  1. I am looking for a good acupunctuate clinic for stop smoking here in Pattaya?

    Hello,

I treated similar case for an Irish teacher in Suzhou Singapore International school with good effect. If you are interested, you can PM me.

I've been working for years as TCM therapist before I moved to Thailand.

PS: if you search in google with "susan shen 13906217737" you can still see one of my ad of 2008 :)

  2. Apologies for asking a slightly off topic question, anyone know of a Chinese or similar clinic where they do cupping in Pattaya ?

    Hello,

Happened to read this thread again. I am an acupuncturist in China. Yes, I also do cupping, scraping, moxa etc.

I've brought all those stuff to Thailand. If you feel interested, you can PM me.

    Cheers

    Susan

  3. Thanks for all above info...Really appreciated.

Just got call from mother. Father is now in ICU, after 1 month in normal ward... I might have to fly back anytime. Now just wait for further notice. So, no time to apply for new passport and visa transfer etc at the moment. Can't take the time risk.

I am just back to Thailand last week from visiting my father. Seems have to fly again soon, and this time, need to bring my 6 month baby with me. She never meet my parents till now.

.... Don't know why I type these. So sad. Life is .....fragile. Pray.

  4. Hey, anyone has experience?

My current passport has very few pages left. If I get a new passport, must I go to immigration office and transfer the visa (for long stay in Thailand till Dec 2013 ) to my new passport ? Or I can use new passport and visa on old passport at the same time?

I ask this because my father is quite sick back home. If some day I must fly back at once, and my new passport is still in the immigration office in the process of visa transfer (I don't know how long is the process either), that would be horrible !!! ....

    Thanks

  5. Hi ! Anyone can share some similar experience ?

My baby was born in Thailand 5 months ago. Soon she will get a foreign passport and fly to abroad.

My question: if she gets the passport today, and tomorrow she flies to abroad, does she still need to apply a thai visa for her staying since her birth till now in Thailand ?

If the new born's passport has no thai visa, will the airport immigration consider her stay in the past 5 months illegal ? And what is the punishment ? Penalty or not allow to exit border ?

    Thanks a lot in advance

    Susan

  6. a quick ask:

I got my motorbike tax/insurance done by the shop where we bought the motorbike.Totally paid 1400 Baht.

I see the insurance for 1 year is about 400 baht.

And read from web that tax is 100 baht per year. Agent fee is normally 200 baht.

Why 1400 baht so high? (tax was due 2 months only, was the penalty that high?!?!?)

My hub said, last time, he also paid about 1500 bath together.

So.. curious.. want to know a bit more

    Thanks

  7. There is also a tax and test centre on sukhumvit just before Bangkok Hospital Pattaya

Hi, could you give me more details like on which side of Sukumvit Rd and name etc? Because anyway tomorrow I will go to Bangkok Hospital Pattaya. It would be great if I can combine two tasks together.. Thanks a lot

  8. Hallo,

Besides the license centre near Regent School, is there any other place I can pay motorbike tax?

Last Friday, in the license centre, I could not pay tax because I did not have the motorbike book copy. I showed the clerk that tax invoice of last year with all the detailed info on it, but he still insisted me brining the motorbike book copyblink.png Sigh....

  9. Hey !

I've got my motorbike riding license yesterday cheesy.gif Thanks for all your info and advice :)))

...But it was really time/energy consuming! I started at 8:30AM and arrived home at 15:00 (did theory test for 2 times) (paid the motor taxi driver 600 baht in the end)(the milk tides hurt me like hell as I forgot to bring the pumper).......Watching that video for long hours was really unnecessary and awful. The watching room is noisy, and the font hurts eyes and makes me dizzy.. Anyway, later you will be given a brochure about traffic signs etc. I should have a nap and eat some snacks in the watching room instead of torturing my brain/ear/eyes/back/neck !

Yes, everyone can pass the theory test, if you have strong memory or a pen and paper. Because, if you fail the first time, you can read the correct answers and the questions are the same in the 2nd test!!!

No rental contrat/property certificate is needed at the license centre, only the residence paper is required.

