  1. Funny I have many friends I made while working in China, and they all use the company internet to get there email out with out going through Communist security, and they say the death rate is still incredible, and in fact it can take to to 3 days for deceased bodies to be picked up, now I am not sure if this is true or not, but are the Thai people ready to take this risk just so the elite cate keep their pockets full, this will turn out worse than the conflict with Issan during the protest of a few years ago

  2. It was revealed today that the Thai PM has ignored an official Letter from the Australian PM, stating that Thailand is breaking International Law by detaining an Australia Permanent resident and threatening to deport him to a country that is in breach of International law

Australia Citizens are really upset with Thailand after the fact of how Australia helped Thailand when boys from a football club where trapped in a cave that was filling with water

What to Thai people think of this fact that Thailand is treating a country that donates money to Thailand on a regular basis

  3. "I'm asking because I have a friend that is overly paranoid, he sells stuff on ecommerce sites from West to West, nothing to do about Thailand. He also has a business in the USA that he controls from over here, again, nothing to do with Thailand."

Actually, it has everything to do with Thailand, because that is where your "friend" is when he works.

So, as he is, (according to the letter of the law), working illegally, I would think that the RTP do have the powers to seize his laptop and any other evidence.

According to this line of reasoning, this would mean that anyone who transacted business online in Thailand would be accused and presumably found guilty of working illegally. This would mean that anyone who checked their work email, took a client phone call or did something work-related while on holiday would be in the same category.

No country I have ever heard of operates such a policy. So lets not get paranoid.

  4. If some one achieves a ban on another parties ability to carry on his business.

Then unless the banning party wins the case with no side judgments

Any person or person who suffer financially from the loss of his right to make money using the property banned in a legal manner

Has the right to Sue the 1st party, also for loss of income due to his involvement in denying him his legal rights

Has someone just opened Pandoras box

  5. And this is crystal clear.

The man has nothing to hide or being afraid to testify.

We all know the reasons of that crackdown and we also know that the reds were responsible for what happened.

Anarchy is not acceptable and will be tolerated the same way if happens again.

All other excuses and crying by certain members should be ignored.

Quite correct. Prayuth and his men showed true fortitude and patience in the face of those brutal terrorists even when they were questioned as to why they were being too tolerant of them. Ahbisit was even being questioned over his control of the army as they were a force with no teeth in the outset when they used rubber bullets and water cannons against military grade weapons...

In Brisbane, Australia a man with a knife enters the Queen Street Mall while everyone is trying to go about there business and THAT IS WHEN the police come in and used live fire.

In Bangkok, Thailand brutal terrorists threaten to blow up LPG truck, perform grenade attacks at Thai banks, attacked Thai charity with grenades, stormed parliament, attacked NPP and TPI buildings with M16 and grenades, (this was around the time tear gas and rubber bullets were fired by the soldiers), stormed police hospital, stormed TV station (people started questioning Ahbisits control of the soldiers after the lack of resistance they offered the terrorists on this occasion), bomb attacks on electricity pylons, 2 police taken hostage, destroyed CCTV cameras and dumped tyres on sky train tracks and THAT IS WHEN the army came in and used live fire.

Of coarse the UDD want you to believe that people with flowers in their hair were signing kombaya around a camp fire while a guitarist wearing a peace symbol necklace with long braided hair was being slaughtered by a weapon firing 300 bullets a second in the merciless grip of a huge demonizing muscle bound soldier that has fire in his eyes and a vendetta to kill as many innocent people as he can.

Prayuth testifying will only make the brutal UDD terrorists look worse than they already look.

There are no similarities between Australia and this brutal Yellow scourge, that is why the Australian government has banned the Junta from ever visiting its shores. Australia knows a massacre of innocents by a war machine when it sees one.

Also you need to include the fact that the Australia Government has just about banned all Men for bringing Asia girlfriends back to Australia with a near 400% increase in partner Visas

Live fire zones set up in the middle of the city, over 100,00 live rounds fired by the army and over 2,500 high velocity sniper rounds fired, over 90 people murdered (including those cowering in the temple) and several thousands injured - nothing to hide?

How is it that the Yellows (PAD, PITAK SIAM, PDRC) have spent far more time protesting in the streets (and airport) yet the military has never felt the need to go out and slaughter them?

