  1. Well First , to the Purchaser I suggest he Stick to the 1,000 Barht " Genuine Rolex's " , Its a Lot Cheaper .

But the love of these aspirational brands is a common thread .

To the Seller ..You allowed your Passport to be Copied ? , thats just stupidity ...

Its not a good thing to do , and once his photo is sent around , He will pretty much certainly be Caught .

Any Body got a somewhere where I can pick up a Pair of genuine Rayban sunnies ?

Could the passport be a fake too ?

Hadn't thought of That ..Well , he's an idiot if its his Real passport . Although , surely the Photo must be real .

  3. Seeing that this topic has turned into a pro-reds/anti Suthep versus anti-reds/anti-Thaksin fiasco I have one question to ask the pro-reds/anti-Suthep's.

Many of us are on neither side, but we support the right to vote.

    from globalresearch.ca/thailand-government-prepares-war-of-terror-against-thai-population-i-want-there-to-be-lots-of-violence-to-put-an-end-to-all-this/5366950

listen up cos it's the definitive article

    sparks of the tempest

    live version

    ..point of know return indeed

i'm off to a prayer meet, namaste

I would have Thought that the ONLY way , was certainly to be on Neither Side . The Side of Democracy and the right to Vote is the Truly important Issue here .

  4. Being an American and a veteran I would give my life for the right to vote. If anyone or group tried to stop me from voting I would lay down my life and fight for my right to vote. My hats off to the supporters of those who support the right to vote. If Police or my didn't protect my right to vote I would go after those who want to stop the election and democracy. It doesn't mater who wins or loses the election but my freedom and right to vote. Suthep and his violent supporters should be arrested and held accountable for blocking democracy and the right for people to vote.

So True ... Its a Fight for Democracy .

You cant just say " Sorry , we dont Like you " ..The percentage turnout will be Trashed by the Violence .

Its not a Case of Who Wins ...The Fight is for Democracy , and the Right to Vote .

If Im a Shirt ..Im a White Shirt , many of these Individuals may preference the Policies of the Yellow . But the Vote is the Issue ..

    Democracy is the Issue .

No Right / Wrong ..No support of any particular side .

Lets hope and Pray , that things and Calm down , and that Loss of Life and Injury is minimised . Individuals must be allowed to Vote .

  5. I was Asoke again on the way home from work today at about 3pm, and once again literally no one at the protest site, about 100 max, and many of them looking old, weary and fed up. God knows how it has been allowed to go on for this long with so little support. I can only suppose they have given up on Asoke and are trying to concentrate on other protest areas.

It may be in their interest to condense into one protest site to give the impression that many people are supporting these protests. Somewhere like a bus stop would probably suffice.

There are plenty of people there now. Also pictures of plenty of people at other sites.

With "so little support", we should be expecting the police to move in soon.

2-02-2014 is the date to keep in mind. Surely the protestors have a clear chance to show just how much support they really have. And it's win-win, as they don't have to prevent other people from exercising their democratic right to run for office, or to vote, and the rest of us don't have the duty to point out their undemocratic ways.

We both know, they don't have that much support, hence their undemocratic bullocks. Quite surprising that some people are to thick to really see what is going on here, of course it has nothing to do with corruption and even less with what Thai people really want. They have made their voices heard plenty of times already, a shame some people are either to dumb to get the message, or refuse to listen.

Repeat and repeat, still they are trying to sell the rest of us bullocks.

    So very True ..

Democracy must be the winner in the end , Its really that simple . You cant throw out a goverment because " You dont like them " ..

Now some previous comments about the Leader ..Its doesn't matter ! You dont vote for a Prime Minister , you vote for a Party ..The Party selects the Leader .

Its just important that the Kingdom finds a way though this , and the Military is far from the Answer ..Look at Fiji and Egypt ..

These " Situations " Cost Countries plenty . Now for the Sake of all Thai Nationals .. Free Elections and Democracy must continue .

An election has been called , It should be respected ..as should the Result .

  6. All have the Right to protest ...

A free and Fair democracy , must respect what is Internationally considered Free Election process . The current Government is the Elected Peoples representative ..You cant just say " Now we dont Like them " ..

The Government has offered another Election , on Feb 2nd , The white Shirt movement is representaive of all that is Correct about Democracy .

