I don't get how or why people bitch about 90 day reporting. It's pretty painless.
It's really annoying, it doesn't really serve much of a purpose, and you get punished if you forget.

For me, there are two main drawbacks:
- The jet lag each time I come back "home" (Thailand).
- The serious lack of quality/interesting westerners.
For the first drawback, the jet lag, I don't have a solution. I suffer each time.
But for the second, the solution is to learn the Thai language fluently, make friends in the Thai society, especially in the upper classes, and avoid to mix with the foreigners. It works. There are lots of highly interesting persons in the Thai society. And, generally speaking, they are not only better educated than most farangs in Thailand, but also much more fun to spend time with.
(Having said that, I did meet a very limited number of interesting farangs in Thailand, over the past 15 years, so there are a few).

There are plenty of wealthy, educated Thais who speak little to no English.
There are plenty of wealthy, educated Italians who only speak Italian.

What i find most annoying is the , almost weekly, posts about, what do you like about thailand, or, what dont you like about thailand, or, whats it cost to live in thailand, or, how much i spend a week in thailand, or, my girlfriend left me, what can i do, or, what temp should i set my Ac to. Cheeers.
You are obviously coming to the wrong forum if these things annoy you. You should participate in sites or forums that specialize in nuclear physics, rocket science, or philosophy.

I think what he's trying to say is that he comes to this forum because people 'express their thoughts in the English language' and by reading and understanding those thoughts he can learn and understand English better. I think it's probably a good way to learn.

I think they just fabricate something new every year because every time I brought exactly what I had last year they required ONE MORE document. The last time I went in the immigration officer angrily tore up my two photos and said you need to provide new photos every year; you can't use last years photos. I explained that I just took the photos yesterday. He started to mellow down a bit so I said I could come back tomorrow with 2 more copies because those were the only 2 I had with me. He noticed that while searching through my wallet that I had a few more older photos and he said "those will do". I said "but they're 2 years old". He said that's OK. Go figure!

The "Friend" Is more than just a friend.
I found that out the hard way. In one case the Tom slit her wrists in front of me and had to be rushed to the hospital. In the other case the Tom barged into my apartment and demanded I pay 200 thousand baht to buy her out. Things can get very nasty when Tom's are involved. I personally would avoid the situation all together but that's because of the two bad experiences I had.

You should ask her up front if the Tom is in fact her girlfriend. It's best to get that out of the way before you invest any more time or money in the relationship. It is possible that the Tom is only a friend, and that would be good, but if they are in a relationship things could get violent if you make any intimate advances. Just my 2 cents.

I would recommend against pursuing this any further. I had 2 similar experiences where the girl I was interested hung out with a TOM and it turned out they were in a relationship together already. Both situations didn't end well. It was a waste of time and money. Tom's can get very violent if you move in on their girl.

I don't own a TV, so don't watch any news shows, including O'Reilly. But I find it laughable when people degrade him and Fox in general for their claims of being fair and balanced. Such people don't get the inherent satire in the claim: 99% of mainstream media is liberally biased, thus the "fair and balanced" slogan is meant in contrast to those other journalistic organisations: that Fox's existence on behalf of conservatives makes things more fair and balanced. Not that Fox is claiming to be non-partisan.

Some of the stuff coming out of MSNBC, CNN, NYT and others are just as farcical, but Fox takes it to a whole new level of stupidity and hypocrisy.

Promote the FOX programming like a Rush Limbaugh type show and I won't have any issues with Roger and the FOX hit pieces.

Actually, you are the one who seems to have Fox News on the brain. While in the US, I didn't watch it. While in Thailand, I can't watch it. I don't quote it, cite it, or refer to it. You, on the other hand, seem locked onto the Fox screen so tightly, I don't know where you get the time to take care of bodily functions. Psychology has a name for this: reaction formation. Yes, underneath it all, YOU are a Fox viewer.
These type of left-wingers have most likely never watched a single minute of Fox News or any other opinion program on that network. They have been instructed by their superiors to trash Fox News because it might contradict the left-wing-progressive agenda. They do as they are told because they believe the world will be a better place when we are all communist or Islamic. They hate the western world because they have been instructed to do so. They even hate themselves for being westerners. Asia on the other hand is not buying into this whole global warming hoax and will continue to grow and prosper while we freeze relying on wind mills and solar panels after these idiots have successfully destroyed our energy infrastructure believing that they are saving the planet. That's the important distinction. O'Reilly is a clown (something he knows full well and profits from) and his "reporting," like much of the content on Fox Noise, has more to do with entertaining their main demographic, cave dwellers & supporters of flat-earth-theories, than anything to do with actual news.
The O'Reilly Factor is not a news show, it's an opinion show. People from both the left and right express their opinion about pertinent news subjects.
Are you implying that when a left winger expresses his opinion on the O'Reilly Factor they are lying as well?

It's really good to watch the Daily show to see just how full of BS O'Reilly really is. Hard to believe he is the most popular figure in cable broadcasting (i purposely did not use the term "News"). If I was so stupid to get a Mia-Noi in the same town my girlfriend would know even before, I even had a chance to get her to bed. If I buy something new, I will immediately be asked where I purchased it and how much it cost. Nothing goes hidden or unquestioned here and it for sure does not on a small island.
Thai-people are the most curious people in the world, because most of them really have nothing else to do and spend their time on. Do you really think, that they do not know who did it? Of course they know. They are just way to scared to tell anyone, because they know the police have been paid off and telling will only mean problems for themselves and their family.

I only hope they don't exist. I think they are disgusting and any girl that performs them are a disgrace to their gender. I remember Long Gun used to have them and I would leave the bar as soon as they started. The girls would shoot darts out of a straw stuck in their pu$$y at balloons located around the audience. Can you imagine if they were off target and hit you in the eye? You'd have to spend the rest of your life explaining that you're blind in one eye because you got hit by a pu$$y dart.
On one occasion in Phuket at a bar having a beer with friends suddenly the lights go down and "It's Showtime!" We weren't aware that they even had shows. This girl got up danced for a while then brought out a bird cage and proceed to stick FOUR birds up her...well you get my drift. Then after dancing for a while started taking them out one at a time. She had to slap a couple of them to regain consciousness, having apparently passed out due to the trauma. I almost got sick witnessing this heinous display and could not understand how anyone would find this entertaining. It was almost enough to turn me off sex altogether.
I love the sight of a beautiful female body as much as the next guy but these sex show are repulsive and make them seem ugly.
