  1. I've used the following Notary many times. He's not cheap nor overly expensive. Located on the corner of Sukhumvit Soi 25 (Glass Haus): www.SuwatLaw.com
  2. I had treatement for varicose veins many years ago at Bangkok Nursing Home hospital Epidural and stripping the veins in one leg (the worst one). It was successful and only mild pain afterwards. The operation was carried out by a surgeon from Chula hospital moonlighting at BNH. Can't remember his name but he was very professional.
  3. Yeah - just like he sorted out Chalerm Yubamrung's cop killing son. ????
  4. https://www.train36.com/bangkok-public-bus.html It may be a bit outdated but scroll down & you'll get to the bus pass section.
  5. Very sad news indeed. There are tears in my eyes. He helped me numerous times to navigate the visa rigmarole with direct answers to questions and often from posts already made to help others. Thaivisa & Asean Now are very lucky to have had Ubon Joe as a contributor..
  6. I give AN full credit for this dystopian post as it appears to have fooled an awful lot of posters. Today's date is, of course,..........
  7. Photocopies of passbook used and no deposit made. In previous years, I've obtained the bank letter on the previous day and then made an ATM withdrawal on the application day. I don't know if this still works.
  8. No, next time I'll get the letter the day before from my local branch.
  9. I successfully received my visa extension at Chaeng Wattana yesterday, based on B800k method. But a warning about obtaining the account balance letter from Bangkok Bank. I arrived at Immigratin at aound 13:15 for a 14:00 appointment, allowing 45 minutes to get the letter. It actually took over an hour because only 1 window was processing them and the teller was doing other work as well. Luckily immigration allowed me to use the appointment desk and I had no further problems
  10. I wonder if the 'Would You?' was slipped in by Rooster especially for the 'I would' brigade?
  11. It appears to be forgotten (or deliberately ignored) that Pol Maj Gen Paween Pongsirin was in charge of the 'investigation' of the Koh Tao murders of the two British tourists and 'fearlessly' recommended the indictment of the two Burmese scapegoats. This was after the real investigator (whose name I forget) was moved off the case after recommending that the local mafia head's son be indicted.
  12. Sorry, I don't understand what you mean by 'do it from the bank'. Also, by using a credit card, how does your mum sell crypto for fiat currency?
  13. Thanks for your reply. But I don't have a phone app for my bank account, nor do I intend to set one up. Can it be done without the phone app?
  14. As a person who has been familiarising myself with the crypto space for a while, but has not taken the plunge, here's why: I do not wish to buy crypto with a credit/debit card as AFAIK, there is no way to sell back to a fiat currency. Which exchanges, Thai or overseas, allow a Thai bank account (BBL) to be linked to the exchange for buying AND selling?
  15. Me too and exactly the same type of transaction but different details: RAPPI CITI BANAMEX.... It looks like a Mexican Peso amount of 2,700 was the debit. I don't use the debit card linked to my account very often but I suspect that this is due to a leak of data from a Thai company that may or may not have been admitted. My claim is currently being investigated by Bangkok Bank and am cheered that you received a reversal.
  16. Apologies - finger trouble with the first attempt at replying. As the fraud is not just in one bank, it's unlikely to be a bank internal problem. I currently have a fraudulent transaction under investigation at Bangkok Bank. There are a number of ways it could have happened: 1. Internal bank fraud (unlikely IMO) 2. When setting up a direct debit, I gave my account number to my ISP who arranged it with the bank. (more likely) 3. I sometimes use my bank debit card to pay for items online. (also more likely) 4. The transaction was not made from an ATM so not an ATM hack. 5. With the number of (admitted & not admitted) hacks and companies/governments leaking data online, it is unsurprising that fraud occurs & it's not just in Thailand.
