I agree. If there could possibly be a situation, maybe an unexpected death in the family, for the sake of 1000 baht it is a no brainer.
Thanks, all for the help, I agree ,its best to have a re-entry permit in hand, I did intend to obtain one tomorrow sadly IMM is closed, but I must make the journey,

I seem to remember it took about 45 minutes to process the insurance and get the license sticker put on ....
You'll save time by getting your license translated at your local Thai motor vehicle branch before leaving... (assume that was the reference to LTD ?) it ill include the province from which you are from....
mine is "XXX 123 stn" = Surratthani ....
Thanks for the info
Just to point out Im intending to have 3-4 weeks in Langkawi, but want to to my Motorbike with me ( Im from Hua Hin area )
Are you talking about the border crossing in Satun ?
Can i do all this at the Ferry ?

After you have gone through Malaysia immigration on right hand side you can buy insurance and a sticker with your translated Thai numberplate. - How long does this process take
Don't forget to translate your reg book at LTD to English
What is LTD ??

Thanks to all that gave me assistance ….. its really helped me
I'm now in the process of contacting each insurance company for the best offer
I still have one question ….
Why in Thailand is it difficult to find ACCIDENT ONLY INSURANCE COVER ???
it seems i can only find accident insurance that is linked with life cover - which i dont need … or loss of earnings …..which i don't need
additionally the medical insurance offered by the insurance companies is ridiculously low….. how can 100 / 200 k bht be of any use to pay for medium or long term hospitalisation ??
If any one knows of a very good accident only insurance policy please do contact me
Once again many thanks for the help offered
Regards to All
-
Hi All - Please Advise
I have been searching for suitable Medical Accident Insurance cover , specificaly to cover the costs of Hospital Bills incurred from an accident
I ride a Motor Cycle , Im 57 years old in excellent health - most MC Insurance policies only offer up to 100K - 200k bht for medical expenses
Im sure you will agree , this is not nearly adequate
I cant afford the very high Medical Insurance cover
So I'm trying to find a suitable accident Insurance
Ive looked at KASIKORN BANK - its 19,000 bht per annum for only 500 K of medical cover - again i don't think this is enough
or
please tell me what you think is adequate cover in thailand ???????
Can any one please advise of a better company - to emphasis
- i want accident medical / hospital cover
- not interested in life cover.... or loss of work / earnings / or loss of limb
- i do ride a motor bike
in anticipation thanks for your help
Marriage Extension - Non O Enquiry HCMC or Laos
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Posted
Hi All ,
Can someone please advise me.
At the moment I am on a Non O Marriage extension which Expires 13 Oct 2019.
I have 4OOk which matures around 15 September - then takes approx 3-4 weeks in Samui for final approval
But, I may at short notice take up employment in Middle East sometime in Early September - If so I will not be able to do Renewal of Extension in Samui.
My employment will be 3 or 4 months in ME, then 3 weeks thailand etc.
What is my best option for Visa / Extension for another year based on Marriage ?
Is Non O ( with Multi RE- entry ) Marriage from HCMC or Laos my best option ?
Appreciate your help & advise