Its time for Thailand to Move to the Next level , to have the respect of those outside , and to give people the right to VOTE .

What is not wanted is to see Thailand head to Visions we are now seeing in Egypt . Democracy and the Constitution now need to be supported .Although the last thing needed is another " Shirt " , this represents common ground and the rights of the people .

Democracy is not always about what YOU ( individually ) may want , but its the best system going around , and must be respected .

You can protest , as so many did against Thatcher in her time ..But governments must never be thrown out , because YOU dont like them .

Look at the reforms achieved by Thatcher that assist Britain today ..Yet go talk to a Coal Miner , as we will still see the hatred , doesn't mean she did the wrong thing .

Now Thailand as a Fledgling democracy , must stand up ..Go to the Polls ..Respect the decision of the people ..Until you go to the Polls again .

Its great to see the White Shirts ask for this respect .

  7. OP wrote:

We had a brief discussion about sinsot (if we were to marry) and hers would be 1million but her parents would refund that to me. I don't want to pay this at all but will go with the flow. He is a headmaster of a big school and she is a teacher. I’ve been told that her mother is a jovial and affable person who likes to have a laugh but her father is really serious guy

This would be the deal breaker for me and a postponement of meeting the folks... 1 million baht.. tell 'em their dreaming!!

So OP, here is the ultimate test.

    What would happen if you:

    1. Tell her your customs don't believe in what Thai's call Sin Sot, so your want no part of it, or

    2. She can stump up the 1 million baht, beg, steal, borrow, converge on a meeting with the family to all come up with it so they can show it on the wedding day, then when it is over, they can do with it as they like.

Now do you think she will still love you? Will she stay with you through thick and thin, and let your love for each other conquer all?

You can always put her to the test and find out exactly what side your bread is buttered on.

He in a Headmaster and she is a Teacher ...

Sounds like my Old G/F ..exactly the Same ..The Mother was the Worst ..So caught up in her own " Status " ..

Especially , after she won " Mother of the Year " in the Province , ( The other Sister was a Doctor ) ..the other one a Nurse ..

I told em to JAM the sinsot , I had done so much for this family ..

But , some idiot came from Europe ..and WOW ..what a wonderful man .

Always Understand B/S for exactly what it is ..They will always suprise you , This was after a Number of Years .

I had another Mother ..( Young Daughter ..No Child ..Good education ..But Isaan ) Ask me for 1 mil , I laughted ..

    " How much you Pay " ? ..ans .." I will have to Consider " .." When you tell me " ??

Hmmmm ..It will take around 3 weeks ( Me ) ..Okey ..Okey ..I do , 600,000 Barht ..ha ha ha ha ..

a Game of Honour ? ..They give it Back ? ..

Sorry , Its simply a game of C*AP ..enjoy what you have ..but view over a number of years .

  8. I really do hope you " Jest " with this Question ..2-3 Months ? Love ?? ..Dont Worry ..

Mai Palai ..meet them and let it be known you are a Hopeless Looser ..NEVER , let any family member know what you Do ..or do not have .

If she did run , under this scenario ..Just let it go , and continue on ..Please , dont waste you time using the word " Love " ..Its never , ever " Love " ..nor is it in the West for that matter . Its always simply an " agrreement " ..Dont get excited ..Nor hold any concern for the family .

In this situation ( a common one ) ..Think about yourself .

  9. Why is retirement in Thailand 55, yet I constantly see drivers of these vehivles that are considerably older than this? Do we have an upper age limit?

I think Some of the Older Ones are the More Skilled to be Honest .

But the bottom line is " Older v Younger " , the training is simply inadequately for the Skills required to drive a vehicle like this one .

Not Sure the Retirement age Matters ...Also , when Im in Aussie , I feel safer with an Experienced Bus Driver .

  10. Its Just so very Dangerous on the Roads in Thailand , yet few really appreciate just how dangerous .

Even if you avoid Driving/ Riding you are drawn in by Third party participation . Riding a Bike down this hill is Scarey enough ,

I reckon its even more Dangerous on these Tour Buses , certainly the Driver education is inadequate .

Mini Bus Drivers , Grow up to Drive Tour Buses ..and oHH my God , you are taking your life into your hands by just being a Part of it ,

So many of these drivers take this particular hill at Crazy Speeds , despite the fact that the Speed wont get then Anywhere quicker at all ,

There is a general " Jam " at the bottom in Late Afternoon .

