Seriously, why does a person's age matter here. Yes, if the driver was considered too old or a danger to other drivers, you might point this out as a possible reason for the accident. Why does the journalist have to state the ages, it has nothing to do with the accident. It just serves to let biggots start commenting about age gaps... If Hugh Hefner has been in an accident with his 30 year old wife, people who have commnented he went happy. Just sad this type of journalism. If you want to write something about age gaps do it, but don't tie this with a story about road accidents.

To be honest why would anyone watch a programme that is hosted by a homophobic government that believes sexual orientation is a choice. Also the number of deaths of the workers has never been accounted for. I can guarantee that foreign worker deaths by far outweigh Qatari deaths in the building.
Sorry, but I hope they don't find the billion baht and decide to spend the money on Thai facilities or a programme to benefit the whole Thai population.

Usually they request stamp from Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Chaengwattana
Yes you are correct MFA, I couldn't think of the name. Give to them, pay 200 baht they send it back to you the next day by ems.

Ok quick reply.
1. You do not need to go to KL.
2. You need at least 15 days on a tourist visa or visa exempt to process the Non-B in Bangkok.
3. If not go to the border, in and out and get a 30 day visa exempt.
4. Your school take this to the immigration to change from tourist or visa exempt to Non-B
5. With the Non-B your school takes you to get a work permit. For this you will need verified and notarized copy of your degree. You can make a copy of your degree and have this notarized and verified to save the original but you must send both for notarization. These are both done in your own country, if it is England. some countries will do it at the embassy in Bangkok.
If from England you need.
a. Notarized by a solicitor or JP
b. Verified at Milton Keynes by the Universities Board
c. Verified at the Thai Embassy in London
d. Verified and stamped by the Labour Office in Thailand
6. Once you have these you will then get a medical certificate (no more than 2 weeks old) If possible a DBS certificate from your home country to show you have no criminal record.
7 After getting the WP which takes between 3-7 days, you will go back to immigration to extend the non-b for a year or to the end of your contract if shorter.
8. Following this you will do a 90 day report online, or at immigration every 90 days to stay in Thailand.
If you school is genuine they know this. Fees to pay which the school should pay are
Tourist to Non B - 1900b, WP 3100 bt Non B extension 1900 The school usually pay the WP and extension.
Feel free to drop me a comment if you need more advice

OK call me stupid... Thanks.... But ten years ago we used to have to pay 750bt airport tax to leave Thailand, little machines at the airport. Then they decided to add it to the booking, called Airport Tax. Now they want to introduce another tax called the tourism tax.. What's the betting this will eventually be added to the ticket and another tax be brought in. Do they think we would just forget we all already pay a tax?

Guys the best advice is just do it by mail, send it in three weeks before and no hassle. Cost 10bt stamp.. To get it back, plus ems postage to them.
They really don't want the online system to work as there would be less people going there so they need less staff and less budget.
Each time I went they say it was down last week but OK now. All the time. Just stick it in the post.
No point in saying it is down it happens 350 days a year.

do you mean Paradee Resort? nice but a bit expensive....is there something nice for about 1.5 to 2k/night?
So if this is the case why don't other countries start dual pricing Thai citizens? It would be good to see how they enjoy living up to the standards they uphold. I think from now on I should charge Thai people more as its good for my country.. Hmm may not have a lot of work coming in soon..

And VAT if applicable. Seems without further information that the pc belongs to the employer and being provided to an employee for employer work.
You don't pay cost of import, you lose nothing. The company loses the pc. Do you then lose your employment?
Under the above scenario, the employer should bear the entire cost to send it to you (vis a vis FedEx), unless you don't have such clarification or you contraturally agree to bear the import cost yourself as per your term of employment.
I don't know the whole story, but is this a new company you are starting to work for. Some scam companies do this. Offer work and say they have sent a laptop. A friend in customs watches for it and then you get a call demanding more. If the company want you to have the laptop then they should pay all the fees. These days you can buy a laptop in Thailand and they can remotely install the packages, as I am sure you know. Either way the customs will always demand money as you could easily sell it. My advice would be talk to your company, if they want you to have it, get them to reimburse the customs. If not tell Fed Ex you refuse it. They and your company are responsible for returning it.

The main question people should be asking here is how many of MP's houses have been flooded? If we made every MP live in the areas that were flooding whilst they were in office, the problem would be solved in a few days. The old adage NIMBY (Not in my backyard) applies here. As long as it does not affect those making the decisions there is no need to stress urgency.

We have been all over Thailand. Each island is different. Samed as a bolthole from busy Bangkok, is heaven.

