  1. Was 14°c outside Udon Thani this morning. Pretty cold walking around in my boxers, but still far from the near-frosty 2°c I experienced here a decade ago, which isn't too far off the coldest ever recorded in Thailand's history (-1.4°c, Sakhon Nakhon, 1974). Thailand's only official record of snowfall was in January, 1955, in Chiang Rai (though some claim it wasn't snow, but hail, which might be the case and something I've experienced myself a couple of times here in Udon Thani), and if it was snow, is highly unlikely to happen again anytime soon, unless there's some extremely rare weather/atmospheric events as December and January are the driest months of the year in North and Northeast Thailand with less than 2mm on average, and the colder the temperatures the less moisture as well, so highly unlikely. If I remember correctly, we had 7°c last year, which was the coldest temperatures in 6-7 years.

  2. WOW!!! Hold on guys, aren't they going a bit too fast this time? Is the human species ready to go from being served beer in non-transparent containers to transparent containers in just a single day? You'd think they take it step-by-step, but no, they completely floored the gas pedal here. This has to be the greatest achievement in human history since Jesus managed to feed 5,000 people with just 5 loaf of bread and 2 fish, and still had 12 baskets full of leftovers.

    Advanced purchase.

These were ordered by falangs like myself in June for over 3,000 baht a dose.

Supposed to get some money back.

Can't travel until my wife gets it.  I've already had Pfeizer.

Just think.  They could have ordered 100 million more doses then and it would been arriving next month.

    Short sited idiots.

Exactly the same for my wife and I. We both signed up (with THG) in June through Line. Then I took pfizer instead. Now waiting for my wife to get vaccinated so we can travel.

    You mean Lazada?

If so then yes. Police should definitely take a look there. Plenty to catch.

If you search on Lazada for gun accessories or army clothes or something related that a gun lover would like, you can sometimes see in the reviews of the products probably hundreds of photos of Thai gun lovers, most are probably perfectly legal and sane, but definitely not everyone. I`ve seen people post pictures of themselves dressed up in militia clothes with machine guns as if they were on their way to Afghanistan. I`ve even seen a guy posting along with his review a photo of the product next to himself dressed up in full gear in a room filled with many dozens advanced tactical machine guns, police-like submachine guns, hand grenades, hand guns and whatnot. Enough for a terrorist cell to make mayhem in any city. It`s ridiculous. No one need or should have that in their possession.

  6. My first dose of Pfizer I had some pain in my arm, as well as headache and some dizziness that lasted for 5 days. My second dose I psyched myself up and went "all-in" as if it was going to be my last day alive or something, as I've heard the second dose is a lot worse. Nothing. A little pain in my arm for barely a day and nothing else whatsoever. Nada. Now it's almost like I wanted to get sick so I could know it was working at least. I asked my wife's friend, a doctor, who said it's normal, everybody react differently. I'll just have to take her word for it then I guess ????

  7. So who and where are the biological parents?

I've seen this several times and even been asked myself to adopt kids to bring to Norway. In actuality, most of these kids are not being adopted, legally yes, but the biological parents will still function as their actual parents. While it's of course an opportunity for the kids to get a better future for themselves, it's also a financial opportunity for the biological parents. The kids are often not adopted out of necessity.

That being said, it's well known in Scandinavia that it's very strict. For me as a Norwegian it is illegal and invalid to adopt children abroad without going through an adoption process in Norway, for obvious reasons.

For "her" she needs to provide clear documentation and proof of the situation of the biological parents and other family members in her home country.

Third, the financial requirements are high, and very clear. If she is the only adoptive parent of the two then a minimum paying cleaning job won't do it, it won't provide a "secure" future for the kid in Denmark. If they break up, he will not be required to pay any child support and her financial situation will be drastically worsen, to the point where you start questioning if the kid actually would have a better upbringing in Denmark than in Thailand.

I could of course be wrong, but the lack of information in the article about the boy's situation in Thailand and his biological parents makes me skeptical. They knew the risk but went for it anyway. In my opinion it should be illegal, if it isn't already. It shouldn't be easy to adopt and import children and I think most people can understand why that is.

Gotten the phizer and doing well thank you.

That's good. However, I read that Pfizer didn't recommend taking any vaccine within 14 days (before taking the Pfizer vaccine), meaning any vaccine, Covid vaccines or any other vaccines.

That being said, I found it odd that the time between the two Pfizer doses in Thailand is just 3 weeks as 6 weeks has been recommended for months and several countries are now talking about 3 doses with 12 weeks intervals to build up maximum amount of antibodies.

After 2 weeks immunity starts kicking in where T and B cells starts working together to produce antibodies. These antibodies is what "attacks" the second Pfizer dose, hence why people get more sick from the second dose, but increases the immunity.

According to a study (not peer-reviewed) from May, suggests the levels of antibodies was 3,5 times higher in those who waited 12 weeks than in those who waited 3 weeks, in people over 80.

While a 12 weeks interval suggests stronger immunity, 3 weeks generates a higher peak in T-cells, which is believed to be a marker for longer immunity. 6-9 weeks seems to be the sweet spot most countries work with.

So, in your case, 11-12 days would probably not be recommended. It's likely we'll need a 3rd dose, which would be your 4th if you take your second Pfizer dose. Or perhaps it turns out to be a winning strategy, who knows.

  9. To my surprise I was actually called to come take the Pfizer vaccine. I'm 36 and don't have any underlying illnesses (beside a bit much coughing from smoking). Never asked or register for it. I did register for the Moderna that was scheduled for October. Anyway, I went there and took it, since the Moderna is probably not available before next year. I think it might be one of the friends of my wife who work in the medical field who signed me up, or do they perhaps gather information of foreigners from the immigration office? Not that it matter to me, I was just surprised to get the call from what seemed like out of nowhere.

Anyway. For people who may wonder. Side effects: Sore arm, headache and dizziness/feverish that went away after 2 days. I still feel a slight dizzy, but nothing to stop you from doing whatever you otherwise would be doing. All in all, the pain was minor, fever was minor, no big deal.

    <deleted> is chiretta?

A herb with woowoo powers to treat asymptomatic Covid patients, promoted by the government, despite experts warning against it as it only lead to people having false hope, risking further infections, as the herb has no proven effect in Covid treatment, nor does it have any other proven health benefits. Could just as well swap it out for some Timothy grass and the gullible would claim effects like no tomorrow.

  11. In most places around Thailand no food delivery service operate outside city centers, or barely outside ring roads, and people who live in city centers tend to have far more money and options to begin with. How about expanding the food delivery coverage, say by 20km, as well as adding a few delivery bikes in each of those hundreds of small in-between mini cities and towns around Thailand, so that the people who these payout schemes actually are meant for can benefit from it? Street food vendors in these places would also benefit greatly, and so would probably eventually the food delivery companies too.

    Just a thought...

4,500 dead so far only 125,000 to go to catch up to the UK.You ain't seen nothing yet.

Well, that may become a reality unless Thailand soon begin taking severe preventive actions, since Myanmar is now rapidly becoming the new Covid epicenter of the world, a country that is even more in a civil war today than it was 2 months ago, a country in political, financial and social destruction (as well as currently having a severe flood crisis), a population that is becoming increasingly more desperate to flee across borders, to countries that together accounts for 30% of the world's population, as well as Thailand. In fact, especially Thailand, considering Burmese people has had a long history of having far greater opportunities in Thailand than in any of its other neighboring countries.

Just saying. It's at least something to be vary about.
