  1. A trained chemist. Well it was obviously lack of prospects or job opportunities that radicalized this 'German'. Time to shower more money and resources at the fifth columnists within in the futile hope they will behave.

The Germans had big problems with the Turks when I was there in the 80's.

Ditto the 90's as I observed. Underpasses and metro stations were best avoided at night, at least in certain parts of Frankfurt. I guess it's far worse now.
  2. Another article with an agenda. No mention of Salman Rushdie's response to Prose and the five others: "Six writers in search of a bit of character."

What Salman Rushdie stated not so long ago was that the Satanic verses would never have been published in this day and age. So tolerance (capitulation to violent totalitarians) has obviously changed things since the Satanic verses were first published.

As for the boycotting cowards, they are not worthy to uphold the freedom of expression which is the foundation stone of literature.

  3. Why would the US give oxygen to this group? Have a read of the following...

    https://www.thenation.com/blog/205521/cult-leader-will-tell-congress-fight-isis-regime-change-iran

Whatever her background and motives I think her comments on concessions to Iran on the nuclear deal are valid. Furthermore regime change in Iran, the world's largest sponsor of terrorism would be a good thing. Just take a look at their latest moved hijacking merchant ships to imagine what an Iran with nuclear weapons would behave like.

  4. Economic, academic, and cultural boycotts by civilized countries are the way forward to stop the mindless cycle of violence on both sides.

    Another pipe dream.

There has been plenty of proof posted here that the boycott movement against Israel has been a complete failure and will continue to be a complete failure. Besides lots of support all around the world, it has too much new technology that too many people need.

The Palestinians have no fear of economic, academic, and cultural boycotts, because none of those things have much affect on them.

Indeed in an act of hypocrisy that even some of our esteemed members might struggle to defend the head of the BDS movement actually attended an Israeli university.

  5. There you go, as usual the findings are that Israel is as capable and willing to act no better than the lowlife terrorists they spew about.
You mean like America or the UK or most countries at war? The "lowlife terrorists" are the one that started the conflict in the first place and have refused to maker peace for almost 7 decades, even though they lose war after war. Most people will go pretty far to defeat an enemy that is set on genocide. rolleyes.gif

Yes I too agree Israel at times seems to have its aims set on genocide . As you say no wonder they continue fighting even when beaten.

What an ignorant statement. If Israel had been "beaten", it would not exist and if Israel wanted to commit genocide, they have had numerous chances to do so during wartime, but they have not. In fact, the Palestinian population keeps increasing.

Hamas, on the other hand, call for genocide in their charter.

If Israel commits systematic genocide they would become a pariah state, and YES they would not get away with it, jews are not sacred. It would go to the humans rights court. Israel has no friends. Only US and some countries of no international importance is included in their list of friends.

You claim Iran is a doomsday cult that seeks armaggedon, but Azerbaijan shows that a country with the same and equal branch of Islam can become a moderate religious and secular country and one of the good guy dictatorships with a ruling family that loots and owns the country. Its a good friend of USA, dont forget that they got plenty of oil. No need to mention that Azerbaijan was included in Soviet for a long time, the Russians is practicing their strict orthodox Christianity after the fall of Soviet and were also doing it in secret previously.

Now to my point of this post:

On the other hand I think that Israel might consider some armaggadeon style action if the world use force against Israel. The Israelis will do overkill because of their history and in specific because of pre-WII and WWII history.

Point is, I think Israel is willing to do all sorts of un-21st century stuff if the world says "enough" and takes real action against Israel.

If Israels borders and rights of arabs as the Israelis sees them get questioned by western forces. They would might go down the armaggedon route with WMD and other illegal means.

Why do they have this mentality?

Because of not making much resistance while 7 million jews were killed. They are never ever going to show anything that might be seen as weakness.

Im not judging the majority that did no resistance, in that situation they were in, most of us works/acts the same way.

Israel is not a doomsday cult per se. But if they are going to lose then they will make hell on earth and make sure everyone loses unimaginable losses.

Has it ever occurred to you that the fact Israel has not committed genocide is because they have zero interest in doing so. At least in trying to rationalize (sic) why they haven't you are in effect contradicting some of your fellow esteemed members who are under the illusion that they are.

You are really showing your ignorance here. Israel has friendly relations with Azerbaijan to the extent that Israeli planes were given permission to use Azerbaijani airfields to attack Iran from. There may well be some religious hotheads in Azerbaijan, but the current leaders stamp down hard on them. The fact that Azerbaijani Shia Muslims are moderate does not stop Iranian Shiite twelvers being a death cult of pure evil, which they are.

As for Israel's nuclear deterrent threatening worldwide devastation if called upon, the same applies to the nuclear arsenals of all Countries with such weapons, as you well know.

P.S the world as you put it using force against Israel is just a leftists wet dream, even Israel's neighbors have given up on this one being far more concerned about the Iran you carry water for.

