That's quite a lot of Russians.

Seems like the Russians are doing the same as the English and Scandinavians did in Spain years back and hunkered down in specific areas.

No wonder the prices are sky rocketing.

Locals not to pleased with it according to Swedish newspaper. Locals quoted saying that the Russians are acting like the new kings of Phuket and have scared away a lot of their regular tourists from Europe.

No idea if that's the case.

I was just slightly worried about uploading the "N/A" JPGs for my SETV, but figured the worst that could happen is that they'd deny my application, I'd be out $40 and I'd have to visit a local I/O to get an extension once in Thailand.  The manual for the online application uses a Tourist Visa as an example, and doesn't show any of the "required but not required" documents in the step-by-step guide.

Can i chip in with a few quetions and thanks in advance even if you do not answer ????

    Which ones did you skip?

Have to apply for the first time for a single entry tourist visa 60 days and it's a bit confusing.

They ask for accommodations. Do they want all the booking we made? So far booked 7 different hotels on Samui/Koh Phangan.

    Or just the first stay?

    Confirmation of legal residence?

No idea what that is, since we don't get a residence card or anything here in Denmark.

We got our social security card with an address, will that do?

Passport pages for showing travel the last 12 months.

Travelled in Europe but no stamps, so just leave that one alone or show them a photo of empty pages in passport?

Applicant must apply for e-visa via specific Embassy/consulate conforming with his/her consular jurisdiction and residency. Applicant is required to upload

document that can verify his/her current residency?

Again that's not a thing here in Denmark other than printed on our social security card . Leave Blank or include social security card ?

    Yeah i'm confused ????

Same reason we wear a mask in 7-11 - to protect the staff. Airline  staff are exposed to hundreds of people a day. As the covid induced air flight  cancelations demonstrate these are essential workers. I'm totally bored with people that are so obsessed with their own "personal liberties" that they resent being asked to wear a mask protect others ????

Many European flights does not require masks anymore, even if BA5 if on the lose at the moment

and the BA5 are suspected to create a new wave across Europe this summer if not all over.

We do not have to wear masks during out 6 hour flight to Tenerife from DK.

Seems like there is a huge difference from airline to airline across the world.

One very easy solution, Russia withdraws and pays reparation

I think most of us on this forum wishes for that, but seems like Putin has other plans and keeps on using the russian soldiers as cannon fodder, with high casualties for both sides.

What the heck are Putin going to use Ukraine for if he wins?

He will have more NATO countries as neighbours.

There will be a trillion dollar bill waiting to repair what he has destroyed if he want to use the destroyed cities again.

There will be civil war for decades.

The sanctions against Russia will not be lifted as long as he is at power and in Ukraine.

I really can't see what he hopes to gain from this war, other that nursing his own ego.

I would say aren't you aware of what you post by implying NATO should start interfering.

Yes I'm well aware of what i posted.

Should we start a larger war to save Ukraine and stop russia?

Most politicians says NATO will not interfer and that's the same thing as saying Ukraine are left alone if they can't manage to fight of russia with the weapon supplies we give them.

No easy solutions to this tragic war.

So what, just another "TV Defence Analyst". ☹️

My guess is the Russian Army is going to collapse in the next couple of weeks and the Orcs will slink off to their so called Motherland.

    Sadly i don't think so.

I sure hope so, but seems like russia is gaining some momentum, plus the cracks are starting to show in EU.

It seems there is starting a appear some form of war fatique in Europe ,

and because of countries like Hungary, EU can't agree on the sanctions and had to make a compromise because of Hungary.

If EU are starting to crack, then it's very bad news for Ukraine.

If people really want to stop the war, they have to hurt financially in person as well.

    As example.

Here in Denmark russia cut of the gas supply today, and the gasoline for cars are at the moment 17 kr pr liter (about 85 baht pr liter)

We expect it to go to 20 kr shortly (100 bath pr liter)

The polls are now starting to shift a bit and a larger part of people are now thinking gasoline are becoming to expensive.

That combined with a lot of other prices going through the roof, could change the opinion in the long run.

How long will people be willing to suffer financially to keep on supporting Ukraine?

    3 months more?

    6 months?

    A year?

    2 years?

Hopefully long enough, until it can put an end to this darn war or until the russians are so tired of Putin that they remove him from power.

This addition to the the Ukrainian armory will, I think both figuratively and literally sink the Russians.

Exclusive: U.S. aims to arm Ukraine with advanced anti-ship missiles to fight Russian blockade

The White House is working to put advanced anti-ship missiles in the hands of Ukrainian fighters to help defeat Russia's naval blockade, officials said, amid concerns more powerful weapons that could sink Russian warships would intensify the conflict.

Ukraine has made no secret it wants more advanced U.S. capabilities beyond its current inventory of artillery, Javelin and Stinger missiles, and other arms. Kyiv's list, for example, includes missiles that could push the Russian navy away from its Black Sea ports, allowing the restart of shipments of grain and other agricultural products worldwide.

    https://www.reuters.com/world/exclusive-us-aims-arm-ukraine-with-advanced-anti-ship-missiles-fight-russian-2022-05-19/

U.S said Denmark would send harpoon missiles to Ukraine.

If that's correct i hope those missiles gets a nice new home.

Right smack inside a russian warship.

    With love from Denmark...

It would be the 3rd major ship as Ukraine sunk a large landing ship in dock as well.

    orsk%20reuters.JPG?itok=H5ZbLgeo

In addition there were 2 high speed coast patrol boats sunk .

Yeah i know about that one. I just didn't think about that as a major ship ????

I hope there are some official news soon. It would be a good start on a Saturday if Ukraine managed to damage that missile frigate.

Didn't UK shipped some anti ship missile systems to Ukraine as well?

