  1. Yeah certainly should be fingers crossed. The store I ordered was from a website called skate warehouse.com. Prices were decent when buying it. But now its inflated to almost double with shipping and the UPS bullshit money stuff.

I won't have to worry about shipping - it's free, or included in the cost, whichever way you want to look at it. On the other hand, order a couple of shirts from Tailor on Ten in Bangkok and they stiff you an extra 750 baht for delivery to Hat Yai.

  2. I wonder why is USPS or other government courier services are never in this sort of situation ? Anybody had a bad experience with those also ?

with my experience non-courier services (normal post) a lot of the times the parcels simply come in under the radar, occasionally I do get stung for import taxes and duties but that is rare.

With companies like UPS, they always do the customs calculations and also do the collecting.

I regularly order shirts from The Tailor Store online. Their factory is in Sri Lanka and delivery is by UPS to Thailand. Never had to pay any customs charges yet - got another package due next week, so fingers crossed.

  3. That's great smile.png

Although I think the guy that said he bought it for 95K in Pattaya is "totally" cheaper as the fuel, hotel, time cost will be close to 7-10K. The best price I found was 99K in Mityon close to Tukcom excluding the registration fee. Don't know if transfer fee and registration fee is the same though.

I'm not sure I understand you. It didn't cost me anything in fuel, hotel or time. The bike is currently being sold in Thailand for 89,900 Baht, plus registration. I would assume most large dealers have access to the same deals from Honda. You asked a pretty straightforward question ... I just gave you a straightforward answer.

"Where can I buy the Sh150i with visor and box for 95k?

  4. Someone interested easily can send a message to ask. There are people who mentioned even cheaper prices in the forum. Someone Not stupid will check few dealers and or will ask. . Upset coz ur price have to go down?

I ask u now. Where can I buy the Sh150i with visor and box for 95k?

Not sure about the "new" price of 105k. I've just bought one for 90k Baht in Hat Yai - including Givi box and windshield thingy (I got the dealer to remove that). Had a choice of black or white - both in stock - chose the black one as per the pics in the OP. It was on offer at the Hat Yai Motor Show last week at that price and is advertised in the showroom for 95k.

Picking it up tomorrow ... can get pics if you want. thumbsup.gif

  5. "A taxi to Hat yai from airport, will cost 350-380 depends on negotiation with driver,so don't do it.

I took the songteaw to southern busterminal and paid 40thb."

A meter taxi from opposite Arrivals should be 200 Baht to Hat Yai City Centre. Same price for the return journey.

My thai-gf asked some of them, while i was standing 100m away.

    The infos she'd got was:

Most of them don't want to use meter, especially not when you're a farang.

    BUT..if you can get a taxi with/without meter on,then 200thb is not a fortune :-)

    Anyway,thanks a lot for info thumbsup.gif

I'm pretty sure the prices are listed at the taxi-meter booth. I'll check next time I'm up there. When I can through a couple of weeks ago, the airport limo folk had a promotion for 250 Baht one-way.

Regarding cheap hotels, the Tune in Hat Yai is a conversion rather than a new build so the rooms are quite large (for a Tune property). Good value for money if the inclusive package is booked on the likes of Agoda.

  7. Riding a hot air balloon in Thailand ? Ive lived this long here, despite riding a bike occasionally without a helmet, often ridden the railways, driven a car, once actually went in a public minivan, ridden motorcycle taxis, tuk tuks, been on the balconies of tall buildings, rented a jet ski and by sheer luck survived them all.........however, Im thinking a flight in a Thai hot air ballon might just be a step too far.........

Thailand, I love you. But youre the land that health and safety forgot.........

According to the OP, it's an International event ... so no problem! Look forward to your pics. coffee1.gif

  8. Avoid the three provinces listed above and there is no problem. If you drive to Malaysia you need

    - Translation of registration document provided by the transport department.

    - License plate using western alphabet (you get the necessary characters from the translation above) (I printed out the number in large font, had it laminated and fastened it over the Thai plate)

    - Insurance valid for Malaysia (I have been checked by Malaysian police twice)

You also need to display a vehicle disc (obtained from the Malaysian Dept of Transport, just after customs).

  9. that region [the three southernmost border provinces] is suspicious of outsiders and they don't like you anyway. Next time do the responsible thing and cross at Padang Besar, Bukit Kayu Hitam (Sadao) or one of the Satun crossings.

Never had a problem with the folks when travelling in the southernmost provinces. They seemed to be pretty friendly and appreciative that you were visiting/passing through their little corner of Thailand. I certainly didn't get the impression they had particular "issues" with westerners.
