  1. It's good to see that some of the world's influential media are commenting about the disgraceful insurrectionist Suthep and his rich or gullible or paid supporters. The Washington Post headline says: "Thailand’s anti-democracy protests should provoke a harsh rebuke from the U.S."

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/thailands-anti-democracy-protests-merit-a-rebuke-from-the-us/2014/01/15/ca2205a8-7e1b-11e3-95c6-0a7aa80874bc_story.html

Waste of time when they should be highlighting the crimes and misdemeanors of the disgraceful criminals in the please Taksin party.....

Thaksin is viewed as a statesman by the US and the 'go to man' whereas Suthep is viewed has...(enter your own description

  2. Hes already had an arrest warrant, why are the BiB handing out water to the protesters instead of arresting this loon?

Whilst I don't agree with the kidnapping threats I think the reason for not arresting Suthep is as I've mentioned before and is stated in the OP.

But the national police chief said earlier that arresting the protest leader must be taken in caution as he is always surrounded by guards and protesters.

So far the caretaker government has avoided confrontation and this suggestion by someone who might also be called a loon will jepordise that.

Just a little "not topic" . I was watching Suthep on Tuesday on his afternoon stroll and blue sky has been very creative in its camera work. The camera was always looking back at Suthep and his ring of body guards but never ever looking forward to see the crowds...because the crowds were non existent. Further to the ring of guards there was a constant stream of people moving up the pavement in line with Suthep to make it appear the streets were thronging with people...not.

Also during the day when crowds are very low at the stages blue sky always shoots from within the crowd and never from the stage into the crowd... very few people in attendance. Yet at night it shows views from the stage when the office workers have come to stare at the freak show and it is dark (disguising spaces).

    Its over lad..clear off now

  3. They had guns and hand grenades and were well organized, yet attacked his house when it was empty and used fire crackers rather than the grenades and guns, not to mention them being apprehended within hours of the event. The capture of them was announced by one of the leaders of the PDRC seemingly before the police new..............

Did you even read the OP?

Did you see the picture of the hole in the roof in the other paper? Do fire crackers do that?

Its hard to accept the truth..even when it stares you in the face. For years you have fought it. Set yourself free from the lies you peddle. Not winning an argument for 3 years...I admire your tenacity but not your beliefs

  4. What the tell give the BMA the right to remove the cameras unless they are trying to cover something up.

"It was well planned" ...of course it was , Abhisit was on the planning committee. BMA .. is that under the control of the Dems.

Staged the firecracker toss...oops what about those cameras. Can we pass a law that only applys to certain people in Thailand. It is now illegal to use the following words, 'educated' and 'middle class' in the same sentenced as to to not confuse the simple folk.

  5. It bugs me that nobody really wants to talk about who is financing this charade and the pad, pital siam, white maks, astv, blue sky tv.. They are what is killing Thailand far worse than Thaksin is. If I had to cover it in one word it would be...lineage. Check who the creators of a lot of big Thai companies are related to.... The singha heiress 's lineage was exposed in a recent article in the States and many are like her.

  6. The overnight vigilante attacks on the protesters continue. One might be skeptical of any police assistance in this respect, as it seems to have had no effect up until now. And it does seem strange that such a request would have had to have been made, rather than assumed.

nobody gets hurt because they are doing it to themselves because they cant up the anti during the day, even with threats of harming PTP ministers kids and kidnapping government MP. Give Suthep a spade and he sure digs a hole

  7. is this a joke?

These so called PDRC guards are mostly wannabe cops who think now they are above the law!

A friend who owns a business on Silom road just contacted us on Facebook asking for help. One of his female employees was supposed to be picked up after work by a relative who never showed up last night.

Turns out while he was waiting for her he was apprehended by these so called "guards" - taken away against his will and held for several hours - they "took" - stole his motorbike and did not return it to him after they they finally let him go.

He called the police 191 - but of course nothing happened except to tell him to go to a police station.

I am waiting now for more details as to why they think they had the right to detain somebody illegally and took the bike from him.

In the meantime I advised him strongly to at least file a police report in case the bike is used in a crime and for insurance reasons.

The rap sheet is growing on these paid for thugs

  8. Yep, and the Democrats have admitted to spending more money than PTP to bribe and buy votes. The EC clearly looks like they are in favour of Suthep.

And now everyone is against the current government, over 5 million people showed up in Bangkok the last time to oppose them.

I don't see how the PTP will have a chance in hell in winning the election.

I think Suthep should take them on in an election. They have everything going against the PTP.

    IMHO.

Pardon? YL agrees with the EC and the EC begs for Suthep's word and hs says no - are you sure the EC is with Suthep?

Everyone is agreeing with the elected government except the democrats (how mad does that sound!?!)

Since you think that the PTP are so down and Suthep would win, *you* go tell him what the rest of the world can't get into his head - stop protesting and start campaigning! Make friends not enemies! The rest of the world has sided with YL and the democratic process - it is distinctly cringeworthy that he uses the banner of democracy to crusade against the democratic process.

Do you want to know more? attachicon.gifRL32593.pdf

Page 2 of the introduction gives you the reason for all this trouble and the reason they are so scared of Thaksin

  9. Once again the PTP and Yingluck give more ground and Suthep refuses to even sit down and talk.

At the end of the day Suthep can sit down and talk about reform and if the PDRC don't get what they want they can go right back to protesting as is their right.

Once again its painfully clear Suthep has no interest in peace or negeotiation merely stirring the pot until finally the army are forced to step in. Beyond that he has no real hope for victory or any other avenue for acheiving any of his stated goals.

Even the Democrats are sitting down with other groups today for peace/reform talks and if they can get what they want Suthep will be hung out to dry or at the very least forced into a humiliating retreat after all his grandiose rhetoric.

