Sigh @ NeverToReturn. There is always one.
If you must know, I have a residence in the U.K. and I pay my dues on that too, so get off you pathetic high horse and go grump about your life and ideals elsewhere.

I never paid the Box any money yet got transfered over.
I did try and keep a ratio of over 1 so maybe that was it.
Or perhaps it was my charming personality
It must be your charming personality because I too kept my ratio above one and considering the average upload speeds from here in Thailand, that has not always been easy.
On the other hand, I've been made welcome at other sites too so I am quite happy with my lot

I would like to say - as for some reason I cannot reply to the posts made by Judas and Harry - to whom I'd also like to say thanks.
The kind words and sentiments offered on this topic are great and as I have said in many replies, that I do appreciate them, so I'll not bite to one post that appears to want to denigrate the topic as a whole. I'd rather the topic be kept as it has been up until that point, a warm hearted one and have the one bit of negativity ignored
As one poster said earlier he is glad to see a leaving Thailand topic where Thailand is not being put down in some way. And it would be great to have the topic continue in the good mannered way it has with some odd bits of humour thrown in.

By law you really shouldn't be getting any help from the NHS after leaving for 9 years.
Utter BS. And pretty nasty BS too.
Pattayadingo is returning to the UK, once there he has the right to health care Free at the Point of Need'
If he gets better, and I hope he does, then he can if he wishes leave the UK again
A point bitter expats should rember the next time they are whinging about the UK.
So get your facts right and quit giving false information to a man who is without doubt worried about his health and his future.
Pattayadingo.
Welcome home lad, welcome to your NHS, I'm sure they'll do the best they can, the best anyone could do for you.
Your kind words are appreciated

CAT card at CAT Telecom office. Buy 200 Baht upwards for the best rates. Google CAT phonenet and it shows current phone call costs.

Another bust.
Either the police are doing a better job in catching some of these smaller dealers or there are more of them now. Hard to know which.
-
Even if it is only ONE they have caught, it is one less preying on children and that cannot be a bad thing.
If they use this arrest in the right way they could glean a lot of information because these people usually have other contacts.

I'll add that the last couple of days since that outage, I've been hammering TheBox and getting d/l speeds of 900+
I got all the d/l's I wanted before they closed.
There are the odd times when the internet goes off for about 5 minutes at the same time each day. I simply presume they are setting something at their end.
It can be frustrating with TOT - and with others from reports so a case of take your pick, I feel but neve expect perfection
-
It seems the main aggressor out of the dogs has gone.
There was talk of others being attacked too since myself. And when there are children on the m/c as they pass that is not a good thing.
Oddly this only started recently and at the same time frame in the evening.
I am led to believe the Thai locals have sorted this problem out.

@ the OP.... did her chins wobble as she spoke?
But I do agree that there are very many larger and also older women working in the bars now.
Saves money in the long run because you don't want the large portion.
Tell them you are on a fat free diet
-
Hope the health issues get sorted quickly. We all want money, women, beer and a good time but good health is the key to everything.
Let us know how things are going in between the limited amounts of Cheese, Cider and Fish n Chips that you can allow yourself.
My stomach rumbles like a volcano now.
I think I need an XL box of Xenical. (Xenical being that drug that helps stop you absorbing fat from food).
Only problem being those wet farts full of oil and cholesterol
Too vivid?

AND pickled onions...........................
Pork pies. Proper pork pies
Ploughman's lunch.
pickled silverskin onions..... sigh. I am wondering why I have been here so long

The streets (pavements) here are meant for drunks so you can weave in and out and appear sober. Same applies when you stumble along drunkenly and can blame it on the potholes and cracks in the pavement.
Seems the perfect solution to me

@ Pattaydingo
There are many great Ciders about, and Thatchers Gold is one of them(not to mention the Real Ales), and also on the plus side you will no doubt be very happy to have some excellent quality Farang food again, without having to take what's on offer! Cheeses? the Supermarkets are awash with so much choice, you won't know where to start,I recommend starting on Cathedral Seriously Strong Mature Cheddar (400 g for £ 3),followed up with some Mature Stilton.
Good luck, and I hope your health is speedily dealt with, don't worry i'm sure you will have good unquestionable service!
Good cider, cheese, food.... my mouth is watering already, then I remember, sadly, cheese = cholesterol = bad for my heart

So happy to see a post like this that isnt a one-fingered farewell to LOS - I hope they sort out your health issues and we can all buy you a lemonade (!) in 2014.
@ lemonade
A few sherberts will be better

Keep your chin up ,get well soon and remember its not over till the fat lady sings ,so come back asap.
Good luck for the future, pattayadingo, and hope you can turn your health problems around. But, that doesn't mean you have to be a stranger here. After 9 years in Thailand you should have a life time of data to rely on.
Hope to see you back here again, well and enjoying your life.
as all the other posters here have said.....good luck, and get well quickly.
Thanks very much for the replies
i'll not forget where Thai Visa is and the many good people on here.

Hope things work out. All the best.
All the best PD, look after yourself.
CCC
Thanks

Yes, they do it because it is 'cute' in their eyes.
Nothing to do with insults.
I've a few photos of quite a lot of younger ladies I've met who make this sign.
-
Sorry to hear that PD, hope you get yourself sorted out medically.
Just to replicate what a lot of others have said, you (and your posts) will be missed on here; I for one have always read them as black is black and white is white and in the majority of cases spot-on the mark.
Keep in touch with the forum, and get back over here as soon as.
Very best of luck,
Chris
Thanks
Now I'm off to watch some tv I got from the box.biz before the deadline to close up shop

Excuse me, unfinished business. Did you go back and sort out those two chihuahuas that scared you off your bike last week? Seriously, the embarrassment of a couple of Mexican rats in fur coats causing you to crash into a thorny bush. You need to sort them out before you go.
Aye, rats. Nearly as big as those I saw in the Welsh marshes when I stayed in that foreign country for a while.
Those dogs attacked again. Other m/c riding by on an evening around the same time they had a go at me
The leader of the pack has not been seen for a couple of days. The security guard at the entrance to the estate + a couple of neighbours did mention the main dog would not be around. Better to leave it to them and for them to sort the problem the Thai way, especially with a few young children about.
Maybe they fed the dog some Haggis ? The ones built for running round mountains, you know the ones, they have 2 long legs and 2 short legs !
Enough of dogs!!
You'll get some people on this topic going on about how to deal with them and that is in the other topic!
Bad, bad, Blether disrupting this topic! Be off with you

I'll have the internet at home and be keeping an eye on what is happening around and about in Thailand.
No doubt popping in and making a few posts - maybe getting slated because I do not live here and know nowt (nowt = nothing for those who don't know nowt about nowt) The yorkshire speak coming through.
I can see me in the pub on a Saturday night speaking my pidgeon Thai after a few ciders and getting some funny looks too Comes from living here so long and speaking with Thai people most of the time
Speaking of cider.... I can taste it already!!

All the Best to you, hope you get sorted out OK.
Enjoyed your posts and did notice by a couple of bar names you mentioned think we have probably been in some of the same music bars in Pattaya.
I guess it will be quite a wrench after 9 years.
Take care.
Thanks
The big bad boss who is off to bed now has insisted we go one more time before I depart as she loves her heavy rock music.
Give her some Led Zepplin, AC/DC, Black Sabbath etc., and she is a happy lady
Now she thinks Thai music is boring, especially all those songs about broken hearts
But she will have to put up with Thai music again when she heads back home to her parents.

I've tried that. It is a decent tasting cider if a little too expensive where I last bought some.
I think the response to that is,,,,, Cheers!!
