  1. As you already have an aerial that I know works with many, probably all, of the DVB-T2 set top boxes available, maybe just get one for about 400 baht, as it seems your TV digital receiver is being 'fussy'. I remember that I couldn't get an Aconatic digital TV to work, so attached one of these boxes to the aerial instead. You just plug it in to an HDMI port.

That looks similar to what I had but what does "This piece will not have an RG6 antenna ***"" as the link states"

I bought something that "looks" like that two days ago but all I get is picture, no sound, so I went to Amori, see above, and they could not help!

PS; I get sound out of the HDMI & USB inputs from non TV sources so I do not believe it is a TV sound problem more an input problem!

PPS; I have also reset the TV sound settings to factory with no result!

Have you tried re-tuning the stations with the 'no sound' aerial attached?

What signal strength levels are shown?

    Thanks!

I know that when they turned off whatever it was back in 2018 we bought a new aerial and bits and pieces.  I now know, thanks to you that I can ignore all reference to analogue.  Do you happen to know what the aerial specs I mentioned earlier mean?

I have looked on Lazada and google but get very confused with different Aerial/booster specs like "Orbit D, QID, D7A, D2A D9A & D6E etc!

So you just need a replacement aerial.

I just bought the cheapest I found on shopee for a TV that is in a room shielded by 2-storey building to it's north and it works well.

I have previously re-used old analogue aerials for digital TVs and they worked fine, but this room's position needed a 'proper' one.....

Yes I switched to something like this which was taped to my window and it worked but it got blown away recently and I have no picture/specs of the actual aerial I had.

Amori had at least 6 different types of areal but nobody seemed to know which one did what!

I saw three that looked identical, even down to the colours but the "salesman" said they were for different system!!

    This is similar but seems much bigger and not the same as the one I had;

To clarify, you no longer could watch terrestrial TV when the analogue signals were turned off 1st January 2018, or you have been able to watch TV, on what would be a digital TV, since then until your aerial exited stage left recently?

    That is my problem!

I do not understand the "Lots of choices available", hence my asking for help to identify which choices meet my requirement!

To put it in simple terms I don't really understand the phrase "Assuming your TV isn't digital - an analogue" wrt my problem.

Please all of you are discussing this with myself, who is a self confessed troglodyte when it comes to Thailand and TV reception out with cable/satellite!

Please bear with me and a technical description, preferably in English of what to ask for would be greatly appreciated!

I believe that a "smart TV' can connect to the internet itself without other connections just like a laptop! If so my TV is NOT a Smart TV.  It has HDMI (2 sockets) USB and the standard RCA video/Audio type inputs if that helps.

When I get home I will see if I can find it's specs and post them.

Thank you all for your patience with me!

Did you use to watch TV on it before the analogue signals were turned off a few years back?

Ministry of foreign affairs (MFA) still publishes prices for Non-O single as 2000 Baht, multiple entry 5000 Baht.

From that the consulates worldwide calculate their local prices.

1900 Baht is not a visa fee. Fee for one year extension. Completely different topic.

I know about the 2000 Baht from own experience. Paid that in 2022 for a >visa!< issued by Khon Kaen immigration (a special case).

If this NZ price explosion would apply worldwide we would hear a lot about it. For now I put it on wait and see.

Yes, I should have said extension fee. It is about time for a 'cost-of-living' increase though - my barber has doubled his price to 60 baht over the past 20 years......

I'm more concerned about the 'minimum in the bank' being doubled again......

I don't like to use the phone apps at all. That's why I was disgruntled when SCB removed online internet banking. Now, to use SCB I have two choices, use the phone app I don't like to use or try to find a SCB branch that's still open and go there. Or I guess I can use my SCB ATM card on another bank's ATM machine. That appears to be what SCB is doing using other bank's ATMs as the only option so they can save on "servicing" their own. They're a parasite like the cuckoo laying its eggs in other birds' nests.

Yes, I agree regarding being forced onto the phone, which seems to me a much more 'app friendly' environment giving app access to more information, such as what other apps are loaded and god knows what else. My wife uses SCB just to check balance, as she does with her Bangkok Bank app, payment is not enabled. Luckily I bank with Bangkok Bank and will not use the app. My Linux desktop on Raspberry Pi serves my needs.

  9. The hoses supplied with washing machines are thick and very robust, the potential weakest point being the metal clamp securing the ends.  In reality the actual washing machine connection internally is probably the weakest point, it usually being a push-fit rubber grommet on the solenoid valve.

The more flexible metal encased toilet squirter pipes are another matter, with a very thin pipe - the thick white versions are much stronger if less flexible.IMG_4352.thumb.jpeg.b5c2b9a981a35ceba656814a5a465bc4.jpegIMG_4353.thumb.jpg.e94a5e1b8fa8cdbcc44a0f4fc0155b90.jpg

  10. The main issue with the vast majority of the wifi security cams available now, it seems including your FNKvision, is that you must use their app to interact with them. This means that you are not able to organise what I consider to be the most important function, i.e. recording motion activated images over FTP to a NAS or other device on your LAN. This used to be standard until the mobile app 'ease of use' method of management and the forcing of storage on SD card or in the cloud, with it's associated security issues and costs. I have had to resort to building my own cams with raspberry Pis running motioneye to get localised, minimal data storage and full control over image manipulation.
