The poster would need to know your name and address to even think about it, it's a non starter and probably drunken posting.

Using a visa agent helps to eliminate all visa problems. You pay his fee and in 1 - 3 days you can collect your passeport with the needed visa. All happy, you, (a little poorer) the agent, the immigration, in many cases Bangkok Bank (a little richer). You also can go directly to Pattaya Immigration (ask in the copy shop what officer to contact), pay 16k and walk out with your visa. (This only applies for a Non-O and the following 1 year retirement extension)
Munotlaw
You only pay 16k if you obtained an extension via corruption

Quite right never learn it as they will not understand you most of the time if you tried. I don't want to talk about som tam, lakorn or hear gossip about the neighbors anyway. Just get the basics and forget trying to converse with them, even the natives have trouble with the language at times leave them to it.

As the offices all seem to have their own rules on this or not it's anyone's guess. Needs to phone the office where he is staying to prevent an unneeded journey.

Posters saying they never had a problem is a bit like saying they never had a heart attack so kind of doubt people saying they had one. Corruption is a daily on going crime in a lot of offices, just from what we see posted on here.

Only ever been in one once and never intend to again, over priced poor quality coffee.

Yet another case where the rules do not state something is needed but where some officers make their own rules up, will they ever abide by the actual laws of the land? I'd like to see a written rule that says 5 pp copies are needed just to do a 90 day report.

No they just hoard it at home

Thai airline staff can check if you are on the blacklist, I know this for a fact, others as well offer as a service, copy of passport needed

Remember that Jane Goodhall (think that was her name) years ago got about 30 years for drugs and of course a life ban. After she got out early she did a degree and thought it would be jolly to visit her old friends in Thailand. Applied for and granted a visa, only to be arrested and sent straight back to the UK from Bangkok.

No check is made when applying for a visa, I suppose they think nobody would be that reckless, do let us know if you successfully get round the ban. It's not the visa that counts, it's immigration at the other end.

But she is blacklisted, there is no absence of it

how does the airline know this?
It's irrelevant what the airline know, it's what immigration know at the other end that matters. People who have been banned after serving prison sentences for drugs have got visas and boarded flights in the past, only to be sent back when they landed.

Never wear shorts, they are for newbies and sexpats.

try a different airline...
what would be the point? she is blacklisted to enter.

Thai immigration are not stupid, you can change you name but never your date of birth. Again it would be an illegal action to try and get round a lawful ban.

They usually retain your passports on board and even if not would lead to more problems, all the 'helpful suggestions' I have seen are all advocating illegal practices

what would be the point in clearing her no fly name to Thailand if she is blacklisted to enter the Kingdom?

I have not seen any abusive or insulting posts

One of the reasons Thailand is to be admired- no drawn out appeals going on for years, especially when a case is black and white. Thailand does not get many things right but it does with illegal immigration, like it or not.

In this case it was clearly not out of control, she just could not be bothered about it, until too late.

Tesco employee slight of hand.

Tesco have the worst till displays, Big C the best. Items on offer do not always come up on screen as they are checked it gets deducted at the end. Lots of times higher price at check outs than on the shelf, but Tesco and Tops still give you the item free if it happens and you complain, got free wine last time in Tesco. Big C stopped that as it happens too often, probably the shop with least problems and best staff is 7/11. I like Foodland as all items are usually price marked and no long queue at the checkouts.