  6. Where I live in Chiang Mai is closer to a prison than a luxury resort. tongue.png

Maybe you stay at that Israeli hotel I stayed at in Chiang Mai. All signs in only hebrew, all thai staff speak hebrew. Shabbiest hotel ive been to, only went there because my girlfriends friend owns the place. They pay all that money to go from Israel to like a 0,5 star hotel in Chiang Mai.
I'd be careful what you admit to, the BDS mafia would have you booted out of the river to the sea club quicker than you can say occupied territories if they got wind of your (ahem) girlfriends friend.

  7. Not mentioned is the 1:1 ratio of combatants killed relative to civilians, a ratio almost unprecedented in modern urban warfare. So the 2000 dead figure repeated ad nauseum by Hamas and their apologists has decreased to 1000, as did the 1500 killed during operation cast lead also came down to 750. This is not about drones but I would refer anyone to the civilian to combatants ratio due to drone attacks. Perhaps the Obama administration should be congratulating Israel on their restraint and accuracy.

    http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/194666#.VT79jCYaySM

This is exactly what I mean by Israel and its apologists being in a state of denial and distortion to justify the massacre of innocent civilians.. First you alter the "more than 2,200 killed" mentioned in the OP to 2,000. Then you pluck a mysterious 1:1 ratio out of thin air and in an instant you make 492 real people disappear.

Those "real people" were Hamas TERRORISTS. That is the whole point.

The terrorist to civilian ratio of Palestinian deaths in Operation Protective Edge is an unprecedented 1:1, a news study released last week reveals - supporting earlier findings regarding the so-called "civilian casualties" Hamas touts to international media.

    http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/185632#.VT8UPeVJ3fI

..and the source according to your link for these amazing figures is..

The Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center (ITIC), also known as Meir Amit Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center in honor of Meir Amit, is an Israeli-based research group with close ties to the Israel Defense Forces and the American Jewish Congress. The organisation is part of the Israel Intelligence Heritage and Commemoration Center (IICC).

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intelligence_and_Terrorism_Information_Center

It was Hamas themselves who admitted 50% of the casualties from operation cast lead were their fighters. This admission came long after the 'facts' used in preparing the Goldstone report were gathered. Of course you one issue activists had long left that building in search of a new bone to chew. You may if you like choose to disbelieve the source as it does not support your poisonous and warped agenda, but it's Haaretz, which is about the only Israeli source you believe, when it suits you to that is.

    http://www.haaretz.com/news/diplomacy-defense/hamas-admits-600-700-of-its-men-were-killed-in-cast-lead-1.323776

So if 49 fighters killed first admitted by Hamas rises to around 700 it does not take a genius to work out that the Israeli sources turn out to be far closer to the truth that wildly exaggerated claims by terrorists and their sympathizers.

  8. Every Dutch person knows about Anne Frank.

Ironically, one of the party polices of this opposition Dutch lawmaker is: severe punishment for violence against Jews and LGBT community persons.

Is he serious?, LGBT, Jew, or whatever, PEOPLE arn't stupid.

I suggest you read what Geert Wilders wrote about his travels to Israel and Egypt where he compared and contacted the state of the world's only Jewish nation to her Arab neighbor. Most of the antiSemitism in Europe comes from Muslim immigrants, this is an indisputable fact. To try and conflate antiSemitism with so called Islamophobia is a liberal multiculturalist attempt to muddy the waters. There is no far right bogeyman, or at least nothing remotely on the scale of the progressive left wing alliance with Islamofascists.

  9. Shocking savagery. Capital punishment for drug offences has no place in the civilised world.

If you go back to the root cause this is correct. The war on drugs is an unnecessary tragedy. In my opinion all drugs should be legalized, licensed and regulated, any Country talking such a stance would have a more solid moral stance when appealing for clemency. As it is Abbott should keep out of this, unless the Australian taxpayer is winning to fund their future detention on Indonesia's behalf.
  10. There is no excuse for not recognizing the Armenian genocide. Erdogan has been particularly aggressive towards anyone calling the 1915 massacres a genocide, as the Pope recently found out. Erdogan is indeed trying to polarize Turkey in a desperate bid to hang on to power, the Armenian issue is yet another manifestation of this. The West should not give in to blackmail any more than the issue of cartoons of Mohammad. Sadly that makes a depressing precedent which suggests some leaders may cave in. Bravo to the Germans for taking a principled stand here.

  11. For "customer concerns" substitute Sh!t Scared of law suits and potential loss of profits.

Actually Pepsi is taking a chance of precipitating new law suits. By removing the aspartame they're indicating something is wrong with it ... or, at least, that's what some ambulance-chasing lawyers would claim.
Until there are successful lawsuits I will reserve my judgement on Aspartame. I do recall many years ago it was badged in a positive way as a sugar substitute, cans of drink often had the Nutrisweet swirl logo.

I do believe in the idea of self-sufficiency, home grown food and avoiding what big food churns out - though to escape from it is very difficult when they are assaulting seed diversity by putting restrictions on heirloom seeds to clear a monopoly for their F1 hybrids. Incidentally with Thailand there are few places on Earth where big corporations have monopolized and controlled the food chain to such a degree.
