraft and turbine powered and I am very happy to fly with them. I accept there’s more training to fly them competently but to say I wouldn’t trust a private pilot would be on a case by case basis. I’ve know and know of several commercial pilots with high flight hours that have lost aircraft through senseless errors, some are lucky to be with us still and some are not. You must have had a bad experience. -

Thai senators come under pressure over PM vote

It’s a consequence of the constitution they voted for -
It’s empirical. People had it done to them and then it’s their turn to pay it forward. Not saying it’s right, just how it is how it has been and for some how it always will be. I used to think it would be the current generation that would sort it out but I think I’m being overly optimistic. It’s going to take a bit more than that

What’s a well heeled foreigner? I’ve lived here for almost 20 years, married to a Thai with a daughter. Purchased property that can only be in my wife’s name, a vehicle and payed school fees plus all the extras foreigners are charged. I get a non o visa every year at an exorbitant price. Have I qualified yet? In comparison my wife’s last visa for my home country was less than US$100 and was valid until the expiry date in her passport at the time (almost 5 years). I mean am I well heeled enough?

They could open the self serve immigration to foreigners. I was in Australia last month and noticed they allow about a dozen or more countries to use them and Thailand is one of them. Why can't they return that courtesy to other countries? When you go up to the immigration line in BKK the automatic gates for "Thai Passport Only" is often empty.

Being an expat with a family and a home here is the only reason I returned and I would take them out of here if I could but that's another story
