What a perverted monster, these so called rescue workers should be monitored much more, I have heard that some of them only volunteer for the rich picking off the victims, especially the dead ones who cant spill the beans !!!!

Unfortunately the Thais are not ready for democracy, perhaps try again in a few decades more, in the mean time they should adopt a system similar to Singapore, where the people are all treated like 4 to 8 year olds (which is about there intellectual level)

I don't think so. I could be wrong, but I think it's more serious if they are under 15.

Yes over 15 is legal as long as the boy is not picked up in a bar (then the age is set at over 18 for commercial prostitution)

A real democracy would have the entire population over the age of 18 voting on every single issue, this can be done over the internet.
There would be no need for political parties, only state administrators.
Thailand would be perfect for this new and real democracy.
BUT...

He probably only served 3 years because he was costing the prison authorities money, If he had a relative buying his food & keep in jail for him then he would have stayed a lot longer.
FYI - if you ever are placed in a Thai jail don't allow anyone to pay money to the food vendors around the jail because its a racket that will keep you in longer.
If the prison is forced (obliged) to give you food etc.. they will want to get you out asap.
(The food vendors are all prison workers relatives, making a good income from prisoners supporters).
