All you can eat places are really bad for you, most will eat way too much

Sure, it looks overwhelming, isn't cheap, but I can choose what I want to try in my not too spicey shabushi. I can eat as much as I want to eat. No high loaded plates here, but an infinite amount of small plates and cups coming and going quite quickly. Apart from the a priori timelimit set, it's fun. Preferably on a saturday morning, just before noon: an entire assembly line of food for your family only ;-)

  2. Thai comedy The Cheery Lee, Village Headman (2023) on Netflix Thailand consists of 27 episodes and was/is fun watching. Not boring at all, and not so irritating (for me) as some of the Eddie Murphy movies. Actor James Fagerlund probably at his best! Maybe he's capable of making some of your family members smile. Mine did. Difficult to do better in the future. We'll see. More movies are coming. Enjoy!

    Working normally for me

Try rebooting laptop or Phone etc

    +1

This might help: first set VPN to your Netflix country where you've done your payments (in my case no VPN, in Thailand), and logout, and login. Then activate or change VPN to another country.

If the failure occurred on the 25th of January 2024 then maybe your Nvidea and/or your Netflix app needs to be upgraded to a more recent version because at that particular date changes were introduced intentionally on the Netflix servers to stop some old browsers from working. That's an ongoing development which will never stop. Luckily Nvidea Shield Pro TV is a supported device.

    Hope this helps.

  4. While I was forced to stay in capital city Sakon Nakhon for several weeks I bought the cheapest available cooker at BigC for warming food coming out of my fridge (see picture). My most favourate cooks are not always available late in the evening and in the weekends, so my food must be bought in the mornings. No bells and whistles here.

Some speed tests via https://testmy.net/ with approximate location could be helpful.
They are on LTE Band 1 & Band 40. TOT(Now NT) network.  Some idea of how you fare with coverage may also be helpful.

Performed a comparison test (see picture below) using a VPN server in Bangkok while actually being 'in the sticks' in Issan at approximately 40 km distance of Laos. Btw. the VPN server of Laos of ExpressVPN happens to be located in Khon Kaen. Strangely, speedtest outcomes show that network wise I'm closer located to Bangkok than Khon Kaen while being physically more close to Khon Kaen. Unless, of course, Laos has also a place named Khon Kaen, which I was not able to find yet, in Laos.

Please don't get upset by the numbers I found. I do not have the intention to startup a speedcontest. In relation to redONE following notions apply:

a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) is a wireless communications services provider that does not own the wireless network infrastructure over which it provides services to its customers. An MVNO enters into a business agreement with a mobile network operator (MNO) to obtain bulk access to network services at wholesale rates, then sets retail prices independently. Due to less overhead being more cheap. That's a well known fact. Hardware of Thailand MNOs and its speeds have already been discussed in this thread. However, generally, download speeds of a MVNO using a MNO are always lower or by exception at its best equal to the maximum speeds available of the network of the MNO applied In this case probably TOTs 3G and 4G. Thus far, personally, for my usage, regarding redONE, I do have no complaints yet here 'in the stcks' in Issan quite close to Laos. Coverage isn't a problem for me. Luckily for me those problems seem to belong to the past when we were forced to use large antennas here on our houses. Experienced no problem in capital city and province Sakon Nakhon and no problems in Udon Thani and no problems in-between. Number of towers of MNOs have increased rapidly during the last 10 years.

  6. This thread seems to focus itself mainly upon only three mobile operators (AIS, TRUE and NT)  of which two of them currently have relative large market shares. Thailand (NBTC) seeks to create four new MVNOs by 2026. That's sufficient reason for adding my Thai postpaid SIM card of redONE which applies theirs unlimited package (approx. 700 Baht per month), which hasn't been mentioned yet in this thread about Unlimited SIM cards. RedONE is currently one of the few Mobile Virtual Network Operators in Thailand. An apk of corresponding app is available for doing monthly payments online. Believe during their introduction in Thailand their postpaid packages were the cheapest one available...

  7. Theoretically, it should be possible to show Closed Caption subtitles. These subtitles function like a kind of sidecar and consists of a bunch of transparent bitmaps in png format (one for each subtitle) plus a few extra files describing a track of subtitles, all stored together in a zip-file. In that case font MS ArialUni would not be needed. Did some experiments, but haven't seen it working yet in the latest version of Kodi on android device Nvidea Shield Pro tv. I must be doing something wrong. Other approach with font MS ArialUni works well.

I've tried a few other subtitles sites within kodi but they don't have Thai.

FYI, take a look at website www.subtitlecat.com

It requires a bit of manual labor. After you've entered a title and actually uploaded .srt file contents, then actual contents can be translated to the language of your choice and generated .srt file can be downloaded manually. Not only includes Thai language, but many more. My advice is initially to take an English .srt file as source.

  9.

Where are seeds available preferably in a Thai seed store or as a young tree at or near a local market somewhere in the northeast of Issan (area Loei, Udon Thani, Nong Khai, Sakon Nakhon) for the Maprang (Bouea macrophylla) a.k.a. Marian Plum?

  10. Name in English ("Lonely Mountain") is visible inside the picture attached. You'll find great craftmanship once you've passed the entrance gate. Reminded me of Fred Flintstone and Barney Rubble. Beautiful.received_1362761194567281.thumb.jpeg.0cbb392d88f3720c5791ae30daa73cdf.jpeg

Why the Lazada link to a five year old Android box running Android 6.0.1?

It can hardly playback any modern formats. ASF,MPEG,RM,RMVB,WMV,MP4 are what is listed in your advertisement.

I fail to see the point of your post. Can you clarify why you have posted about an outdated box?

Wat are the best Kodi boxes in (at 23rd) January 2023:

    https://kodi.expert/best-kodi-boxes/

    Listed #8: MINIX NEO U9-H

Don't know if it cannot hardly playback any modern formats. For me it is important it can play all my existent stored formats. I do not trust the specs at Lazada. I would check the minix forum.

Review mentioned is certainly not outdated (only 2 days old). Didn't realize this was a 5 year old box. All I wanted to show is that many more different boxes exist. Despite its age, this relative old box it is still mentioned in a most recent review and still mentioned by Lazada.
