I am pretty sure that ALL the cod served in most restaurants or chippies has been frozen but is very rarely 'mushy'.

My mistake, I should have said 'deep frozen'. The fish for the local market is mostly just kept on ice. As mentioned in another post, some for the retail market is vacuum packed

I am guessing that is via the method I mentioned but happy to be proved wrong.

Since you say you have a user code and I presume you use the account no of your account in Thailand I would suggest you don't actually have a separate account there?

Did you set it up in the UK or from Thailand?

I was merely clarifying the current situation for the OP's benefit. In response to your comments:

"The UK branch is for commercial accounts only - they do not handle retail banking.

Saying that you used to be able ........."

I set up the arrangement directly with the London branch. Obviously had to give them my Thailand account number for the transfer. How it is set up in the London branch I wouldn't know; or recall as it was some years ago. They act as a portal. I find it a convenient system and, from posts on previous topics, I believe I am not alone in that.

Saying that you used to be able to set up direct transfer from the UK to your BBK account in Thailand via this branch but it needed to be set up from Thailand. Was mainly used for regular pension type payments from memory. Not sure if this is still done?

I have had a personal [retail] account with the London branch of Bangkok Bank for many years. They provide you with a user-code and you transfer from your bank to them in GBP. The funds are available in the Thai branch next working day. If you have an FCD account it is transferred in GBP and you get to control the exchange rate when you transfer to THB.

700 students their first shot and 800 were already vaccinated since 27th August????? Amazing Thailand. probably he kids of rich and wealthy

I hear what you say but would suggest that the entire family, and staff, of the rich and wealthy who want to be vaccinated already have been; privately.

I would guess that Type 1 diabetes and obesity probably counts for a lot of those in the current group.

Only study of "under the skin" I found was from this Leiden University wich says that under the skin you can get 5 time more vaccine so' under skin 50 instead of 10 intramuscular ( in Thailand I think they give 12 af AZ , at least that is what nurse told me when got vaccinated ...)

The only vaccine Leiden University [specifically "Anna Roukens, an internist and infectious disease specialist at LUMC"] appear to be using in this, so far very limited, study is Moderna [mRNA type] Whereas the university was significantly involved in the development of the J&J Janssen [virus vector type]. Therefore it's a    s   t   r   e   t   c   h  [to put it mildly] for Thailand to use this very limited study, on one type of vaccine, as a justification to use the subcutaneous procedure for all types of vaccine. As they appear to be suggesting. No wonder the responsibility is being offloaded:

Yeah, after a Thai lady is thrown to the curb by her Thai husband, she will look around for another Thai man, and if rejected a bunch of times for anything except being a gik, yeah, she will conclude that Thai men suck, and go for a Farang. The problem comes if she runs into another Thai man who finds her acceptable, then she runs the risk of having the Farang find out, dropping her, and then have the Thai man lose interest in the now penniless lady.

apparently, her previous Thai boyfriends failed in these simple matters. The boot was on the other foot, they treated her as an ATM while they went drinking, skiving, playing cards, chasing other girls etc.

The stories I have heard over the years are predominately in line with the second quote. Maybe that's due to the class of women I associate with.

Ah, yeah but no but. Indeed, the 'mushy' effect depends on how long its been frozen and at what temperature. Most cod fish caught at sea are gutted and frozen on the trawler; for North Sea fish that's not deep frozen. When they arrive at the dock those will usually go straight into auction. 'Proper' fish n chip shops in the UK get/go get their fish on a Monday, which is why many are closed on a Monday, and put them in the fridge to thaw. If they know what their market is they will use all those fish within a week. It's only the deep frozen fish that spend a while in storage, or transport, that go mushy.

86 and been here since retirement, 23 years ago. The immigration requrements bother me more each year - particularly the 90 day reportinb. I calculate in the 23 years I have submitted 90 such reports with never a change of address. Isn't it about time this was taken into account?

We are never too old to learn. If it helps you to not be so bothered by the 90-day report. Reporting every 90-days has nothing to do with the address where you reside, that's the role of the TM30. More a case of ensuring you remember your place in Thai society. Best wishes.
