  1. I've booked some time in Ao Nang for mid January and was trawling YouTube for suggestions on where to go for day trips. I found this one video which is based in Ao Nang and I would like to know where roughly this street with the massage places is.

I've been to ao nang before and stayed at view la villa so a few mins walk from beach road. The soi in question is 26:38.

    Thanks,

  2. Can't stop the money flow for too long, the guys upstairs need their cash.

And tourists who expect the deckchairs and vendors want their chairs and vendors. Not really hard to see why this happened. Demand is there so they need to supply.

Hope the deckchairs are back in place by mid Jan.

Good job to all who moaned and posted on various social media sites to voice out against the removal of these things.

  3. Told you all they would be back and glad to see common sense finally prevailed. It's extremely dangerous from a health perspective for one to be sitting out in that heat and it's not practical to expect tourists to buy umbrellas and lug them around.

For the rest of you that prefer it au natural there are plenty of other places in Thailand where you can just sit on the sand without anything so if your that upset then maybe try going elsewhere.

  4. RCA? Across the road from McDonalds? Still there as of last month.

    McDonalds?

A McDonalds in Ao Nang??? Ao Nang beach off Krabi town? Is that really true? I won't believe this unless somebody sends me a picture of it. I went with my then fiancée to get married in Penang back in 1991 and on the way back we stopped in Ao Nang for a few days of honeymoon. There was nothing there, except a few guesthouses. That's not long ago.

Can someone lighten me up, please??

Everywhere has changed since 1991 my friend.

The "oh bummer, it's not the same as it was when I was there" crowd should stay home.

Unless they like the desert, in which case they will pleased to know that pretty much has not changed haha

  5. Meanwhile, children in the west learn and know nothing of Pol Pot.

Not quite same same. It's not like westerns teenagers are going around with pol pot branded t shirts are they? Apples and oranges. Even the dumbest western folks recognise what the nazis stood for and I doubt any would ever go around with Khmer Rouge branded attire without understanding at a high level what that group stood for.

The Thais who do this are either retarded or are out to intentionally cause offence.

Also should point out, this was the Sacred Heart private English language school.

They do their entire school lessons in English, employ plenty of native English speakers and charge a lot for lessons.

This isn't some backwoods dumb people, this is supposedly the top of the educated ladder in Thailand, well versed in world history.

    How could it happen?

    In such a place?

    By accident?

    Or ignorance?

    Same for Prayut's video!

It's deliberate and everyone knows it.

  7. I'm not sure if the right word is believe, but I do think there are sometimes unexplained forces at work which may or may not be related to what we term 'black magic'. People can sit here and say it's rubbish or its this and that. Ultimately we have no definitive proof to be able to make those statements.

Whatever it is i would steer clear of it as it is generally associated with something negTive.

  8. I wouldn't say us foreigners like dark skin as much as we just don't care about skin color. Although, personally, it saddens me a bit to see girls trying so hard to make their skin lighter.

I think it's hilarious tbh. I love it when they go to far and in photos they look like ghosts.

That's true. If we're going to be honest here, I kinda think the ones that go to great lengths to make their skin white kinda look sick or something.

No. I am not look sick. My original skin its tan but i make it looks brighter. Not pale. Not like thai-chinese.

    I am 99%Thai.

99% baa mak :-) let's see a pic of you with all the face whitening smack on and we will be the judge if you look a bit ghosty or not.

I'm sure there are plenty of strange observations when in the kingdom but the whole ace whitening thing has to top the lot.

Personally I don't have a preference as I enjoy the diversity. If I did have to lean to one side it would probably be on the dark side. Just comes across as more exotic looking to me.
