  1. AN IDYLLIC island that is considered one of the most beautiful destinations in Thailand is being shut down because tourists have wrecked it. So don't try this one

    http://www.news.com.au/travel/world-travel/asia/why-you-cant-visit-thailands-most-beautiful-island-anymore/news-story/55f22abf8d7f33e1274e7358e836d974

    I wouldn't say tourists have wrecked it, it is more tourist management by national parks. Tourist numbers needed to be limited, but if you try to do that corruption creeps in.

    It is still a very beautiful mostly untouched island but unfortunately would not stay that way with the volume of tourists national parks was allowing.

    Was never what the op was looking for as it is/was only for day trip no over night allowed, and takes 1.5 hours by boat to get there.

  2. 70% can not adapt to our wesetern life and to live here,

    they will take the next chance to settle back to Thailand;

    20% not happy, but try somehow to stay - but every day discussions

    10% can and will stay ;

    Therefore i never tried to get my one here, except 1 week for a sight seeing,

    that a country side also can be clean and not dirty as Thailand;

    Your wife took the first chance to settle back;

    this 705 have also less problems to give their kids away for their own well being;

    You have spend your capital, only small rent which not sotisfy her family, for which Thais always have to take care -

    they dont have our social welfare - this your fault not to study thai society before you married her !!

    Now , as one already mentioned, immigration will not allow you to leave with your son, without permit

    from his mother ; Forget to fight on family court - needs time and money !!

    Bring your son back and take your staff,

    rent a small cheap apartment - wait 2 month,

    give her only your phone number - best a new simm card, wich you use only with her ;

    if she not back with some serious proposal - leave - you are free,

    Dont agree on some higher amount for your sons life , she will use the money most for her wellbeing,

    to spend with her old thai friend and husband,

    your son she will leave just to the grands;

    Sorry, thats what you can expect from not high educated village girls,

    Good luck,

    Frank

    Sorry Frank but you don't have a clue about Thais relocating to another country.

    I live in another country with my thai wife and she could not be happier. She has dozens of thai friends in the same situation and all are extremely happy.

    In fact some do not even bother to go back to thailand for holidays preferring to visit other countries instead, and bringing close family out for visits.

    Your 70% guess is probably closer to 7%.

  3. The questions have not been chosen yet so it may well be just 5.

    The article also states many of the over 20 questions received are the same question referring to exact losses.

    20 questions is 20 questions way too many. Only five pertinent questions need answering, in order to lay blame with accuracy. Otherwise it is an easy shift of blame and a get out clause offer - or waiver of charges against the constitution. Nobody, in any position, seems to understand the simplicities, and all seem to want to over-complicate matters, and that can only be for one of two reasons, namely: 1) fear, or 2) graft!

  4. Can't the NCPO release a press release stating that if any media outlet mentions any future statements from wanted convicted fugitives living abroad will be bought in for questioning and be taken off air or closed down.

    Out of mind out of sight.

    I would not usually agree with a military run system of government, but this one seems to be working so well, so far anyway.

    It's like a strict preschool teacher taking control of a bunch of spoilt brats that keep stealing all the other kids lollies.

  5. The guy across the road from me has a few cows and he never seemed to do anything with them so a couple years ago I asked him what he does with them, simple answer "sell kee" so now I buy cow manure from him for my fruit trees. Before I just shovelled it off the road onto the trees, never knew I was stealing his poo, whoops.

  6. From the Meiji Corporate website

    http://www.meiji.com/english/corporate/data/network/

    "Dairy Products

    Meiji established the joint venture CP-Meiji Co., Ltd., in 1989 to manufacture and sell milk and yogurt products in Thailand. The company has captured the leading market share in the Thai market for chilled milk with the growing recognition of meiji brand milk, while increasing sales of cream and other institutional dairy products.

    In March 2011, Meiji established Meiji Dairies (Suzhou) Co., Ltd., in China, which began manufacturing and selling milk and yogurt in December 2013. In 2013, we launched Meiji Bulgaria Yogurt series in Thailand and Shanghai, China. These products are gaining popularity as the first real yogurt to be available in those areas."

    So I have to ask,

    1. do you imagine they are shipping fresh milk from China to Thailand?

    2. Are you thinking aircraft carrying liquid milk?

    3. If by container on a ship, how would they preserve it?

    Just wondering, maybe you have an explanation how they transport their fresh milk from China to Thailand without it going off?

    They don't have to ship fresh milk, the cows are in Thailand. It has nothing to do with where the company is based.

  7. 18 months ago I was riding the back way to my home in Nakhon Phanom and only about 500 meters from my house out comes this cat in front of me, it was about the size of a medium dog with a great patern on it. I followed it for about 100 meters and then it darted back into the bush. As soon as I got home I googled it and it turned out to be a Clouded Leopard, almost hunted to extinction for its coat. Hopefully no one has eaten it yet as happens with most other wildlife around here.

  8. Along with all the vailed accusations, would someone please explain how the corruption was presumed to work? How was it manipulated? Where and how was the money being syphoned off? Thanks

    You won't get much joy there. Most opinion on corruption on this forum is of the "every one knows" persuasion. "Every one knows Yingluck stole money from the Rice Subsidy Scheme", "everyone knows the PTP have been emptying out the treasury", "every one knows..................." - you get the idea coffee1.gif

    There are allegations of G2G deals (they could sell cheaper to an other government but not to normal buyers) being fake.. meaning rice was bought by someone close to the Shins and then resold into the program.

    There are allegations of rice from Cambodia going into the Thai rice program

    And its quite possible YL would have gotten a cut from these fraudulent deals.

    Also possible is the rice that never was, phantom rice if you like. The rice is not missing it was simply never there, but paid for to someone? I guess you could call it weight watchers rice, eat as much as you like and never get fat.

  9. Thank you Sheryl, I guess I was just looking to reassure myself. I will definately go with Bkk International. This is the first time I have read through the Health section of this forum and after reading your input we are so lucky to have someone like you here, you put a lot of time and effort into your replies and it is appreciated so much.

    Regards

    Dave