Hey guys, sorry but I have to disagree. Koh Samed is heaven. We go three times a year and have been going for nearly 20 years. If you ignore Saigow then the other beaches are quiet and if you are willing to pay for some luxury then you can find well maintained places. Of course the wooden shacks for 300baht a night are gone. The bone shaking ride to your hotel has gone, but most has not changed in twenty years. The seas are clear, you can see fish swimming around you and there are nice loungers to read a book and good tree cover. The hawkers are not aggressive and you can still get a massage looking out to sea for 300baht and hour. Sorry but it is far from ruined, we feel it is our second home and if you spend time looking around you will find somewhere to suit you. If you like a dance there is dance. If you like peace there is peace. Maybe we are spoilt but many people would give their right arm to spend a few days relaxing on the beach. Oh and for the mozzkes, just use some spray...

If you book online then when you arrive you collect a ticket number and queue in a short line of chairs. If you do not book you sit in another line (1 metre away) and wait for your number. Immigration in MTT close 12-1.
Normally you can be in and out within 45 minutes. Mine, as I booked online took 10 minutes in total. The guy apologised for the online system not working but promised me it was now fixed and working from that day. You can guess what happened the next time I tried to register online.... This time I sent in the post, it was due by 16th August, but nothing returned yet. I sent by EMS so I know they received it.,, let's wait and see.

Hi I was at MTT last Monday and they said it's been up and down for a month but they said it was fixed that day and from now on no more problems. Kind of like the air con guys who swear they will be there tomorrow.. Tomorrow... And then tomorrow. You can try all the usual things like using Bing and then use another pc etc, but the truth is the system has never been right and we all blessed when it works. Even the people there can't tell you why it will work then not work... So I took a bts and mrt there last week. Bts to Watsi after Infantry 11 bts. Exit 1 walk to the road and then tell them muang ton tani visa or criminal investigation centre. I put it on Google Maps and told the taxi driver to turn right when he was going straight on. If you need more directions let me know.

Just a quick post, but suddenly my twice daily Newsletter from Thaivisa suddenly stopped. Not in spam, not unsubcribed, just stopped... How do I get back on the list?

I tried at the bank, but the said Wish had already blocked 6, 000 from my limit. Obviously they know people will call the bank. So all the bank can do is investigate. They don't charge you, but if they find in favour of the company then you pay the interest and their fee. If this is the case, I would say they are colluding with Wish and will change the bank and credit card.
Let's see what happens. I will update

I know the saying anything that looks to good to be true, probably isn't! But this scam takes things even further. I had heard of the app called Wish, selling cheap goods from China, so I thought I would try a few things to see just how bad they could be. I regularly use Chilindro and I am used to a mixed bag of purchases.
Anyway I logged into Wish and was greeted by a 50% off your first order, all over the app. Great! So I went ahead and made an order for about 6,000 baht, expecting to get 3,000 bt off.
I duly put in my credit card details and had the code to claim my discount, when suddenly.. PAYMENT COMPLETE appeared, no confirmation, no page for a code, just a thank you.. Straight away I contacted the Contact Support section, to find out it is on AI and no real human and no phone number... I emailed then straight away to cancel the order or apply the discount. They informed me there was only a certain window to cancel and to go on the app. The app ten says they received my details and would contact me within 1-3 days (past the window to cancel)
Over the next 24 hours they contacted me to say I had already entered a code (LIE), next I had taken too long (LIE) next they could no longer cancel the order (LIE) as the order / delivery confirmation came 24 hours after they contacted me. Each message I sent came back with another lie. I said I would not accept the goods, they said it was then a problem with the supplier and myself. Finally I contacted the bank, who told me they can investigate and it will take 30-45 days. I am now waiting for them to come back to me. There was no OTP and the bank said not all sites use OTP. After reading reviews (Yes I know I should have done before I ordered!) It seems this is common and they change prices and then don't send good for 2 months but when they are faulty say they can not help as outside the 30 days.
This company is valued at 8.7 billion dollars. You have to wonder how many first and only time buyers this is. Now they stop responding to my messages after they sent the same reply 4 times and then marked it as resolved.
I know 3,000 bt won't break the bank, but I hate the fact that they cheated and when found out they simply say we can't help. My advice stick to Lazada and Shopee, give Wish a miss!

OK we might be older but we adore Koh Samed like a second home. It is not just a small island with a few restaurants. You can easily spend 10 days relaxing, taking a bike or canoe to around the island. There are other islands to investigate and so many beaches. If you want to stay on the main tourist beaches you might run out of things to do, but plenty of massages, fine restaurants around the island, great viewing points and the locals are friendly. We stay at Samed Villa, be careful not to mix it up with Samed Ville.. Great bungalows and other rooms to fit the budget. Nice full breakfast, bikes and canoes and fantastic evening meals and no noise. The beauty of Samed is the clear blue water and fantastic food. Take the ferry from the mainland or for 250bt take the speedboat. Sorry we went to Koh Chang
, it was nice but for a relaxing sunbathing week I would go to Samed. Take a few books and mellow out.

