    Yes it is.

You can do the TM30 form yourself since your the tenant due to your name being on the lease if needed.

Thanks Mr. Joe. Do you think I should do this at the same time as doing the 60 day extension or make a separate trip beforehand? Is the extension date 60 days from the date if application or from the current stamp date, ie. April 14 in my case?

there is no new rule. You can still extend normally a further 60days while going with your wife to Immigration , must be the province in which she has residency.

My wifes tb and family home are in udon Thani, we live at a rented apartment in Bangkok. Can we do the extension at CW?

  3. Will go with wife to apply for 60 day extension on current me nin imm o visa. Prior to my current non o multi marriage visa (expires in July 2020),  1.5 years ago i had a retirement visa obtained through an agent who registered me at an upcountry address. I never changed the address at immigration to show my true address in Bangkok. Should i do this via a tm30 before going to apply for the 60 day extension, do it together with the 60 day extension or do nothing and try to do the 60 day extension? I guess my address on their system may be different from the address i actually stay at in bkk. Also, if i do the tm30, will i need a power if attorney? Who completes this form and what is required? Thanks and apologies if Ive repeated myself.

    That should be no problem.

@elviajero is usually correct and provides sound advice.

However, there are several reports of applicants with a VisaExempt, Tourist Visa or Non Imm O Visa applying for an extension of stay at CW that were not required to provide evidence of a TM30 being filed of the place where they are staying.  Obviously, if they stayed in a Hotel, that Hotel would have filed their TM30 (even without the applicant being aware that it was done), but some reports mention that the Immigration officer did not consult the IO TM30 database with all on-line filings and simply processed the application.

So it seems that CW is one of those IOs that were previously quite stringent on TM30 compliance for applicants, but now do not seem to enforce it anymore.

    = = = = =

@johnny1966 > Will you be staying at a hotel before applying for your extension at CW?  In that case, the Hotel will file your TM30 on check-in (you can ask them for a print).

If you are staying at a friends place or your own or rental condo, you can register on the IO TM30 website and file your TM30s yourself.  Just PM me if you want to do this and I will send over a comprehensive step-by-step instruction on how to do it (registering will take somewhere between 5 minutes and 5 working days).

As mentioned higher several reports indicate that CW does not seem to enforce TM30 compliance anymore, but since registering and filing your TM30s on-line is relatively easy (if you know how to do it), it's better to be safe than sorry should it turn out that they still do require it.

Thank you for your insight Peter. I'll pm you.

Yes, I am thinking our only option now is to wait until immigration gives us a signal on how to proceed. From the news, they are aware of the situation and have plans to discuss/devise a solution. This is uncharted territory for the world. There is no game plan and everywhere it is step by step into the unknown. We must all cultivate patience and understanding, compassion and good will.

Well said. Let's hope the solution is friendly.

so your best bet would be to obtain a 60 day extension in early may which will take you to early july,

if possible do a fresh border bounce before the visa expires in early june for a fresh 90 day and then another 60 day extension which would take you to early november ( may not be possible due to other countries arrival restrictions.

the other option you have if possible is to put 400,000 baht in an account in your name and get a yearly extension, alternatively 40,000 baht per month transferred from abroad, for the yearly extension

    good luck

Just on the 60 day extension for non o Multi, I have one blank page left in pp. Is it enough space for them to put the extension stamp etc?

Someone should submit a TM.30 address report every time you re-enter the country. The immigration office will almost certainly (but local rules might apply) want one before issuing the extension. You could wait and submit it with the extension, but risk being fined for a late report.

Submitting the TM.30 now would be the best option and date the arrival at the address no more than a couple of days before the report date.

So i will be asked to submit the tm30 before any extension is granted is this correct? Ill be going to CW.

If you’re the spouse of parent of a Thai you can get a 60 day extension without financials.

Thanks for the info. A question; I had a retirement extension 1.5 years ago obtained through a visa agent. The address registered was an upcountry address, not my Bangkok address which I have been at since changing to the non imm o multi. I haven't notified imm of my change of address. Do I need to do this and if so can i do it when applying for the 60 day extension?