Anarchy is not acceptable? <deleted> was it that Suthep and his merry mob of Southern thugs were doing? Your double standards defy logic.

People in the streets fighting for their freedom get massacred by their own military and you side with the killers - despicable.

Amazing number of shots fired by trained army and trained snipers, and so few people injured or killed.???

Over 100,00 live rounds fired by the army and over 2,500 high velocity sniper rounds fired, over 90 people murdered (including those cowering in the temple) and several thousands injured.

Dad's Army would have a better success rate than that or is a Red Shirt supporter telling porkies again

    Here is a fact

On 17 May, Thai military helicopters dropped leaflets on the Red Shirt's main encampment, urging them to leave. The Red Shirts responded by firing homemade rockets at the helicopters.

As much as you guys might think you are able to, you cannot just make up facts.

    Army under fire over bullets

The army has ordered all units to return unused bullets from last year's protests after it was revealed in parliament that 100,000 were fired, including about 2,500 sniper rounds.

Pol Lt Col Somchai Phetprasoet, a Puea Thai MP for Nakhon Ratchasima and chairman of the House committee on military affairs, told the House that army units withdrew about 600,000 bullets from arsenals for the crackdown, including 3,000 7.62-mm bullets for SG-3000 sniper rifles.

They used more than 100,000 of them in their operations against red-shirt protesters.

    excuse me

but if your facts are correct

at the best all it proves is that 100,000 where not returned

    Not how Many where used

souvenirs and sale of weapons is big business in Thailand

and they on;ly have any value if un used

  7. While the "yellow shirt" people are obviously enjoying kicking the "dead horse" around, they forget that they are in the minority in Thailand. Seems they could be more judicious of their time in power trying to unite the country instead of pissing off the majority. If I hear "Thaksin's corruption" one more time I'll scream. There is so much corruption in this country there is no one in power or wealth who has not benefited from it. Would someone tell me how an Army general becomes a multimillionaire? Just remember, the present parliament is 100% appointed; not one has been elected. And guess who did the appointing? And which party only gets into power when there is a coup, military or judicial. Trouble's a brewing, and no one's paying attention.

    you forgot to say

the have been authorised by his majesty

and my Thai wife believe s what he says al good thai's obey

ooops sorry of coarse this not apply to you as you not thai

  8. How can you seriously put a train doing 300Kph on line 150km long to a holiday resort, The Chinese done it on Tianjin line 120ish ks , but that's from Beijing to an Tianjin which is the 4th biggest city in China,Population 14 million But Bangkok to Pattaya , couple of dozen piss heads and ladyboys. Never happen far too expensive

If you believe only a couple of piss heads and some lady boys ever travel to Pattaya every day, I know where you spend your days washing away reality

all you need to do is see the hundred of Thais that catch the Vans from Victor monument every day plus all the other Thai pick up places

the buses that carry the merchants who buy goods in Bkk to sell in Pattaya

when we lived in Pattaya many years ago my Thai wife made 2 trips a day to Bkk picking up goods for her Thai employer

Look at the 4-5 star accommodation hotels in Pattaya on a long weekend where Thai families go for a summer beach holiday in Pattaya

impossible to get an empty room

It seems many Farlang thing of Pattaya as only a sex city and not take the time to see the commerce here with Thai's

So okay I will agree that purist Farlang can make a quick trip to Pattaya in 30 mins live his dreams and be back in Bkk in 2 hrs time

will see the trains full and many long lunch hours

  9. I should have been dead years ago if that mix kills . . . . facepalm.gif .

You're lucky and have a rigid constitution then. A casual friend of mine died through that combination.

He drank a lot of booze, was an alcoholic (were're talking heavy liquor first thing in the morning).

He went on a heavy night binge. Woke up just after dawn. Took a cold shower, popped some valium to get back to sleep, never woke up again. The combination slows your heart down to the point it fails to beat.

This happened on Koh Tao and he used to own a bar on the beach at Sairee.

Like in a Holiywood movie, some one does something on his own and dies

Then with amazing insight people know what and how he did it

Amazing as to the fact he dies so was unable to tell any one what he did

    Ripleys Believe it or Not

  10. Not just a snub but a full on reprimand in the lecture that US State Dept Official Russell gave at Chula Uni today. I bet the yellow shirt PDRC academics in the audience were seething.

