Living here over 13y and coming since 2000. 2 weeks ago when I returned from Bali visit early evening, I arrived at immigration and the queu was the longest I ever experienced. All green lights where on, in meaning less than 10min but it took me over 1.50min to pass true. And yeah I counted at least 15 boots empty.

Thai airways not need pcr test in leaving Thailand or coming back.

But also a important one is that next months are high season ( dry) months for Thailand. And low season months ( rain) for Indonesia.

Like I said already before. The over 20000 " tourists" arriving in Thailand are 99% none tourists. Over 50% Thai who return and most of the rest people who have family here, condo here. Long stay retired. Close to ZERO TOURISTS. And that won't change in the next few months. With all restrictions still in place. Mass paperwork to do before coming.

 My guess would be that this will be the case for the duration of November then, depending on the data remaining positive, the next phase will be reopening bars etc in time for the main tourism to arrive for Xmas/new year period.

 

Its a sensible, measured approach.  

99% of tourism who plan holiday for Christmas and new year have long time booked their hotels and flights. Nearly nobody gone wait till short time before departure if bars back open and alcohol served. 

Real tourists this year high season will be close to zero.