The government has been in power for 2.5 years

The government had it's chance for reconciliation - and blew it

They had their chance for a just amnesty bill for their supporters - they blew it

They had their chance to use their house majority to legislate fairly and legally - they blew it

Who in their right mind would trust them now?

    About 17,000,000+

  10. To be fair if all parties wanted to find a mutually beneficial outcome to the current fiasco whatever it may be, it seems churlish for parties not even to attend. No one said they had to agree on anything, i expect that the wider audience will summize it just goes to show that certain persons dont want to resolve the situation anyway other than their own. I think even if it was for PR reasons alone, it would of sent a good signal for everyone to be there to at least give the impression that they had intentions to solve this situation amicably rather than heading down a potentially very dangerous and violent path.

Unfortunately nobody is ever neutral...even the EC. Like Abhisit and Leek Pai on the stage at the start of 'shut down Bangkok' on Monday. They p1ss in one pot and Yingluck squats in another. One good thing happening here is that when Suthep falls his career along with other Dem MP's and some Public Body members is well and truly in the toilet..

  11. Should not dress in black, and carry weapons. ph34r.pngph34r.png

my thoughts exactly - considering several protest sites have come under weapons fire at night these police were either extremely stupid or had sinister intent - either way they shouldn't have been there without uniformed police with them

Do you realise the stupidity of your comment. Go with uniformed officers and give Suthep the confrontation he craves. The protes sites , like Marks ranch, is all done by their own people.

  12. Well played Yingluck. Continue this and the rank and file will get bored. ..as many Bangkokians are. Sent from my GT-I9300T using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

Nothing but respect for the way Yingluck has handled this mob. Due worldwide respect is being shown to this government. Removing all chance of confrontation. Back to you Suthep...how you going to kick it off now

"Handled this mob" lol when you realize you can't win the best you hope for is a stalemate.

In your little world you think you are always winning. Who will be receiving the plaudits in the international press and minds of international politicians

  13. Next it will be posters hanging up around Thailand highlighting "Wanted. Dead or Alive"with a pic of Suthep below it. Maybe 20 paces at dawn with tear gas and water cannons will be a PTP request? Or my favorite from the Western movie, Silverado "We're gonna give you a fair trial, followed by a first class hanging." And going by Jatuporn's quotes in the past, I am sure it is close to the UDD paramilitary leaders mind.

A think an appropriate quote for Suthep is from the deathrow film with Sean Penn(or was it tom hanks)..."dead man walking boss..dead man walking"

  14. 5000 in KK. Where have all the red shirts gone?

Not a sole at the government buildings at 10am but 5000+ at 12.20. I gave them my full support in their efforts to keep democracy out of the hands of this modern day Hitler. Reds across the region must have totalled maybe 100,000 + on day 1. No thugs on motorbikes or many young men, mainly older citizens. Maybe keeping the naughty boys on the sidelines just in case Suthep fancies his chances

...I am not your rival...I am the people

  15. big day out with rage against the machine as headliner. would love to see potential people's council leaders teamsheet prior to kicking off, but what do i know. the people know what they are doing.

555 Not a chance of getting details. You know now people like Sondhi, Abhisit, Suthep, Srimuang, that turkey of ASTV will be on it. Would you buy a second hand car of this mob.

  16. I like what he has to say, so do many Thai People and his popularity seems to be growing, not shrinking, despite acts of violence from the other side (or third parties, whichever may be the case)

An election would change absolutely nothing, for the better. I think, we all know that. I agree, that reforms must come first, to close some of the loopholes.

A Nationwide referendum, makes total sense to me, after the details get worked out, on how the reforms should look.

Referendums are democracy. Everybody will get to vote on the new Constitution. If they people don't like, what they see, they have the opportunity to vote it down.

I am presuming the guy in the grey shirt, with a machete raised about to strike a police officer, is a third party or even better a red shirt.

  17. At the movement's rally site near the government headquarters, former soldier-turned-protester Anan Jandontree has produced about 1,000 homemade flak jackets filled with layers of used hospital X-ray film in preparation for the showdown."We will fight our best, because we have made all these, so we will fight and we will succeed," he said.

    Sounds like a peaceful movement.

People are dying, because Suthep will not accept any proposals for negotiation.

It's absolutely sick that his plan is to incite violence.

It is also absolutely sick that Yingluk will not postpone the election when everyone seems to be advising her to do so

I think you will find its only those aligned to this mutiny that want the election called off.

  18. Whoever said "Red Shirts are peaceful people" better get their heads out of their arse. Now I know some will say how do we know they were Red Shirts? Well, who else is there? Red Shirts fighting with protesters in Phathum Thani yesterday comes to mind.

I personally I think all groups need to get off their "my way or the highway" attitude and start thinking about how they can solve the problem of the country as a whole. Wishful thinking....but it IS possible.

Quite an in accurate generalization, Yes some red shirt supporters are more extreme in the actions than others, this is also true of yellow shirts and Suthep's supporters, Now I most defiantly do not have my head in my arse, and I personally know many PTP supporters that are very peaceful, kind, and generous, polite people, and the same for those I know that support yellow shirts, That is a fair balanced and unbiased stance.

So, Mrjih, It seems that some people that make generalizations that are factually wrong obviously have their collective heads in their arse as you put it...

You just need to take a moment and think why the PTP supporters are so frustrated, this is how many times that a democratically elected PM and government has had overthrow attempts coup, and removed so that another political party and PM can be put in place that suits the interests of a few, Just think, was Mark elected by a general election???

Mark was elected the same way the Thaksin stogie government before him was also elected. The interests of a few?

Have you taken a bang to the scone. That argument died a death years ago. A coalition formed in an army base with some MP being made offers they "could not refuse" Amid rumours of million dollar backhanders to jump ship. The same way...ummm
