  1. So . . .

When the police arrived at the scene, they discovered the body of Mr. Rankan Singha, 43, soaked in his own blood. The body was estimated to have been dead for at least 24 hours.

    But . . .

The victim’s girlfriend, Miss Nantakarn Sudsri, 25 (resides in Dansai, Loei) stated that she stepped outside for a moment after a heated argument with Mr. Singha, who was drunk at the time.

When she came back to the apartment, which they have moved in a few months ago, she found her boyfriend dead, Miss Sudsri reported.

That was a either a very long moment to step outside, or for some reason, the police werent called for 24 hours after she found her bf dead.

Love this line which sums up the investigative process:

The police added that the footprints found were possibly the victim’s when he stepped towards the computer, trying to sending out an email seeking help.
  2. Does anybody know, is this new alcohol ban really working in Koh Chang? Can I buy beer in the bar on on the beach? What about 7/11? Do they sell booze? We're planning to go there on songkran, but if this ban is really working, we might consider another destination.

Of course you can buy beer. There is a ban in National Parks but the beach areas arent in the national Park so there is no ban. You dont pay a National Park entry fee when you sstep onto Koh Chang. Have some common sense please.

  3. If Thailand is going to start implementing laws originally proposed in other nearby nations then surely the 2009 amendment to Burmas Marriage Act that made divorce possible basically on the grounds that one partner had irreversibly let themselves go to seed since entering wedlock would be the best to follow. The Burmese have the right idea, age isnt important, but this amendment makes it possible for wither husband or wife to ditch their couch potato of a partner.

  4. You should have gone on Friday night when some of the best Thai rock bands were on. Excellent atmosphere.

Flure, who I hadnt heard before, did a great version of The Beatles Across the Universe dedicated tor the folks in Japan. Singer has a great rock voice.

Anyone who likes franz Ferdinand would love Slot Machine . Richman Toy have an awesome guitarist, Tattoo Color are a bit commercial but can also rock when they have too. ( Both are on the Smallroom record label, which is the Bakery Music of this decade - bands have artistic control and record label doesnt fleece them - pretty much the opposite of GMM etc )

Modern Dog headlined and openend with one of their first hits from 17 years ago. Near the end of one song the singer gave the mike to a farang guy in the audience to finish a song - singing in Thai. He got one of the biggest cheers of the night.