What is quite amazing is that ONLY 2 were killed , just unlucky if you are one of the 2 . RIP .

  11. If only the otherside could bring themselves to showing the poor some respect, then they mightn't have to do their petty footstomping, coups, and city-halting every couple of years because they cannot win an election.

But my Lord, rich and powerful Thais be humble enough to do that.... only the Shinawats have the intelligence and humbleness to do that.

    What rubbish.

Democracy is Far from Perfect ..However its a better System than anything else I have seen .

The Imperfect , works to proclaim as close to a perfect result as one could wish for . No INternational commentator , worth his or her Salt

contests Thai Elections , Therefore one considers the government is the current ELECTED government .

They have the Right to Rule , and its certainly not the decision of Others .

This democracy is repected Internationally , ANY other outcome would Thailand back 20 Years .

Therefore , One could conclude that it would be Reasonable to look accross the Entire Electorate , and just take a look at what may assist .

At One vote one Value , it would be reasonable to Think that taking a Good hard look at some small Inroads in the North - East would be completely reasonable . Education may just be a good place to start .

The View " St* ff the uneducated ..Rice Farmer " , well its not only well out dated ..But , It simply is not going to win an Election .

Thailand MUST stay with Free and Fair Democracy , So the Problem simply is not going to " Move on ..Nothing to see here " .

  12. Another election won !!!

This is as funny as a poll held in the heartland of Thaksin.

How about a national poll to get the real truth.

Or how about one in the south?

It is like someone doing a poll in the middle of Old Trafford asking them which is the best team in the Premiership..... totally meaningless.

Yet you use it as a basis to support your own deranged views.

So funny. Looks like uneducated farangs will always side with uneducated Thais... birds of a feather flock together. cheesy.gifcheesy.gifcheesy.gif

    Edited to add:

49.22 from the most hardcore support voting area in Thailand.... I would see this as a bit of a disaster if I were you mate. I would have expected 99%

So Delightful to look down from the High Horse Of which you Sit , uneducated support Uneducated is hardly worthy of a responce .

Any Politician around the World , In pretty much any Poll who Snagged 49% of a voting group that Included Soap Stars ..

Would be incredibly happy I believe .

Name me a British Politicain who could have achieved the Same ?? Thatcher Maybe ?

The obvious place to Start for a free and Fair Democracy , would be to start Consulting with leaders from the North - East , a great starting

point would be Improved Education systems .

  13. And So she certainly should be the Darling ..Little Doubt about it .

Its Called Democracy , and One vote = One Vote , Its far from a perfect system , yet its by Far the Best I've ever seen .

What the Other Side should consider , is how they can Assist the Poor , things just cant go on with the attitude that a genuine democraticly

government can be tossed out before YOU ( ot I ..or our team ) Doesn't like them , this is how Civil War is Created , with the Military holding Sway ..

Its like a Marginal seat in Any Democracy , Accept the Umpires View , and Go about trying to gain votes Next Time ...

And " WOW ' , guess what ? Start with some Assistance with regard the Isan people , and take the focus from yourself .

  14. CRAZY , on so many fronts .

Current punishment is completely ridicuolous ..And has this ever been enforced ? Doubt it

You can get it already , all over the Place , Many are uneffected as others have said .

All you would be doing is Creating a Legal outlet , and if it were used , What actual percentage would be for female Safety ?

Whats to stop your attacker using it also ? ..Potentially a much Stronger Version .

Based on the same Logic as USA gun Laws , Just Plain Crazy .

  15. Its pretty simple really , Its a Democracy . You cant just continue to have constant elections because its 50/50 ..

Thats REALLY simple and Basic .

This Alternative Interim Idea , is just about as Stupid as an idea that has ever been put forward , It would put Thailand back 30 Years in

International terms , It would create Massive Conflict ( yet again ) and more Individuals would be Killed , maybe even the Odd bystander .

Now its become a " Save Face " issue yet again . Now let the Government Run in Caretaker Mode till February , have Another Election ..

Yingluk will likely win then ..Guess What ? ACCEPT THE DECISION OF THE PEOPLE .