No you just get your degree done not the PGCEi. Notorised in the UK you can pay about 50 pounds but send the original degree plus a copy plus the transcripts.
Yes you can do in Laos but this could be closed at any moment and you might be asked to do it again. You can my advice is either do it now, or it takes two weeks to do, so or go to Laos and when you have your nonb get it done in England while you have masses of time.
For teaching remember you will need a work permit and you can get two waivers if your degree or PGCEi is more than five years old. Then you have two years to get enough pd days to count for a new five year teaching licence.

Hi Everyone,
I want to ask if anyone has experience of this situation.
I arrived in Bkk in January and had my visa exempt transferred to a non b. Then I got a work permit and then the full non b until March next year.
My work permit is only valid until October as I had to renew my teaching licence. They said that
once I have the renewal they would extend the wp until March as well.
However things have not worked out so well and the school and I have decided to stop the contract in October.
My question is this. I would like to ask the school to leave my non b open until I find another job. I beleive as this is a one year non b it would be possible. The contract began in January 2019, they gave me the full non b in February valid until March 2020 but if my work permit expires in October would this mean my non b will expire as well?
I don't care about the work permit as I won't be working but would be happy to just have the non b to travel for a few months.
Any advice is gratefully received.

HI NetGuy
Sorry but you did 2 out of three in the process. You will need to send it to the Thai Embassy in London and provide a 10 pounds postal order made payable to Thailand Embassy - London. They also say you can send cash....
Then you include a SAE and it takes about a week. After you get it back here you have to go to the Labour Office in Chang Wattana and then they stamp it as well.
Without 3 of 3 they won't accept it, as the Labour Office want to see the Thai Embassy Stamp.
Hope this helps.

Update. Here and through everything.
1. Checked back into KLM baggage drop.
2. Saw big yellow circle with number zone 2 on the departures with sign saying re-entry.
3. Went through security and down the escalator to passport control saw big yellow re-entry sign pointing to the right of passport control.
4. Went to the counter gave my boarding pass, documents and photo. Told to walk to the end and give everything to the officer at the end, hiding in a cupboard on the left.
5. As I had prepared everything I gave her the form and 1000 baht.
6. Told to sit down for 10 minutes and it was only ten minutes...
7. Collected stamp and rejoined the queue for passport control.
Really really easy. There is no way I am doing this at Chang Wattana again. Very efficient and everything perfect
Thanks for the advice guys.

Hi,
As I am flying out of Suvarnabhumi airport next week, I am a little confused about where the re-entry visa counter is. Over various posts it seems to have moved a lot.
Some say it is in immigration zone 2, some say on the left, others on the right.
Could someone, who has obtained a re-entry permit recently please advise. As I have never done this at the airport before. I assume I check-in first, then go to the passport control (left or right?) before I hand over my passport I assume there is a counter that says re-entry?
How long has the wait been recently?
If you give all the documents (photocopies, completed application, photo) do they still charge the 200b admin fee?
Thanks, the less stress when flying to better, but I really do not want to do this at Chang Wattana and waste a day.
Many thanks for any help

Yes, this is exactly how they are doing it at Phetchabun Immigration, fining all if not reporting within 24 hours of arriving at your home address. Just flown in myself, drove up Christmas day to IO and did report. Copies of all stamped pages of passport, ID page, copies of wife's ID and tabienbaan, signed by her. Plus filled in TM30. I asked the IMM Officer if could do by post , instead of 240km round road trip for a job that takes a few minutes to do, 'No', must do in person.
As I had just returned from foreign trip, a white piece of paper also stapled into passport, with 90 day report date stamped and reminder of financial penalties for not doing so.
I was going to pursue a line of, 'you think we cannot work out 90 days from entry date ourselves'
but wished them all a merry 'kissmus' instead.
Then she is not correct. We just sent our to immigration and received it back in the post. Send to them with a 10 baht stamped addressed envelope and by EMS and it will come back. We used this link;
https://www.immigration.go.th/content/การแจ้งที่พักคนต่างด้าว
The address is only on the Thai version.

Hi Everyone,
Just a personal experience. Last week a Filipino colleague was refused a visa on arrival extension as she had not been registered by her landlady for her Tm30.
Today I went for a 30 tourist visa extension and the immigration lady asked about my Tm30. I said my partner had registered it in the post last week. She accepted it and I got my 30 days.
However, while I was waiting I saw 3 other people refused and handed back their passport and they were all talking about TM30. It looks like this is the reason to refuse now.
You can print the TM30 form off from online and sent it via the post to them at immigration. Just send it EMS and included a 10 baht stamped addressed envelope.