And no marriage paper is required in immigration office for residence certificate , even though the name of the buyer is not my name w00t.gif (Wa ka ka ... I had brought all the docs like miniac, both to Soi 5 and driving license centre and worried for nothing!)

  10. I got the medical certificate this morning. Yes, indeed simple. Thanks!

Another question: For motorbike license only, must I also go to Jontiem SOI 5 for address confirmation and submit rental contract etc ?

My hub's company (Rayong) HR helped me to get a 2 year multi-entry visa. And my 90 day report was just done in this Feb (in Rayong ). Am not sure if I can save the energy of going to Jontiem.

....and.. our apt is bought under my hub's name. How can I submit apt contract !?!?!?!?!?!?!?

I already arranged a motor taxi driver to take me to DL center and back using my motorbike tomorrow morning... Now suddenly comes the issue of Soi 5.. Getting a bit frustrated indeed....

  11. Hi,

Any one can recommend a translation office, preferably in North Pattaya area ? (I live in Naklua soi 18. No guts to ride far before my motor license is done).

Need to translate BB's birth certificate from Thai to German for applying passport.

    Kob Khun Maak !

  12. Thanks guys!

    1. I'll do the medical check at local clinic on Naklua rd. Even closer than BPH from my home. Must go early enough before the cops start checking on street smile.png

    2. The driving test center: will it be less crowded in the afternoon? Does anyone know their exact opening hour ? Maybe I can head there in lunch time.

Alas! I only ride motorbike to nearby markets/shops, less than 1 hour every time... But to get the license....seems so time consuming sick.gif Ah ya ya ya ya

  13. Just talked to the motorbike taxi driver outside our condo. Told me the whole process will take about 4 hours (including the time on the way).

    My question:

    1. I'll go to BPH for medical certificate first. So, I just need to tell the receptionist my visit purpose, and she will tell me what to check, right?

    2. My domestic driving license doesn't cover motorbike. So I cant get a motorbike license so "short cut"like others do. Anyone has experience: for a complete test, normally how long will it take? I plan to go there early in the morning (anyway am an early bird), hope it will not be too crowded. My only headache is time. My baby will cry like hell if she can't get breastfeeding on time !! I really have to calculate my time carefully ahead.

Any useful info is highly appreciated. Thanks a lot !

  14. @ Somtampet: I dont have 2 maids at same time. 1 is the ex-maid. If you feel too bored, do something better than gossiping like street women. I just have my new born baby, hub needs to work during the week, and my parents are in hospital now in my country. I must have somebody to help me. ... Are you satisfied now ?!?!

@ Robinpattaya: Give you a sneer. But if it's your habit to slander others, jump to abrupt judgements etc, go ahead and have fun. Doesn't bother me.

Yes, I've been busy for long time and every day. If they have a branch site in downtown, I would have gone there already. There are so many short-term tourist using (small) motorbikes. They would have been fined many times before they find that place near Regent School.

Sorry, personally I think police here are poor in management and performance. Much more could have been done better: Setting up more cameras to reduce robberies/crimes, checking those building constructions at night and loud hotels and restaurants that disturb the residents nearby, etc and etc

  15. hmmm, both of my maids told me they were also stopped and checked and fined before.

I really would like to have a Thai motorbike riding license. But... the place is so far away and I've heard it takes quite long time.

Why the police don't set up a service site in pattaya city for express process of motorbike license ?!?!?! sick.gif

  16. Sawaddee. I am coming to Pattaya tuesday 22nd January and I am looking for someone to play table tennis with, you are as good as possible and want to play as much as possible, the thing is: I am playing an amateur tournament when I get back here(China) and I want to get closer to the skill I had 9 years ago (I used to play a lot, but it's 9 years ago). Anyone?

Sorry I see the post so late. Have been fighting with the baby for 3 months. Since now the maid comes and I have some free time again.

R u still in Pattaya? If yes, we can go to Fairtex hotel to play sometimes.

About my skill, hmmm..... Used to be the female champion in my ex-compnay... But that still means nothing, I know. In China, too many good players. No one dares to stay he/she is really GOOD in Ping Pong.

You can write message to me if you like to fix a time for playing.

    Happy Snake Year 2013!
