tkramer replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
"It's striking how the idea that there are too many people in the world has established itself in the collective mind." Sounds like a disease to me...!!! Let me guess...as a student...not very good at Math... -

"This is happening in many, many countries of the world, except in Africa, where the ancient ways continue. 21 of the 22 nations with the highest birth rates are there. Woe is Africa." No, Woe is us...! "where the ancient ways continue" Where more 'primitive and less resourceful' ways continue... (but I am on your side) -

Elon Musk is a 'greedy' MONEY GUY. This video is all about sustaining to the global 'Ponzi Scheme'. It has nothing to do with 'Planetary Survival'. However, I agree with George Carlin...'Humanity's Ship has sailed...we (you and me) missed the boat'. Rant and Rave all you want. And please do enjoy your memories. -

Why do we need to replace the people that died...? We are killing ourselves via 'over-population'. Any scientist with a brain will tell you that there are not enough resources on the planet to sustain the current populations. In fact, the science says that Earth was 'self-sustainable' at a population of 1 billion. You can call me names, and deny...deny...deny...! But the Human Race has basically...'missed the boat'. 'Humanity's Ship has sailed.' https://charlierose.com/videos/19176 -

"Currently, the fertility rate for Thai women stands at an average of 1.16, indicating that a woman has approximately 1.16 children throughout her lifetime. An exception to this trend is observed in Yala province, which reports a fertility rate of 2.27." No, I am not a 'racist', just a scientifically factual guy...as they do tend to double the indigenous Thai's'. Wikipedia: Yala is one of the four provinces of Thailand with a Muslim majority. About 72 percent of the people are Malay-speaking Muslims -
Unfortunately, unexpected things can happen to us as we age...inspite of our enthusiasm for life. In 1992 I lived and worked in Tokyo for a year. And one crowded evening on the train back home after work, I happen to sit next to this older, but English-savvy Japanese gentleman (it was a long train ride). But among many other things, he happen to inquire if I was married? I said "no,...but divorced." Then he stated that if I marry again (I'm age 42 at the time) "be sure to pick a much younger wife". "Why" I asked?" "Because when you get 'too old', she can take care of you". I was too 'arrogant and cocky' then. Today at 75, he was a wise man. As I think back on the cultural differences, in my later years...a younger Japanese wife would be much more suitable over a Thai wife. Why...? Japanese have much more integrity. However, the Past is Past...and for me, it wasn't meant to be.

Where can I buy an African Grey or Indian Ringneck in Chiang mai?
tkramer replied to Keirachiangmai's topic in Chiang Mai
"Having said that, what a lot of bird keepers neglect is that the species they keep usually fly I don't know how many kilometers a day in the wild. If you want to keep your bird in a cage then this is literally like prison for them" So true. However, the ones you go to purchase are already in a cage and maybe even born in captivity (I don't know). I've seen them at Chatuchak Market in small cages with 10-20 others in the same cage. Thanks -

"A man in Hua Hin has been arrested and confessed to the murder of his 6-year-old son in an act of revenge against his estranged wife." Thai logic at its finest... -

Dude, I can tell that you are from a country where 'light-hearted-sarcasm and humor' is not appreciated. I did say that I was 'joking'. But hey, I'll be sure to take your advice and go out first thing in the morning searching for my new pair of 'coke-bottle' glasses'. Peace and Love 'Fitne' is known to be very effective. -

There is a guy at my 'health club' (555, great name) who is 79, has a huge belly, and looks like a 'dried-out-toad'. And he is always telling me how the 'girls' can't believe his age...as they say he looks...'so much younger'. We all just 'eat it up'...don't we...?! My ex-wife back in the states (a 'Dixie Peach' from Alabama) never told me that...! -

You can ask the fattest, most bizarre-bodied person you know... 'if they think they are healthy'... And the answer will always be..."YES"...! -
