It's a wee bit wordy, but I did try to read it and was doing quite well - until the first mention of the W.H.O.
I do agree that there's a certain amount of fatigue about the whole subject, but I'd say that it's got more to do with the incessant misinformation than anything else.

I signed up for expatvac on the 1st day - sign up was easy enough, but only loaded up the photo of the visa. Still haven't heard anything else from them about it - yet..!! But then I was told that it's only for folks in Bangkok & surrounding provinces - for the rest of us living up in the sticks, we need to register with local hospital...? So far, that hasn't worked out for me either... Incidentally, tried to register on thaiintervac too - but as I'm under 60 and none of the health conditions, it wouldn't accept my application. I guess I could have lied, but I'm not comfortable with that...

Molly, "Time to Grow" was censored by the thought police. I have it on good authority that he was able to locate human grade Ivermectin online from an Indian retailer. It is his understanding that Ivermectin is manufactured periodically in Thailand but current stocks of the drug have been depleted. He remains alert for news that the Thai manufacturer has resumed production.
Any update on this - I've been having a look around and not finding anything that wasn't designed for animals... ????

I found this on the inter-web-of-deceit the other day... its a table comparing the efficacy of the various vaccines based on available data and "modelled estimates"
It's produced by the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) and they do explain it all here: COVID-19 vaccine efficacy summary | Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (healthdata.org)
Its pretty obvious that the Sinovac (Coronavac) vaccine isn't as effective as most of the others, but it's not far behind in respect of the variants. Also shows that Moderna is the daddy...
From my side, I reckon that the Sinovac vaccine is better than nothing and it can indeed be "topped up" by one of the more efficacious vaccines once available.

Is that a Harley flat head in a wide line feather bed frame .
Its definitely an old flathead motor, but cant tell from this angle if its a wideline or a slimline frame, although it does look as though the top rails are kinked inwards slightly, which would make it a slimline. Either way, its a nice bike...

That's pretty much why you dont want to be using slicks on the road... if you're ever at Buri Ram (or any other) circuit, go and speak to one of the tyre guys there. They'll explain about heat cycles and cold shear... no point in slicks on the road either to be honest - irrespective of how quick you think you are, you're not good enough to get them up to temperature on the road and keep them there. They're also too stiff for your street suspension - be like riding a bone shaker on some of these roads...!!
You'll be much better off with a decent sport/touring tyre - they come up to temp much faster and will stay there - work well in wet or dry and will give you lots more grip and feedback than cold slicks... Full on sport street tyres are fine too, but you wont notice any benefit over sport/touring tyres unless you're doing lots of track days...and of course you'll chew them up in a few hundred miles if you're fairly quick on the road...????

I'm considering going down this route myself - not so much to try to save or make money, more so that I have one less monthly outgoing when I finally get to retire...

It would be relatively straightforward to wire in a small buzzer - something like one of those reversing alarm buzzers or similar; you'll get one for a few quid from most car accessory emporiums - and then wire it from the oil light circuit. That way when you don't have oil pressure with your ignition on, the buzzer will sound...

Preying on the naivety of Thai women! Two sacks of shit, whether Nigerian, Russian, Western or whatever. I do not think the Thai women deserve this. Not at all.I'm sorry but if you are dumb enough to send money like this, you deserve to lose it.
I hope these guys do some hard time before being deported.
Criminals should be put to work on a tread mill, to generate electricity, to pay for the cost of their incarceration.
Really..? I find it all very ironic and therefore, rather humorous.

This is to the owner of the name BIGDOD, whatever that means. Just read your comment concerning my post from January regarding a newspaper article.
First; I agree - I'd to read it a few times to try and make head or tail of it. Second, I also agree that there may be a few flaws with the story itself. Third - wait til you've been here a while newbie and it'll all become clear. Welcome to Thailand. For your information, I first started to live and teach in Thailand, in 1994 and have continued to do so except when ii n China, to teach psychology for which I hold a doctorate in Clinical Psychology (what do you hold), and when I have been in Canada having operations to replace hips (2) and right knee. Not new to Thailand, just don`t post much because of people writing unqualified comments such as yours.

yamaha 50th anniversary not SRs anniversary
black is the limited edition white is the normal version.
Omega whats the diffrence between 38 and 41 mm? why size diffrence?
I hear the power diffrence will be minim if only change carb, I would need to 'tam kruang' do the engine some how.
My garagist told me around 10k and he ll turn it up from 400 to 540cc something lol
Ohh, now I understand!
38 and 41mm are the diameter of the carb. Bigger diameter, more air/fuel for the engine.
If you change the carb it is advisable to change the exhaust too, so that the engine can breath better.
I would not do anything to the engine itself. The stock engine is bomb proof as it is. I know of several who changed to expensive Yoshimura pistons and cams, just to end up with a seized engine. In fact, just had one on the last ride this weekend.
You've been warned!
The above is all true, however, if you whack a larger diameter carb on, what actually happens is that for a given volume of air passing through the venturi (ie cylinder capacity x rpm) the airspeed effectively drops, and when this happens, you lose the carbs ability to pull more fuel out of the floatbowl and mix it all up before firing it into the cylinders to be burnt - the effect of that to you is sluggish acceleration (compared to the smaller diameter carb) Where you will see the difference is at the top end - as long as the carb is jetted properly, you will see/feel more grunt at the top end...so a bigger carb is not always better - depends what you want from your bike...

