Southern Ireland is also a good choice. Although it’s in the EU it’s not in Schengen. Provided you enter from the UK you won’t need any visa for your GF. Friendly people, same language, lots of interesting places and not to expensive to fly there or possibly go by ferry.

Thanks. I’ve already got a good streaming service for my TV via a STB but I’m looking to view on my iPhone and iPad and Mscbook which is posing the problem
-
Can anyone please recommend a web based streaming service for UK TV and Sports Channels Worldwide
Must haves:
Accessible via Macbook, IPad and iPhone
Able to connect to a Set Top box
24 - 48 hour Catch Up with fast scrolling
Personal recommendations from established users preferred please.
Many thanks in advance

Away from Thailand and looking at the bigger picture then this offers all those millions of expats with ‘frozen’ pensions a chance to build a much bigger collective voice.

With that being remitted every month you’ll be into 30% tax from next year

I also use dedicated bank account with min 800k all year round.
At CW the io wanted Bank Statements as there were some months with no transactions.
That was a first, never required previously.
BTW ..you did not provide TM30 or rental agreement?
No TM30 or rental agreement was requested or provided. I have lived at the same address for 8 years now and the address on the forms was the same as registered at my 90 day report. I assume that someway down the line I must have completed at TM30, if that is normally required.

Am I correct that you did not need a 12 month statement from your bank, and the bank book by itself was accepted? Were there any consolidated entries in your bank book since your last extension?
I MAINTAIN A SEPARATE ACCOUNT FOR MY VISA EXTENSION AND GET IT UPDATED EVERY 3 MONTHS WHEN THE INTEREST IS ADDED SO THERE ARE VERY FEW ENTRIES OVER A YEAR - NO CONSOLIDATION

Thanks for report.
I assume you were given a ticket because you went to document check chicks first.
No need to attend main desk on entry.
You should also have a print out of your confirmation email.
THE TICKET WAS ISSUED WHEN I BOOKED THE APPOINTMENT ONLINE AND WAS IN EFFECT WAS THE CONFIRMATION EMAIL. THERE WAS NO DOCUMENT CHECK WHICH DID SURPRISE ME.
TM47 has been added to required docs.
I ALWAYS TAKE TM47 - JUST IN CASE
Note that you did not provide Bank Statements and io accepted copies of bankbook pages. Not always the case.

You did not receive priority for 70+.
IN THE RE-ENTRY AREA PRIORITY IS GIVEN TO PREGNANT WOMEN, PEOPLE WITH CHILDREN AND SENIORS
With appointment you are seen on time and sometimes early.

Booked an appointment online to extend my retirement visa for 2.00 pm today. The online system issues a "ticket" confirming the appointment (I did this a few weeks ago).
The visa area (L1) at CW was absolutely packed out when I got there (1.45pm) with very few free seats.
My ticket number - which was in a different sequence to other ticket numbers being called forward - was called at spot on 2.00 pm and I was seen by a friendly officer.
I presented:
A completed form with photo
My passport,
Copies of the main passport page, my original visa, my last extension, and the stamp of my latest entry into Thailand;
My bank book (I used the money in the bank method) and copies of every page in the bank book.
My bank letter
A copy of my most recent 90 day report
A hand drawn map of my home location
I had to sign every page I presented
The officer got my to sign 3 other documents, took my photo, and collected 1900 baht fee.
She asked me to take everything then to a senior colleague in the next door office.
After 5 minutes my passport and bank book was returned to me all stamped up (time now 2.20pm)
I collected a re-rentry permit ticket from the main ticket area and went down stairs to get a copy of my visa extension.
Upon returning to the C2 area my ticket number was called almost immediately
I presented,
A completed form with photo
My passport,
Copies of the main passport page, my original visa, my last extension, and the stamp of my latest entry into Thailand and a copy of the new extension
Paid the 3800 baht and waited outside for my passport to be stamped up and returned.
This return process was going really slowly overall, and many people were getting quite frustrated, but my passport was returned very quickly - well in advance of other numbers being called - so I assumed this was because I'm over 70 and this group get priority service - either way everything done and dusted by 2.55 pm which I think is an excellent service.
I really recommend booking an appointment, if you can, as I hate to thinks how long some people will have had to wait today as the office was so busy.

I recently used Isaan Lawyers. A fairly simple will for 6000 baht and excellent service

OP, are you using this link
https://bangkok.immigration.go.th/en/onlineservice-and-publicguide/
I just tried to use it and it's rejecting my info (email, password)
Most likely I have to re register.
So over this rubbish.

Do you have a Thai sim card, or are you trying to receive text messages using an overseas sim? The latter is sometimes problematic. It goes without saying that you should very carefully check that your phone number was entered correctly.
Thanks for getting back to me. I'm in Thailand and using a Thai Sim card OK. There is no option to show phone number only email address. I'm already registered with Immigration with that email address as I've used it for 90 day reporting and getting appointments in the past. I also reinstalled the App but again the same problem - enter email address ok, submit and wait for OTP. OTP never arrives

I'm trying to make an appointment online to extend my retirement visa at CW office.
Accessing the system is OK but I can't progress beyond inserting my email address as I don't then receive a OTP.
Does anyone know if this is a short-term glitch, a regular occurence or a semi permanent problem?
Thanks in advance

I’ve got both and they work perfectly well. Downloaded from Apple though not Google Play. Don’t need to be in UK or use VPN

I just don’t answer calls from numbers not on my contact list. Once they disconnect, I call back and if they don’t answer I assume it’s a scam and block the number

I'm not clear how long points remain valid. Do they lapse after 1 month, 6 months, a year, 2 years or never. Anybody know or indeed care?

Have you never waited in a supermarket queue whilst a woman searches for her purse in her handbag to pay but only when all the items have been through the checkout. And then to find she has separate purses for notes and coins and wants to tender the exact amount but can’t read the till and then has to search for her glasses in her handbag? Give me cashless every time

I specifically asked the OP to list exactly what he provided.
I was interested what the io required for proof of funds using money in bank method.
I personally had issues with this in November and io wanted bank statements.
The other take away from that visit is that I was very surprised by the change in io,s appearance etc.
I also along with OP used appointment L32 desk.
The io that I dealt with had zero English (normally not an issue) and seemed to be very inexperienced. Hence when small confusion arose with bank book pages she had no idea how to understand.
The IO's at L27 and at L32 both had passable English (certainly better than my Thai); seemed experienced in their roles and were decidedly friendly and helpful.

This not correct. It’s progressive tax and there are allowances to take into account too