"We are concerned about the significant restraints on freedoms since the coup," he said. "Ending marital law throughout the country and removing restrictions of speech and assembly – these would be important steps as part of genuinely inclusive reform process that reflects the broad diversity of views within the country."

    http://www.khaosodenglish.com/detail.php?newsid=1422273247&typecate=06&section

What are the chances that PM Prayuth will follow the advice of his country's closest ally and great protector? Zero - Ending martial law and allowing freedom of speech would allow the vast majority of anti coup citizens to express their views and opinions. No way he'll let that happen.

Or you could say it would allow the vast majority of anti coup leaders to express their views and build up tension between Thai people again. and the innocent may be caught in the cross fire

Unlike you…. No way My family wants this to happen.

    It

  11. And the USA's continual intervention isn't?

I agree. The US should get completely away from Thailand and leave it alone. Of course if it did, Japan would too because Japan is very afraid of Thailand's new best buddy, China. China has threatened to take some of Japan's islands, has tried to block shipping routes and air routes and...

So the US and Japan who are the two largest buyers of Thai exports, and who have massive industrial investments in Thailand should just go away and stay away.

The US should announce that it will no longer honor its treaty to defend Thailand.

Pull all US and Japanese manufacturing, stop buying any imports from Thailand, refuse to sell (or give) Thailand any military hardware or training, and just go away and leave a hollow shell.

The US has no right to look after its investments or its allies.

Thais after the US and Japan pull out and "leave them alone."

    attachicon.gifnea.jpg

The US can never turn its back on Thailand

Try to us its WE ARe The world rules, yes

For every inch the US pulls out China will take up the empty space

I may not be happy with the truth

But the fact is China is now the new Super Power

The US is just trying to keep its head above water

  12. Dear Mr. Moderators

Why do you allow people to say the present government is illegal

The Facts are this Government like them or not has been endorsed and there for approved by his Majesty

Stating that he has approved an illegal government is clearly Majestic and an insult to the Monarchy

I would ask all members to please point this out to all posters who do not accept his majesty word as law

  13. "The NCPO said the junta had nothing to do with the decision by the NLA and the assembly members simply acted in unity to vote for Yingluck's impeachment."

...and most people believe in the "tooth fairy" and "santa claus"...

    and so does my daughter

What they are really saying is that they will do their very best to create a deeper divide and if they can possibly get away with it their violent thugs will once more come out on the streets.

These people will never accept, even in the face of overwhelming evidence, that their Govt did anything wrong nor that they should be answerable to the law.

There has been evidence presented by both sides and a verdict given on that evidence, those of us who have followed this by looking at the evidence rather than on an emotional 'she was or was not guilty' know it is a fair verdict.

Those who refuse to accept the truth and rule of law will now make any excuse to cause trouble.

Do you not think that the millions who voted for Her see both the coup and the impeachment as a slap in the face , in fact it is an insult to the electorate. What would you do if the Military took over your government at home , buy a pair of jack boots and join up , or protest for your freedom

    To answer your question

My Thai wife and her family

and the majority of her village voted for Yingluck

    and they are Issan people

But to many close friends ever died or are seriously suffering now because of the rice rip off

During the protest both my Thai wife and may of her friends spent 2 week protesting on the streets of Bkk, pleading for help

Yes millions where conned or paid at the poling booth, but don't think that a high percentage have now changed there mind

    You talk about freedom

In the last months of last year, we where scared to walk the street of Bkk under Yingluck's government

Now unsay the Junta we feel safe

Try walking in our shoes before telling us what is right or wrong

Oh how soon we forget that it was SUTHEP THAT CAUSED THE MADNESS!!! But because Thais do not support the rule of law and order they did what they what they are so famous for doing, protesting and whining till they get their way. If they didnt like what the previous government did they should have done what the civilized countries do and thats vote them out of office.

The only reason "we feel safe" is utter BS. People are oppressed with less freedom than ever! The country is under martial law, people cannot talk freely (nor have they ever been able to for that matter) they are under THREAT of jail 24 hrs a day from speaking their minds.

You people who support the Junta are a warped bunch. There are no words to describe how lacking you are in life in general.

And quit the whining about people committing suicide. Its another BS argument. Using dead people to support your illogical views is absurd. Those people died because of mental illness not because of a government or Yingluck.