If you didn't penetrate her and the baby cannot possibly be yours then why even ask? This is a bar girl you are talking about? Since you think there are others it's safe to say she is a bit of a slag?
Of all the replies, yours is by far the least helpful - no surprises but was it even vaguely possible that you might have addressed the question re abortion ? Would you completely turn your back on a woman back in your own country if she told you she had nowhere else to turn to ? All I'm looking for here is some way to dig her out of the hole some lowlife has dug for her - you know and I know how few Farang in Thailand are serious about wearing a condom - branding her a slag helps no one,
Well....looks to me like you've made your mind up already, so <deleted> was the point of asking on here and opening this can of worms, if not to wind everyone up? If you're fool enough to get sucked in by that "no one else to turn to" line, go ahead - knock yourself out mate. Remember - she was as much to blame, if not more so than your "lowlife" for her condition - there are other means of contraception widely available that don't rely on the male covering up. I guess you think you're doing the decent thing mate, and fair play to you for that, but don't mix Thailand up with where ever you come from, chances are all she'll see is a mug with a cash, and that's what she's after...not your empathy.

get the bike into 'wont start' mode...then pull the plugs and see if its getting any spark. Ground it to the head.
i had a tzm 150 with the exact same problem, culprit was a faulty cdi.
Thanks for that, hadn't heard of CDI being faulty, only working or bust. I always felt that when it won't start it is only one cylinder missing, now I know I have 2 CDIs a fault on one could explain that.
you may have two problems that create a larger one, check to see the plugs are the correctly specified heat range.
after multiple removals the plugs crush washer will become over flattened and throw it into a different operating temperature range. This happened to me on a cbr 150 with iridium plugs, and caused backfire.
Problem with the iridium plugs is that iridium is a crap conductor of electricity and the electrodes are just too small. I heard reports of guys all over back home cooking those plugs. I've never had any issues with NGK plugs and I've had them in all sorts - even used them in a turbo engine and only had to drop to a colder plug when I was racing, rest of the time was standard heat rating & standard gaps...
Engine popping on the over run is coz you've lost the backpressure in the exhaust, learn to live with it coz it wont go away til you put baffles back in.
The misfire sounds very indicative of a low float height in the carbs. This will lean off the mixture and will be most noticeable at around 4000rpm. Will also cause your bike to run hot, but shouldn't be such a big issue if its liquid cooled. Also with it flowing too much air, I don't know, but if you cant get a hold of the proper air filter, this coupled with the open pipes is really going to mess up your fuelling and a re-jet will
likelydefinitely be on the cards. If you do that, I'd also recommend picking up a set of O rings for the carbs because it sounds as though you've had them off and on a few times now - if a couple of those have flattened off and are bleeding air in, you'll chase the problem all day and never see it. One more thing to look at in detail is the bleed holes from the pilot circuit into the venturi - basically those little holes just near the slide - that's where the air fuel mix gets in when your throttle's closed. The fuel over here with the alcohol in it holds moisture in, unlike 'proper' fuel which separates out from water, and its pretty well known that the tanker drivers all tap a little bit off for themselves and top it up with water, so when your bikes lying in the shed for months on end with this stuff in the carbs, the fuel evaporates of and leaves the watery shellacy gunky crap in yer carbs to work its wonders on the aluminium. That stuff doesn't shift easily. its worth using fuel stabilisers or even better still draining the carbs and blowing them through if you can before you store it. You'll have to mess around with carb cleaners and solvents and high flow compressed air to shift that stuff if you suspect it.Hot starting - if your fuel line from the tank is a pretty much straight run with no up & downy "u - bend" sections in it, and of course your carb breathers are clear, then its unlikely to be vapour locked. Honda were renowned for producing decent bikes with $hitty electrics around that period of time and yes, some of the faults do turn up when the bikes hot coz hot stuff flows electricity differently from cold stuff, pity the only way to rule a part out completely is by changing it.
Good luck....don't let it beat you

How do I envisage the future of Thailand....same same but different I guess...

Thai Watsadu aren't the cheapest place to buy air compressors. If your not in a desperate hurry check around. Sometimes you can find catalogue specials with good discounts.
I thought mine @ Bt.3800 to be a reasonable price.
I thought mine @ Bt.3800 to be a reasonable price.
I got the same one at HomePro for 3500 baht last year- it was a steal and a great thing to have in the house- I might upgrade to a larger-capacity compressor in the future as it's better for running air tools, but that little one is very handy for the reasons you already mentioned (and I'm anal about tire pressure and check and adjust it before every ride;)).
I'm not really in a tearing hurry - well not quite yet, I've got my sister coming over for a holiday when I get home from work so I guess the small lady will keep the shed locked til she's away, but I'm dying to get on and start hacking things up once I get time, so I'd like to get something organised. I prefer air tools to electric tools - a bit more of an outlay initially, but they last forever - so I'm after something with a decent output and good size receiver to run these. If I have to pay a little more to get something a bit more robust, I'm cool with that too - you get what you pay for with tools and buying crap is a false economy in my book. So cheers for your suggestions gents...I'll have a trawl around these and see what they have on offer

I'm out in the sticks (Isaan) and there's not a lot of choice up here.
Not sure if you're near Udon or not, but Tool Pro stock a number of compressors.
I'm over near Chaiyaphum, but I've a mate over by Nong Bua Lam Phu so I guess be a good excuse to nip over for a jolly...
