    Hi,

Any recommended places to repair ipad out of warranty in  Chiang mai . I am aware of the ICARE in Central Airport/Maya plus the Studio 7 in Central Festival and Maya. I called Apple directly. Apple Support advised to go an authorized dealer. Apparently, authorized dealer can repair free if it is not a hardware problem and also they can give you a estimate price to fix it. There is no cost to estimate to repair. Any thoughts much appreciated/.

Try this place.  Excellent service and English spoken.

    Very reasonable prices.

I've got a Last Will and Testament that was drawn up by a lawyer but it's out of date.  The cost for amending it is stupid and not worth the money.

My Will is very simple.  It's not much more than a listing of my Thai bank assets and a few personal items which go to my wife if she survives me or my step-son if he survives my wife and I both.  Easy.  To help keep this on-topic, this is only about a Will applicable to Thailand.

I know Wills can be drawn up at the local Amphur offices.  I'm curious if anyone has done this.  If so, what is involved?  I'm thinking it may also be easier to take to probate court if the Will is registered with the Amphur?  Just wondering.  Now in my 70s and as most 70 year olds should know - death happens.  It's the way of it.
Any direct experience with setting up a Will at an Amphur office would be appreciated.

  3. Renewed my passport in Jan, transferred the stamps and asked the TM 30 clerk, if I need to renew my TM 30 because of my new passport.

The answer was no, not unless you have left the country, since last TM30 report, which for me was 2019.

Did my 90 day drive through on Monday and no questions on TM 30.

I'm British and 69, until June, and I'm married.

My Non Imm O visa based on marriage runs out on 6th June. I'll be going to the UK on the 8th  April and returning on, probably 27th May. My wife is worried, as although Mahasarakham immigration has a shiny new office, visa applications are sent to Khon Kaen and she's concerned that may take it past the end of my visa even if we visit immigration before the 6th June. Does anyone know if the date you apply is the one that has to be before the expiry of the visa?

You can apply up to 45 days before.  If you are really worried, why not call in to your immigration office and get the answer directly from them.

Guessing here but it could be to see what the market will bear, those amounts haven't been increased in over 20 years.

As you say.....it is just a guess.

Who really knows the reason for them asking.

If people answer by inflating their income to immigration, it will be counterproductive, if indeed your guess is correct.

It will give them a reason to consider increasing fees or financial qualifications for extensions.

Hi, I have an appt to renew my passport at the embassy in 2 weeks.
All I'm expecting to take is a completed application form, my expiring passport and 2 colour passport pics
I'm also getting colour photocopies of every page in my passport. Will they accept it if each A4 page contains 2 original pages (left and right), so I only have to print out 16 pages instead of 32?

Can I just pay with a Thai debit card on the spot - I read you also need to fill out a "payment form" but can't find it

sorry for such basic questions, I couldn't find the answers
    cheers

Don't forget to take proof of address in English with your name on.  You can use driving licence or a utility bill.  I used my dtac bill, which I downloaded from my account.

Copy whichever one you need.  I did both just in case.

As someone said, Thai debit cards sometimes get refused because payment is taken at the passport renewal office, outside of Thailand.

To be doubly safe, if you use a Thai debit card,  visit your bank and ensure that international payments is enabled on your account.

It actually happened to my neighbour.

I seem to remember that they haven't set up a system for Thailand as yet.  However you may be able to apply from a home country address (Brother, sister etc) Then get them to post it across.

I applied for my Wise account/card when back in NZ.  Only took about 10 days to arrive.

It's the only card I use now.

How can you possibly use a card issued for use and registered in NZ and then use it  in Thailand, where it isn't authorised?

I noticed this also 6 months ago, had to find a workaround to avoid the fee, now there's a drop down menu so easy, sneaky behaviour from Wise, really it should default to previous method used

Wow!  6 months ago.  I used it last month and it defaulted to the usual bank transfer.  Hence my post after yesterday's transfer, when I noticed the fee increase.

You can't 'accidently' stumble into making a 'fast and easy transfer' because you have to provide the card details. That should be a red flag for just about everyone.

I always move the funds to be transferred into my Multi Currency account first. That way there's no chance of a misstep.

Good point.  My post was merely to point out the subtle change.
