Thai have gone away...its EVA all the way. Long, long before covid I finished with Thai when they had an hour long check-in queue at Swampy....national airline in their home airport and immediate thought was...won't do that again...never looked back....even the Thais I know prefer EVA.

Well...the only sensible interpretation of this rediculous pronouncement is that the economy is tanking and things will be getting much worse soon.

In a way, it appears that the 75 that were rescued were extremely lucky that the oil tanker responded to their SOS quicker than the Thai navy. I think had the Thai Navy arrived first the casualty count would be much higher.....

Myself and a friend have decided to become non-digital nomadic snowballers. We aim to rent a villa every Winter in a different destination so we aren't tied to any one country and we aren't committed to a property. Looking forward to it. We are starting next winter gently with 6 months in Gibralter. I'd write a blog about our adventures (there will be many) but I will have better things to do and that sounds a bit digital anyway. Countries can do what the hell stupid things they want to do we just won't bother going there. ????

I feel sure that if Thai Airways tried really hard to improve they may just scrape into the top 10 in Thailand. Its good for them to have ambition and to set themselves targets that they may be able to achieve. ????

Anyone who goes to Pattaya inevitably wants to walk down WS, simply for the experience, including "nice family" people. Left in the hands of faceless officials it will become as interesting as watching paint dry. When you allow design by committee thats what you get. As others have intelligently said "if it aint broke then dont fix it". Tourist destinations left to evolve naturally are far better than those that are "designed" by so called social experts. If WS is to do and be replaced by something else then let that be as natural evolution and stop interfering as you really don't know what you are doing.