Not a perfect System Democracy , But far better than the other alternatives that I have seen around the World . This situation cannot simply

go on and on and on and on and on ..It doesn't help Thailand , or its people .

The above is easily said , harder in reality , but when the people have spoken that must be it .

  16. Fantastic. Yet more Thai elections. I've been living in Thailand 6 years on and off. Feels like almost constant elections. My wife and family vote for whoever pays them the most. Not entirely sure they have grasped the concept of democracy and the ballot system.

Mustn't complain as we'll shortly be the proud owners of a new blanket and 100 baht. Enough for a slap up meal at Mrs Miggins olde noodle shoppe.

    TiT

Little difference from a Marginal Seat in Australia ...Its just simply who recieves the Money .

  17. Its no win on either Side , and this is simply the problem that under current terms will never just never go away .

The worst Scenario would be what is curently occuring ..Unfortunately , we are now talking potentially years and years of conflict on both sides ,

With Drastic International implications for Thailand .

An Elected government overthrown by the Mob ..and another Mob waiting closely behind them ..With others waiting again in the Wings .

A Really poor International Standing ( Yet again ) ...And who actually pays the price ??

  18. Quote: "He says he has plenty of things to do in the prison here," the lawyer said.

what's there to do here in prison that is interesting? I am confused about his agenda. BTW, he is not the same singer "Pitbull"(the white rap dude) is he?

When the publicity has died down he will ask to be allowed to spend his time in the UK, which will probably be granted. There the sentence will be reduced considerably.

Not the case....if he returns to the UK he will serve the full sentence.

Not the case nobody serves a full sentence in the UK.. You obviously don't know about the joke prison sentences handed out there and if he got 25 years he would only serve 12 to 15 at the most

Similar in Australia , He will only do 13 or 14 years , if he's even half Smart .

  19. It's a known date rape drug that can be cystalized in a microwave and then smoked or added to something else being smoked. Think twice before you smoke anything. Never leave a drink on a table and come back to finish it off. Never drink or smoke anything offered by a stranger or "new friend". Be aware of what might be added to cheap bucket drinks.

Excuse me but you don't seem to a have clue what you're on about.

Ketamine for date rape?date rape what? a horse? A hallucinogen in adults(in other words you'd get the bejesus kicked out of you by your prospective rape victim),that is STILL(since 1936) one of the safest Anaesthetics around(they use it on children)that is NEVER smoked.

    lol.

not even going to bother correcting you further,

ignorance is bliss, and there is a startling amount of it in evidence on TV,especially concerning drugs,

oh and let me beat you to the punch before you call me a drug user or addict,I'm in the Security Business and have been for 20 years, that's where I got my knowledge.

Yeah Date Rape ! ..Little Chance of That ..If you were about to be Raped , you'd want the Rapist on this Stuff , He/she would be moving rather Slowly .

Widely used in Europe ........... And NO , I have not taken it either , but I know a number who have .

How much of a Big Deal will this be for the Aussie ? , and I agree on the " Look " side of things , Crazy Stupid .

illegal subtance Yes , but not on the same level as some other Stuff .

  20. Buses, minivans, trains, cars and now boats!

How are you supposed to travel in this country??

Seems like the only way to survive is, stay home.coffee1.gif

Hope those who died didn't suffer.

My concept and advice I give to tourists is "Never leave the hotel room"

Ha! That's funny because a big resort on Koh Chang got tired of its guests going off property to eat and drink.

So, what do you think they did?

They told every guest at check-in that Koh Chang "very dangerous," and that they should not go out after sunset.

I had Heard this Story ..Well , one way I suppose of keeping Revenue in House ..Maybe not so good with eye on the Big Picture .

  21. Very Sad Indeed ..

Also hoping the Toll does not Rise , have caught so many of these and Yes they can tip over quite easily especially if some Panic .

Really It needs to be announced , where the life jackets are and what emergency procedures are in place ..Possibly not Many .

Delightful ride when not over crowded .

Have experienced a couple of " High Seas " incidents , on " Island Hop " style tours , Im a little suprised there are not more " accidents " on the Over crowded Speed Boats .

Imagine being a Non Swimmer with Children ? ..Of which I'd guess there would be quite a few , particularly in this location . Its a Scarey Thought , hard enough to Save yourself in the Panic .
