  1. Thai efficiency at it's finest. Went to the Sony service centre today, woman receptionist couldn't tell me how much a new remote was, told my partner to contact Sony Bangkok on LINE re ordering a new one. Bangkok asked for photos of old remote, no idea why, had the exact model number inside the old remote. Sent the photos, haven't heard back yet. The woman at the Pattaya office had already taken photos, so not sure why she couldn't have contacted head office herself with the details and ordered a new one. She didn't exactly look rushed off her feet.

there used to be a sony service centre at the Suk and S pattaya road junction, not sure if it's still there but they'd be able to help.....maybe?

Just did a search and it shows one on Suk just near the new Jomtien hospital and near the Gecko shop.

I just had a new tooth issue come up where a 30 year old crown fall off. What is left of the tooth is in bad enough shape that a root canal and new crown is not possible. I also had a false tooth that was attached to the crown on one side so the crown and false tooth fell out together. 1st step is having the remains of the one tooth extracted leaving me with two missing teeth side by side.

    I was given three options:

Two implants with crowns - Approx 60,000 Baht

Permanent denture - Approx 20,000 Baht (I actually forgot the price but I think this is ballpark what I was told)

Removable denture - Approx 4,000 Baht

Since the removable denture is so cheap I decided to go with that to see if I can get used to it and not have problems. If I don't like it I'll probably get the two implants for a permanent fix. Dentist agreed that that was not a bad idea.

I am already in the process of getting another implant on the opposite side and need to wait four months for the implant to fuse with the bone so this new issue leaves me with a couple of big holes that make eating difficult.

This was at Dr. Warin's office on Central Pattaya Rd (Pattaya Klang).

What do you call a permanent denture, implants? I have several teeth missing and also have trouble chewing, but go back the 21st next month to be fitted for a partial denture. Have no idea of the cost yet.

Don't bother - just get the tooth pulled out. The crown ("cap") will be broken in ten years anyway and you'll have a never ending story of  the tooth being drilled down to nothing to fit a new crown (aka "cap")

    Then get a denture fitted.

I had about 10 crowns done when I first arrived in Thailand and have since lost every one of those crowned teeth due to decay getting under the crown and not being aware until it was too late. If I could go back I would have had implants no matter the cost.

    Under the Bridge

Reena Virk, a fourteen-year-old girl, went to join friends at a party and never returned home. Seven teenage girls and a boy were accused of the savage murder.

Thought this was a very good first episode, will definitely continue with it.

I'd steer away from thinking the instrument is inaccurate.

More likely inaccuracy in the tests done at doctors or whatever.

Reason being, conditions vary dramatically at, or on the way to the latter.

Medical staff used to argue with me about my readings so I was advise by my GP to do a series of tests around similar times, night and morning, for a week and look at the average.

Also told me to keep the results and show anyone who asked.

Around a week after, had the need to visit the outpatients section of local hospital, waiting room for 5 hours on hard as seating and freezing air conditioning.

Issue came up, showed them the previous test result sheet, .............oh...mmmm.....ok....no problem.

Well, there was, no hospital blankets given out anymore in the freezing air con because "someone might trip over it" ...........crazy <deleted> these days.

Overall, Omron BP tester should be fine.........maybe you need new batteries.

It also runs on mains power, which is how I use it.

Last time was about two years ago at shop in Bumrungrad when I brought a new cuff. I should do it more often.

But I also have two machines which I alternate to make sure readings are consistent.

Who would do that in Pattaya? I also have two machines, an Omron and a Chinese cheapie, both from Lazada. Both machines give almost identical readings which suggests that they are either both wrong or both right.

I bought the Omron / entry level, from LAZ 'flagship' store, and don't need any history stored.  Gives BP & pulse and all I need to know.

Also picked up "yuwell" 'finger' Oxygen monitor, from local pharmacy, since same price as online, 600 baht, again, entry level, and same one hospital uses.

What is the purpose in monitoring blood oxygen and what can you do if levels are too low?

HEM 7124 , , your Hem7130 cannot be that old , same as you, I always get higher numbers

at the hospital ,that's just the way it is,i would think the result you get at home is more like

the the true numbers , My old Omron was very old ,screen had gone all cloudy.

    regards worgeordie

    I reckon it's 4 or 5 years old.

I have two of the same model you have - both read about the same - and both about 50 or more lower at home rather than when in hospital.  Just take with you to hospital to check - White Coat can be extreme for some of us.  Covid isolation/fears has made it worse IMHO.

Had a visit to local dentist last week, did a BP reading prior to tooth extraction and it was 165/85, and it's always high at hospital visits. At home usually 130/70, pulse 65.