That would be a nice supplement to the Neptunes.

Hopefully this war is over within a month, when the Russians realize they are fighting a lost war.

I met a Ukrainian refugee couple last week that couldn't get back home and they showed me pictures of their bomb shelled home that was destroyed.

When meeting such people in person, the reality moves closer.

The article I quoted above in the link is now missing from the BBC website or at least I can't find it anywhere.

I've also seen no other confirmation from any officials yet? There's a very foggy video of a distant ship on fire doing the rounds on twitter but thats also impossible to say if its the Admiral Makarov

That said with all these rumours around you would also think Russia would provide a recent image video or image of the ship?

Still holding out hope for today....

Yeah it would be excellent if they crippled that frigate.

Especially 2 days before the Russian victory gay parade on Monday.

If true it's quite amazing how Russia can lose two major ships in a war against a country with no Navy.

I'm glad I'm not the one that has to bring the news to Putin.....

    Keep on fighting Ukraine.

Russia will lose this war they started, as long as we in the west keep delivering the hardware.

No, you can google it. Thailand's foreign currency reserves are not 242 million US$, but 242,430.5 million (242 billion) US$!

Ahh, the two different numbers just confused me. I thought you meant 242 Point something millions. I'm used to a different punctuation when doing American millions to billions. (Here a billion is actually a trillion, since we use a system with million, milliard, billion, trillion)

"March 2022, foreign exchange reserves for Thailand was 242,430.5 million US dollars."

So, among the 242 billion US$ foreign exchange reserves, they couldn't find 50 billion Japanese yen (385 million US$)? - Are all the reserves in Chinese yuan?

It's hard to find 385 million US$ if you only have 242 million US$, but i recon you made a typo in the first one ????

Read that but I'm not convinced its true at least I hope not, its in Bloomberg and the source is "a according to a person close to Russian gas giant Gazprom PJSC." Its also in Russian TASS news although they both say "Ten European companies" not sure if you can have more than one oil company per country?

If true then my guess would be Hungary, Austria, Swiss and Germany?

I can't imagine Germany would go against their own sanctions.

They might have to since they are so dependant on Russian energy but it wouldn't best popular decision.

Statement by Commission President von der Leyen following the announcement by Gazprom on the disruption of gas deliveries to certain EU Member States

    https://ec.europa.eu/commission/presscorner/detail/en/statement_22_2682

Gazprom claims that 10 European countries opened accounts in russia to be able to pay in rubles.

That's a bit weird since that would be against the sanctions, so I'm looking forward to see which European countries they are talking about

Germany probably needed the money to pay for Russian energy imports ????! I don't know if France also uses Russian energy.

All of the EU countries use russian energy and has been for a long time.

Which is sadly why we just can't shut off all oil, gas and coal from russia.

Many factories in Europe would have to stop production and that would mean tens of millions of lost jobs,

and the economy would go south and the inflation would explode even more.

In 2020 40% of the EU gas came from russia.

25-30% of all oil used in the EU in 2020 came from russia.

Several politicians in Europe has warned for years about being dependent on russian energy,

but many EU politicians simply just closed their ears and said it was scare mongering.

Now we learn what it means to be dependent on russian energy.

In the future EU might stop importing russian energy, and that energy will instead go to China, India and Asia,

but for now EU are pretty much painted into a corner when it comes to russian energy.

Rumblings within the ranks of the Russian Military they want an escalation and all out war. Interesting article here:

Vicious Blame Game Erupts Among Putin’s Security Forces

Does this mean that the military or the FSB has concluded that the war, with its enormous casualties and incompetent direction, was a mistake? The short answer is no, quite the opposite.

Naturally, we’ll further increase air defense units on the border with Ukraine in order to cover our territory from ballistic missile strikes, but it is also clear that NATO countries have far more weapons than Russia.”

The author expressed optimism that the Russian air force will be able to staunch the flow of Western supplies, but warned that further Ukrainian victories “will almost certainly prompt the use of nuclear weapons” against targets in Ukraine.

    https://cepa.org/vicious-blame-game-erupts-among-putins-security-forces/

Not sure russia want to fire nukes, but i wouldn't be surprised if they "accidentally" hit a nuclear power plant in Ukraine and tried to blaim it on Ukrainian missiles.

That would also give them a weak excuse to withdraw all troops

Its becoming clearer that not only were the Russian forces vastly over rated but also the FSB have turned out to be just as incompetent. Putin even went on state TV to publicize this supposed assignation attempt and now its been unraveled as a sham. When agents broke into the house it seems they misunderstood the instructions of the set up and took things a little too literally...????

Russian Spies Hilariously Screw Up Putin’s ‘Assassination Plot’ Claim

Russia’s notorious FSB counterintelligence agency released a video of the arrests, as well as so-called “behind-the-scenes” footage of agents searching and seizing property allegedly found at the suspects’ apartment, which was posted in its entirety by state media outlet RIA Novosti on Telegram.

Social media users were quick to point that the SIMS game and “Signature unclear” could be signs that the arrest was part of an FSB hoax gone wrong, pointing out the directives for setting up the scene of the crime might have included planting three SIM cards and signing the book with an indiscernible signature—and that these instructions might have been misunderstood or taken too literally by the agents.

Perhaps realizing their agents have flubbed, official videos posted by the FSB on its YouTube channel excluded the book and blurred the images of the SIMS video games.

I love the 3 SIMS games and the book with "signature unclear"

It's also amazing how brand new all the other stuff looks like.

Couldn't they at least have tried to find some used t shirts etc.

Maybe them ruskies need to write their SOPs so the standard agent actually can understand them ????

Ohh well, at least they didn't showcase 3 SIMS games still being wrapped in plastic ????
