  1. So went to immigration for a 30 day extension. Was there at 8:15 and out at 10:15. Very busy as immigration was closed day before, Monday.. due to a holiday.. What's new to me was even though my extension was submitted early morning at counter 1A, with all fees paid. Is that its next day pick up.. If I don't pick it up tomorrow, and go next week...will there be a problem?
  2. Also, Some handy info for anyone on a motorbike going to the embassy. There is a good supermarket (Megamart) about 100m further up the road on the same side, with a security guard in the parking who gives you a ticket for parking which is shaded. Inside you can leave your helmet at the customer service counter, get a cold drink etc. No charge for parking.
  3. Just an Update, Went into Laos on the bike at Chong Mek, and out at Vientiane. I put motorbike as the mode of transport into Thailand. As Dr Jack mentioned, proof of entry isn't asked for at the Thai Embassy even though it's listed on the website and form. So all I used was Bank statements, a 3 day hotel booking in Udon for arrival , and a flight booking out before the 60 days., and al the usual copies of passport and visa pages. I used my Kasikorn bank statements but the guy complained it was printed too small...and that the balance had dipped too low at times...he was just nit picking so I didn't argue, went outside and got my other bank statement printed of at one of the road side shops. Back in went back to the front of the queue. All done in around 1 ½ hrs.. applied Tuesday morning, collected Thursday afternoon.
  4. Ye if I was just going for the visa I would fly or train/bus to Vientiane, But I do enjoy a week or so of motorbike touring around Laos, so thats the plan. In at Vientiane and out at Huay Xai/Chiang Khong. I will email Thai embassy and ask about proof of exit with motorbike...will update if I get an answer. Thanks,
  5. Thanks Jack, maybe I wasn't clear....Im not asking how to get a motorbike into and out of Laos, I am wondering how I can satisfy the proof of travel into Thailand for the purpose of satisfying the documents required while applying for a single entry tourist visa...normally folks would upload a flight, train or bus ticket. Where I would be driving back into Thailand with no ticket.
  6. Going to get a SETV from Vientiane and checking the required documents "Travel itinerary to and from Thailand and accommodation e.g. plane/train/bus ticket" I will ride my Thai registered motorbike over the border and once the Visa is issued, spend a week or so in Laos then ride back over the border. So would the import papers for the motorbike at Laos border entry be enough to prove Im going back by motorbike again? Hoping some one has first hand experience with this. Thanks..
  7. Chicken Enchilada's - Central eatery food - Sorry no pictures as ive eaten them both. Ok, ive never had Enchiladas before so I doubt these are authentic style, but I thought they were great. Just a hint of spice, shredded chicken, cheese and a tomato sauce.. While I was at tops central mall yesterday I picked up 2 of these Enchiladas from the Central eatery grill right behind the Tops checkout. I actually thought they we're 55 baht each, but when I took them to the till they were 55 Baht per 100gms. So it was about 300 baht for the two. I prob wouldn't have bought them if I knew the correct price when I ordered, but I will buy them again. Very good.
  8. yes there are a few. normally only run a few days per week...or maybe on demand if there's enough people. And all the prices are up... A lot.
  9. yes for sure, I would imagine you could this yourself no issues. the only thing I don't know is wether the Cambodian side will let you back on the same day without any payments...maybe some one else can comment with experience. the only time i did this border was before with a van company from Pattaya. so of course we had no issues. I was once at Poipet with a friend who went over and they( Cambodian Immigration) point blank refused to allow him to leave Cambodia until the next day.
  10. Posting this info for anyone else looking for some info on visa exempt border bounce on their own. So i needed to get a new stamp in my passport and decided i would drive to Ban Pakkard to do the bounce into Cambodia. This border has been mentioned as much less problematic than Poipet further north. I was prepared to either pay an agent at the border to help with the whole process, or to do it all myself and stay the night in Cambodia. Drove from Sattahip to the border in 3hrs 30...wasn't racing, the weather and traffic was terrible for the first 2 ½ hrs. I just took the main road ( Highway 3 then road 317) all the way as the forecast was for heavy rain. Only one major roadworks and one large flood to navigate, road 317 in good order. So arriving at the border i stopped at the 7/11 and had a quick chat with the local food sellers about where i could park my motorbike for the night. They pointed me to the local shop/laundry/toilet Lady, which is about 50m before the 7/11. She said sure i could park my bike under cover at her small shop. I explained i may be back today or tomorrow. No problem. Walked round the corner to the border and there is actually a large car parking facility very close to the immigration. oh well better to help the small business. To the Thai departures, 3 people in the queue. Immigration officer asked what i want to do. I said just make a new Thai stamp in my passport and as expected he shouts on a lady to come over. She quoted the expected 2700 baht. I was prepared to stay the night but after the weather and being there alone i didn't see any point in going to Cambodia and either possibly paying a fee to get back same day at Cambodian immigration or staying a night in one of the casino's. This fee includes the 35$ Cambo Visa, so after asking for a discount and being refused, just went with it. They asked for my TM6, explained i came in by air and they don't use them. She went off and got the TM6 and filled it all in for me. So stamped out of Thailand. I am then handed over to the Cambodian agent. We walk across the bridge with a few other customers to the Cambo immigration, the agent fills out the arrival card and again, 3 people in the queue. Stamped into Cambodia, whole page of passport visa!! Thanks... Guy laughs and then asks , leaving now? Yes please, so he now starts the process of doing my exit stamps...job done. back to Thailand. Stamped in with a new 30 day visa exemption. All in 25mins. So a few things i noticed, i wasn't asked for any covid vaccinations, insurance, copies of passport or photos at Cambodian or Thai immigration. The border is very quiet, no touts pestering you. I was surprised i had to actually walk over to Cambodia, but they said everyone has to go now to have the picture taken at the Cambo immigration desk. Had a good chat with the lady after i was back into Thailand and she says, i can do this one more time in one year and next time it will be 1700 baht, same price for everyone she says..haha..will wait and see. Next time i will prob do it all myself as its maybe 5 years since i last did a visa run and had no idea how easy it would be this time. Drove back home using smaller country roads, same time. Sun even appeared for a moment and then raining as i got back home.
  11. Ye any update? I am also thinking of doing this, as I am in Thailand now, and will go on holiday for a few days next month, probably Danang. As there is no embassy there in Danang, if I could get a UK evisa (60 days) then that would make it more convenient to come back in without just opting for a visa exemption (30 days). Also,,,is there such thing as a multi entry Evisa, or Evisa that gives longer than 60 days stay? thanks..
  12. Yep, from many years experience with Jomtien immigration, they will no doubt fabricate something that is not part of the official process to extract some coin.
  13. Arrived on the 8th July with Singapore, I asked on the flight and was told from one of the stewards that they don't have them and they are no longer required. I wasn't asked for one at immigration. And was processed for a Visa on arrival quickly for the 30 days. I will be requiring a 30 day extension from Jomtien immigration. And I'm guessing this will be where the fun starts! I normally get the condo owner to register me in this address and sent him the usual text message with picture of Visa stamp. first thing he asked, where's the TM6 as he needs the barcode number. Guess il have to go to immigration Monday morning to report the address..
