Chiang Mai Immigration Q & A - Info and reports. (2020)
Raindancer replied to JimmyJ's topic in Chiang Mai
Renewed my passport in Jan, transferred the stamps and asked the TM 30 clerk, if I need to renew my TM 30 because of my new passport. The answer was no, not unless you have left the country, since last TM30 report, which for me was 2019. Did my 90 day drive through on Monday and no questions on TM 30. -
Question about visa extension

You can apply up to 45 days before. If you are really worried, why not call in to your immigration office and get the answer directly from them. -

Chiang Mai Immigration Requiring Your Monthly Income?
Raindancer replied to jeffandgop's topic in Chiang Mai
As you say.....it is just a guess. Who really knows the reason for them asking. If people answer by inflating their income to immigration, it will be counterproductive, if indeed your guess is correct. It will give them a reason to consider increasing fees or financial qualifications for extensions. -

UK passport renewal - supporting documents
Raindancer replied to pomozki's topic in Q&A, Ask the Consular Team
Don't forget to take proof of address in English with your name on. You can use driving licence or a utility bill. I used my dtac bill, which I downloaded from my account. Copy whichever one you need. I did both just in case. As someone said, Thai debit cards sometimes get refused because payment is taken at the passport renewal office, outside of Thailand. To be doubly safe, if you use a Thai debit card, visit your bank and ensure that international payments is enabled on your account. It actually happened to my neighbour. -
Wise Transfers- Caution - Fees

Wow! 6 months ago. I used it last month and it defaulted to the usual bank transfer. Hence my post after yesterday's transfer, when I noticed the fee increase. -

If it hadn't changed, I would not have posted the information. -
Some of you may be aware of the information in my post and some of you may already know. This is for the the unaware. I made a transfer yesterday of GBP to Thai baht. On the opening page, I noticed that the fees were almost 60% higher than normal. My previous transfers always defaulted on the opening page, to transfer from bank. Yesterday I looked to the right and it stated " Fast and easy transfer", with a drop down box. This allowed me to change to bank transfer and the fees changed to a lower figure. I hope this helps some of you. Regards.
