Stupid tradition, but that's no excuse...
Says you! People travel to experience! Songkran can be frustrating but it is part of Thailand culture. I find it harder and harder to to understand people?

This seems like a story from 2021 that has accidentally been published.

Why not close down all the bars permanently. In doing so would save one hell of a lot of electricity.
Just my thoughts.Better still why not simply close all industry. We can use candles we will have power to burn.

He was dammed if he did and dammed if he didn't hand it in. The lesson in this case is don't touch things that don't belong to you.
Yes, he would have been followed to find out where he was staying and the police would have arrested him for stealing. In that case I would say the real scam would evolve. That may be 100,000 baht to avoid prosecution. However in most countries, it is theft "Theft by finding", or similar laws.

Of Course we don't need a democracy when 1 person can make the decisions. Much easier and less time consuming. Get back to the important things. ????????️♀️????

Indeed, they are getting rid of a restriction that very few bars or businesses adhered to. Only supermarkets, Seven Eleven, apparently hooters, and chains like MK.

The cops are coming flush the stash. Got rid of a lot of good product due to that side effect over the years.

That didn't take long, so if passed, back to being 'in the closet' illegal again, instead of like prostitution, tolerated. As soon as they find a way to profit, like prostitution, then public sales will be 'tolerated' again.
Hmm...
Far from it as I understand the article. Posters on this forum have little time or respect for Anutin Charnvirakul, however this seems like clever and political savvy move to protect his legislation. Is acceptable to the law's detractors, is yet to be seen.

Yes its all meaningless, click bait but it works. I doubt Khun Meow will be pleased with having one of her bars as the lead photo for the story?

News flash - today they changed the guard at Buckingham Palace.
That said of course my girlfriend is different, ????????

I mentioned this earlier but, IMO all aid to Thailand should be cut and routed to Ukraine.
That includes all foreign investments in Thailand. Japan and the US are the two biggest FI in Thailand to my knowledge. All US investments should be put on a 5 year withdrawal.
Alas China would happily take up the mantle in exchange for a small port in the Gulf of Thailand.

Whist I agree with your comment, I believe it is time to move on with life as this virus needs to spread through the world as other viruses have done and still do.
Covid now, in my opinion is much milder than it was in the beginning and if you look at 2021 Influenza and Pneumonia case in Thailand those figures are over 100,000 deaths in that year.
The above said, I believe that I confused my previously stated 25,700 infections in my reply as it was deaths since Covid began 2.5 years ago.
We are all going to die, that is a given, it is up to us to protect ourselves as we have done since we started roaming this planet, lock downs we know only prolongs the inevitable, the virus mutates so best to get it, surviving it is the objective and to be immune from it for once and for all, if we don't survive it, well we wouldn't have known any better because our time could be up tomorrow, bus approaching head on !!!
Sure is we have the flu or a cold, we stay home so as not to infect others, but we really can't expect others to do as we do, it's just life, selfishness is everywhere and always will be, that said, I did stock up on toilet paper ????
Why stock up, you live in Asia people only use toilet paper as napkins in restaurants?

On Tuesday 12, the day before Songkran commenced, I drove from North Bangkok to Nongkhai, there was very little traffic, in fact probably less than what I would consider normal. I was very surprised, I left at 10am and arrived in NK around 8.30pm, with breaks on the way? I did not expect this I was expecting to layover in Khon Kaen but it was not necessary.

He's a Thai Billionaire, Deputy Prime Minister, Health Minister and has a lot of power in the country we choose to reside in.
He's a good guy in real life and only negative stories that are cherrypicked to generate hits are bandied about on social media platforms.
If you people met him in real life, you'd be falling over yourselves to praise him and adorn him with compliments to curry favor.
He's a good guy in reality and you shouldn't be so quick to pour scorn on everything he does, it's not easy to be in his position.
How about an intro then?

Lockdowns kill far more than covid. Sweden, which famously did not lockdown, had the lowest rate of excess deaths in Europe last year. Statistics Canada reported that after the initial wave in spring 2020, lockdowns caused more deaths than covid due to suicides, drug od, untreated cancers etc.
Antarctica had an outbreak despite quarantines, 100% vax and multiple PCR tests. Avoiding contact with others might help but all other measures are just theater.
That say all the world's a stage?