How about all the terrorism in the south, you gonna pin that on her too? Why dont you do that? Or do those people matter?

You Junta supporters seriously make me sick to my stomach! You have no clue about life, democracy or freedoms! You are weak minded and cant think for yourselves and want the government to give you everything.

The farmers/fishermen in Thailand are nothing but whiners looking for handouts for everything they do! They want the government to set prices and subsidize their crops and in that way they dont have to do anything but plant, work fields and the government give them money. The farmers are nothing but lazy sub servants of the people who control this country and its <deleted> archaic principles. Its a mess, always has been, and if you think that a bunch of military people can fix it you are out of touch.

Yes this is a rant. Im so sick of all this i love the junta crap I could puke. Maybe I should go kill myself and give the red people a reason to use the death and suicide card. <deleted> disrespectful bastards using the deceased. No, of course I wont but, you get the point.

I cant wait until the passing....

O.M.G your posting made me cry

but Then I looked out the window and saw all the happy people

so I now feel happy again

  15. I can only re issue what has already been said,

People in Bkk and many other places say they are more happy and secure with this present government than they have been for many years with all recent governments..

They can sleep at night without being afraid of their city being burned to the ground or being taken over by Red terrorists..

Tax money is not being wasted in buying rice at double the global price ... And as for the generals making a balls-up...

They came in to protect the country from civil war caused by the last government...

Time you spent time in their shoes, before demanding the world need to live by your rules

Must be time for a free and fair election then tezza. Then we'll see how your Isan family and all the other Isan families vote. The ultimate arbiter - as your and my words mean nothing.

Also agree with Valentine that it is a positive that the UDD and PTT may move on from the ultimate influence on the Shins. It's time for these movements to evolve and to truly represent the needs of their rural poor and working class constituency and provide an electable alternative to the Democrat Party-Military Elite-Bangkok Civil Service and Business Elite-PDRC - Yellow Shirt coalition that currently fills the NLA, NCPO and runs the county though it was never chosen by the people.

My Thai wife is in full agreement that we need a full election in the not to distant future

But she wants all the corruption of the past solved first

a quick election now is like leaving hospital while the infection is still inside her body

I guess if Thai's can wait. then I must also be happy to wait

Living in Thailand you learn lot the way they think,

Best to live somewhere where your wife still thinks about her body and her family

where back in Australia she feels once married she can eat eat eat.

ans sh takes up twice the space you do

    Just my 2 cents worth

I sometimes think if I could live here for 100 years, & know the language inside out, I would still never fully understand the Thai mindset. You get glimpses & once you think you have it wired something comes up which throws out all the preconceptions. However, it is all part of the fun & challenge of living here.

Are you taking about Thailand or a female ?

  16. One slightly odd aspect of the puppet assembly's vote is the arithmetic.Overall the NLA voting breaks down as follows 100+ army goons plus 90 crazies from the Democrat Party,PAD and other assorted fascists. We know the order went out to convict Yingluck despite the illegality of the process and lack of evidence - so it's a bit mysterious why the other 2 accused were acquitted.Any sensible person (farang reactionaries don't bother responding) care to comment?

Some people love to re write history

before the Junta it was always the Butlers Fault

  17. I think all these posters who believe the "Reds" have lost support for Yingluck or the PTP are delusional. Go back and read the TVF topics after Thaksin was convicted and then fled, you will see the same conclusion from what I call the "vocal minority" who said the "TRT were finished as well as any support for Thaksin". Fast forward to today and I am reading the same things again.

Now they say they will not support them because of all the rice farmers lost money because of the scheme. The same people said before only 20% qualified to take part in it and the majority of the money went to large commercial farms and people importing rice from Cambodia. Seems a bit like they are trying to have it both ways whilst contradicting themselves.

Many Thai's I spoke to yesterday were angered by the verdict and were far from indifferent about it.

Seems like Yingluck in adamant about fighting this and will not just go away quietly. I would predict she will file a case with the supreme court to fight the ruling instead of waiting out the 5 year ban. I don't see her fleeing and I don't think the Junta is stupid enough to put in jail over this.

    Or maybe, just maybe

A new leaf has turned and this is not about the junta as you put it

I have lived here in Thailand for 2 years and hope for a bette future

why so many people want it to stay the same as it has in the past

    as John Lennon ne said

    GIVE PEACE A CHANCE
